Summary: Vintage Woodiwiss!
Review: I have read most of Kathleen Woodwiss' books and Shanna is still my favorite! From an English prison, pirate ships, a private island and the colonies, it book had it all!I've just finshed reading Petals on the River (also very good) the prequel to Shanna where we meet Ruark for the first time.

Summary: The best romance novel I ever read
Review: Shanna is the first romance novel I read and I can say it is wonderful. My mother read it when I was a little child. She loved it so much that she wished it could never end, but it did, so she decided to read all the books written by Kathleen Woodiwiss because she loved the way she writes. When I grew up I read them too and Woodiwiss became my best-loved author. Our favorite books are Shanna and The Flame and the Flower that we highly recommend to all the romantic readers. We wait for the next book that we hope will be published soon.

Review: Shanna is what dreams are made of.Ruark is the man of MY dreams!It was the first novel I ever read. I can quote from this novel verbatim! I imagine Ruark in the 2lst century, with me teaching him all the wonders of our world as it is now. He was very modern and self-assured for his time. The book is great!

Review: Once I started reading this book, I could not put it down. It captures your attention from the beggining and does not release until you turn the last page. You fall in love with the characters and their adventures. When I finished the book, I just sat there smiling for about ten minutes with this total feeling of contentment. It is a fabulous book and I recommend it to anyone who enjoys a good tale of adventure, revenge, evil, mystery, fantasy, fencing, fighting, and most importantly, love.

Review: This was the first romance novel I ever read, and I immediately was hooked! A real page-turner that combines romance with heart-stopping adventure...truly an emotional roller coaster! I have even spoken to men who could not put this novel down! The only problem is that I have had to purchase 5 copies over the years - because everyone I lend it to mysteriously "misplaces" it! There is so much happening from cover to cover, you can read Shanna every year and still find it as entertaining and exciting as the first time you read it. Miss Woodiwiss is truly a master at painting images with words...and at making your heart pound and your body tingle!

Review: I missed a day of work so I could read this book! Romance at its best. THIS SHOULD BE A MOVIE! Oh to have someone as wonderful and patient as Ruark. No romance novel will ever compare to this one. If any movie producers are out there, please make a movie out of this, it is what the public would love to see!

Review: shanna and raurk have a chemistry that can't be denied or ignored.The writing in this book is excellent and you will fall in love with all characters.shanna is outwitted in every turn and raurk is every womans dream.I liked especially the shaving scene.the story made me laugh out loud and this book is one of the reasons i fell in love with ships.this book makes you feel the passion of the characters .you feel shanna's helplessness and raurks anger and frustrations.I love what he did with her horse and how he took over her dad. a must for any kind of reader.

Summary: The Best Romance I Have Ever Read!
Review: I read Shanna when I was 14 in 1980. I was consummed by the book after the first few pages; I didn't sleep or think of anything else for the whole weekend. I thought Shanna was a selfish, spoilt, spunky female and Raurk the perfect match to tame her heart. The book shaped my life. The one statement Raurk made was he didn't want Shanna to change he just wanted to tame her heart. I vowed at 14 to marry a man who would consider it a challenge to tame my heart. I married him 16 years later on New Years Eve. I have read this book so often my book is dog-eared and the pages are falling out. But it is a treasure that will be on my shelf when I celebrate my 60 wedding aniversary. I look forward to the day when I will be able to read about the children of Raurk and Shanna. I'm sure the challenge of watching their children married of will be an interesting story. I have read all of Kathleen's books but I must admit THIS IS MY FAVORITE.
