Summary: Reality in black and white
Review: C.F. Hawthorne brings domestic violence to life in her novel, "For Every Black Eye". I saw it through the eyes of the abused and then the abuser. I absolutely loved the ending! Not because of what happened but because it was totally unexpected.
My book club is reviewing it this month and everyone is looking forward to the discussions that will come from having read this book.

Summary: The truth hurts some people
Review: C.F. Hawthorne has dvisualized Domestic Violence on paper. This book should be read by all women young or old who are in the dating arena, or for the very naive mother or grandmother. I have never been abused, and I could feel the energy, hurt, pain, and love in these characters. This is an easy read, with a heavy message. Violence + Violence = hurt to someone. The men(guardians) in this book take it upon themselves to pay back just a fraction of what the offended took from their victim. This is a must read for anyone who is involved with Domestic Violence. This matter must be taken seriously.

Summary: A powerful new voice
Review: C.F. Hawthorne's first book is a gem. Sometimes painful to read, but always powerful and passionate. Raw emotion spills from every page. For Every Black Eye is a one sitting reading. Ms. Hawhthrone has a stellar career ahead of her. I can't wait for her new book.

Summary: For Every Black Eye
Review: C.F. Hawthorne, the writer of "For Every Black Eye",really helped show the different sides to an abusive relationship. This book I feel will show the readers the truth about what women and their love ones have to endure when they are victims of abuse. I can personally relate to this book through my life experiences. It is actually scary to me on how real the experiences that the characters in this book go through. I feel that C.F.Hawthorne has not just written this book for her readers, but to let women who have experienced abuse know that it's okay. You're not alone!

Summary: FEBE
Review: CF Hawthorne gives you an interesting perspective into Domestic Violence. She makes you know what its like to live through it and survive. I wish there was a club that gave abuser what they deserved but for now this book kinda socks it to them.

Summary: This could have been a good book***SPOILER***
Review: Don't read this review if you have not read this book yet. I only purchased this book due to it being a bookclub selection. This book had a great storyline but there were a few problems with this book. I loved the Anne Marie/Febe split personality thing and the domestic violence theme also. The biggest problem I had with this was if one of Febe/Anne's closest friends was a psychologist, why couldn't she figure out that Anne had a split personality??? I also didn't like that one day Anne just woke up and remembered who she was and Febe just disappeared. Anne had to explain to all of her friends including the psychologist about Febe. It would have been better if this all came out in a therapy session and not just waking up one day and discover it. The whole getting back at domestic violent offenders scheme was so outrageous that it wasn't believable.
I understand what the author was trying to do with this book but it missed the mark. "Nervous" by Zane has a much better
main character with a split personality.

Summary: Up Close and very personal
Review: First person point of view is not my favorite read. When I started this book, it was so compelling I didn't realize this was the POV. It could not have made an impact any other way. This story is so vivid and told with so much passion. C. F. Hawthorne is a talented writer and I look forward to more of her stories. This is a MUST READ.

Summary: Black Eyes Will Stop Beware Revenge is Sweet
Review: For Every Black Eye
Reviewed by: Wanda Starkes, C&B Books

C.F. Hawthorne, inspiring author holds back no punches, as she powerfully exemplifies the chilling details of abuse and betrayal in her first novel, For Every Black Eye!

C.F. Hawthorne's novel is one of the most intriguing books that I have ever read! Her novel is loaded with love, support and spirituality however there is a dark side!

Annie Marie Scott, a loving, caring wife, a victim of unimaginable pain and suffering travels deep into her subconscious mind and finds Febe, her childhood guardian who is (no angel)! Febe shields and protects Annie from the outside world making it difficult for Annie to find the one true thing that she always wanted (love).
While Annie is afraid and confused Febe is a true warrior! She is callous, courageous, with a serious yet funny sense of humor and is determine to be victorious For Every Black Eye.

After Annie is brutally attacked, Febe emerges and takes control over Annie's vegetable state-of-mind and body the way she has always done in the past but; this time it's War!

C. F. Hawthrone's gripping novel will have you eagerly turning each page as the realistic reality of abuse and heart-felt action keeps you in suspense from page one to the shocking bittersweet end.
Payback can be Sweet but Hell has no Fury
Compared to Revenge For Every Black Eye!
