Summary: GOTHIC AT ITS BEST
Review: LAIR OF THE LION is GOTHIC at its best.. I have every one of Christine Stories I personally disagree however, her short stories are not up to her usual standard. One of my favourites is her Contempory Gothic in A VERY GOTHIC CHRISTMAS and her DARK DREAM in AFTER TWILIGHT and her Shapeshifter story in FANTASY these get forgotton but not by me.. As with The SCARLETTI CURSE she features a tortured hero.. as with a lot of Gothics there is a supernatural elliment the Heroine is strong and refuses to be scared off by odds going on.... Creepy and full of dark forboding this is a SUPERB novel.. and one must not keep comparing with Christine's DARK SERIES.. Totaly different but still with Christine's ability to draw one in to the story.. as you actually living it.... an excellent read and one that will keep you up well into the night.. one must also remember from whether you read Daphne Du Murier or Christine they alway features creepy houses weird goings on..and weird people.....whether its Historical or Contempory GOTHIC NOVELS ALWAY HAVE A SIMILAR THEME....

Summary: Well Written
Review: Regardless of the topic Christine Feehan is a good writer. However, I found myself putting down this book. I usually read her books in one sitting but this one took three days.
If you like gothic romance than perhaps this is for you. I find that all such romances are just like the classics with a pinch of modern S-E-X, which doesn't truly interest me.

Summary: FANtastic
Review: I really enjoyed this book. It reminded me of the Scarlotti Curse. The "romantic" scenes were wonderfully written and you will constantly guess at who is causing the accidents. The only books from Christene Feehan that I dislike are short ones. You can never get enough of her characters. If you like a good romance buy this one.

Summary: Lair of the Lion
Review: This is not Feehan's best. I have read all of her books. The first vampire books were hot hot sexually. This is more like the Scarletti book she wrote and reads about the same. I'm giving it three stars because Feehan is an excellent author. But her first five books were outstanding and maybe she cannot top them.

Summary: Wonderfully Erotic!
Review: Wow! Oh My! I have loved every book that Christine Feeham writes and this one is no exception. Now this isn't a Dark series book but I'm hoping it could be a start of its own series. Hint, Hint!
This is a gothic tale that will have you craving more.

The story starts off with the heroine, Isabella searching for the only man who can save her brother. He is shrouded in darkness and mystery. Many have died trying to get to him but she knows that she has no other choice if she wants to save her brother. She soon finds herself infront of the man who is the answer to her problems. The don Nicolai, is enchanted by her even before he meets her. He knew she was coming and why. He will help her only if she agrees to marry him.

Now Nicolai has a deep secret that could destroy them all. He must keep the beast within himself tightly chained at all times. He fears for the future and believes that he can only have Isabella for a short time. Isabella must show him that he means the world to him and that together they can conquer the beast.

The love scenes are highly erotic and leave the reader breathless. I highly recommend this book.

Summary: Not what I expected
Review: I'm a bit disappointed in Christine's book "Lair of the Lion". How many accidents can one person endure? The curse? What era did this book take place? Secret passages, lions, spirits? The content was boring. However, Christine does a great job in description of the Don DeMarco. This book did nothing for me. I must admit, Christine should stick with the Vampire stories. She's great at that.

Summary: Only for Very Patient People
Review: I bought this book strictly because of the author, Christine Feehan. If it hadn't been for a fellow reviewer gleefully wanting to tell me the end of the story, I would have never made it through the book. The first half of the book moves slowly, the story is very disjointed, puts the heroine in constant danger with things she doesn't understand, and foreshadows things we don't understand and at this point of the book, could probably care less about finding out.

The second half explodes into a fascinating story. The story begins to come together and you can't help liking the characters and trying to figure out whom the traitor really is. I wish I could give this book a glowing review, but after struggling through it for two weeks just to get to the second part of the book, I can't. I will say this, no one can write a sexual scene like Feehan, but even that can't help move the pace of this book along. Will I buy a second book in this series should Ms. Feehan decide to write one? Maybe. I know it takes a lot of creative energy and work to break from a successful mold that Ms. Feehan is known for, but I don't have the patience or will power to go through another book like this one.

Summary: The REAL Beauty and the Beast Story!
Review: I've been a lover of Christine Feehan's "Dark" Series, from the beginning when Dark Prince was published... the series is amazing, and I can never get enough of it! I've also really enjoyed her other works as well, but nothing like the Dark series. So I can't believe I'm admitting it... But I actually enjoyed this book as much AS the Dark series!!... I LOVED this story! The heroine was NOT weak in the least bit. ...P>Christine! If you're reading this, ingore those nuts! This story was fantastic, and don't let anyone tell you differently! I had enjoyed the Scarletti Curse as your first gothic... but this book has really proven how capable you are to write gothic. Not to mention giving a new and erotic twist to one of the most beloved fables of all time.

They need to make a movie out of this book, it was so good! It was beautifully descriptive, the suspense was amazing! The love and sexual tension between the couple felt so real! It really reached out and touched my heart! I felt like I was right there amongst it all...P>Till the next read...

Summary: It's Feehan, of course I like it
Review: As I said, it's Feehan so I'll read it and like it because she tells her stories so well. A few problems though. Right from the start I was thinking, "Didn't I already read this book? Except it was called The Scarletti Curse." Similar base storyline: girl comes to haunted castle, feels evil, falls in love with master and vice versa, brings laughter to the caster, gets into lots of trouble, saves the day. But there were enough differences that I didn't feel like I was reading about palazzo del morte again.
The story also got a little repetitious. Most of the time page limitations make stories too short, but this one was too long. As another reader said, you begin a chapter and automatically think "what trouble is Isabella going to get into this time?" Sometimes the characters were also a little thickheaded and you just want to yell "Duh! Don't you get it yet??!!"
But after the story dragged on too long, the ending was rushed into about 4 paragraphs. Problem solved in a snap, end of story, thanks for reading. It's like a roller coaster with a really really long uphill, a 5 foot downhill and then the ride's over. A little better use of pages next time, huh??!! I always like a chapter or an epilogue about what happened afterward. Also really wanted to hear more about Lucca and Francesca.
Overall, this was a good story. It keeps you reading to find out what will happen next and how it will end. You have to admire Isabella's strength in facing the entity, love for Nicolai, and determination to have others see him as she does. A good read, give it a try!

Summary: "Are you going to have tea with me?"
Review: I found Lair of the Lion to be one of Christine's best books. It is exciting, frightening, heart-wrenching, and touching. There was not one boring, flat moment in the book, and out of the eleven Feehan books I've read so far, Lair of the Lion contains her best line ever..."Are you going to have tea with me?" Read the book and see what I mean!
I have been reading romance books for 27 years and keep only a small collection as favorites out of the hundreds I have read. And most assuredly, Lair of the Lion is a keeper!
