Rating: Summary: WOW! Review: This was the most touching, funny, wonderful book I have read in a long time. I couldn't put it down. I liked it so much, I read it to my sister, who loved it just as much. I would suggest this book to anyone who loves a good story and has ever thought about the deeper things in life.
Rating: Summary: You will either love it or hate it... Review: and I loved it. Richard Bach is inspirational, and provides a meaningful tale that inspires and frees the spirit. If you are at a certain point in your life where you are looking for inspiraation and answers to unknown questions, this is a great book. If you are not at that point you will find it new age pop religious babble. It is a 5 star book for some, and a 1 star book for others, but why take the chance, read it. At worst you spent a few hours reading, is that so bad?
Rating: Summary: A psychology primer Review: I read this book 20 years ago and have bought and loaned it a dozen times. One of the people to whom I gave a copy was then a young psychologist whose clients were not only in need of psychological counseling but were also handicapped. He asked me once, "How can I tell this paraplegic that everything is going to be okay?" That's when I gave him Illusions. Little did I know he would go out a buy copies for all his clients. As for me, I re-read it often, to lift my spirit and re-teach me what I already know.
Rating: Summary: This ultimately is the book of Books Review: As Richard Bach used little words to get to the core of the Bible, the Koran and a host of other Holy Books, I will not use 1000 words. Just order now and find out why. Inspiration, knowledge and pleasure packed in a slim, wonderfull book.
Rating: Summary: LOOKING AT LIFE Review: a good book about looking at life. got some more of his work, gonna read it...after the shadow line.
Rating: Summary: The best gift I've received Review: In sixth grade a friend of mine loaned me his copy of Illusions. I'm sorry to report he still hasn't received his copy back from me. This is one of those books that has duct tape on the binding from having been read so often. I have not been touched on so many levels by a story before or since.
Rating: Summary: Thought I was alone Review: It is a wonderful feeling that there are other creatures that know what I know and see what I see. Most people think I'm nuts. That's OK. You either see it or you don't. It is amazing to me that most people in this world are satisfied with the insanity of it all. Greetings to all my Kindred Spirits. Don't bide your time uneasily. If only one creature understands...your mission is complete. Thanks Richard, there are no words I could use to express my graditude for your visit to my meadow.
Rating: Summary: The most profound work ever Review: I first read this book fifteen years ago and have never found a more inspiring work. Richard is a master wordsmith and I only regret that he does not write more. I have bought many copies for friends and would never even consider loaning out my old beaten up copy.
Rating: Summary: Power of Thinking Review: What Bach is trying to say here, I think, is that everything we are comes through the CPU that is our brain, and that we have access the owner's manual. The CPU can be tweaked with infinitely, revealing worlds upon worlds, if we know how to push certain buttons. Christ figure stuff has been done, but what other parables would resonate with us? I dunno. Good book.
Rating: Summary: A find. Review: I was hunting through my sister's bookcase and found a slender black volume on the shelf. That very afternoon, I read it...and I couldn't be more thrilled to have found it. This has been an almost permanent resident on my "favorite books" list for the last five years. For anyone who looks at faith with the eyes of a seeker, for anyone who looks at life knowing that there's more than bills and papers and tears--this book is for you. For anyone, really.
