Summary: A TOUCH OF FINESSE
Review: I have read lots of books about hypnosis, but"Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy Basic to Advanced Techniques for the Professional" is the most educational book I've read on the subject. The book explains hypnosis and the hypnosis session from A to Z in a most understandable way. It gives the reader a clearer understanding of what we, the hypnotherapists, are trying to accomplish in each step of the therapy as well as each step of each session. What I find equally as valuable about the book as its great coverage of the ABC's of hypnosis, is its information , in the form of bonus tips, that add a touch of finesse to the ABC's, or basics, of a hypnosis session. These assure that the client will have a successful session. I refer back to this book often.

Summary: Dr. Anthony F. Mullen
Review: I have read many books on Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy and related topics. Mr. Banyan's writting style and matter of factly approach was much appreciated. This book is very helpful for the novice as well as the more experienced. This book shows one how to think big about Hypnosis and how to be innovative and successful.

Mr. Banyan freely shares his information and experience and I believe this contributes to his success.

I particulary like the way he ended this book with how to contact him to discuss and share your different experiences.

Summary: The best book on Hypnotherapy since Elman!
Review: I just finished reading this book for the second time. There's so much great information crammed in it that it takes a few times through let it "sink in". The book is written in a style condusive to learning and one can easily see that Banyan sincerely is trying to teach things he has learned in his extensive experience in Hypnotherapy. He writes in a refreshing easy to read style - well organized.

I recommend this book as a "must-have" for anyone interested in Hypnosis/Hypnotherapy.

I have recently learned Mr. Banyan's ingenious life changing "7th Path Self-Hypnosis". Everyone can benefit greatly from this holistic, Mind-Body-Spirit approach to self-hypnosis for self-improvement. See for yourself at HypnosisCenter.com
Thanks Mr. Banyan.

Summary: Expectations lead to Dissapointment
Review: I ordered the book after reading the early rave reviews. As a Master NLP Practitioner and Hypnotherapist I found it lacking in depth and content. While the author suggests we use scripts, it seems he forgot to include them in the book. (Maybe you can get them when you do the course he promotes.) It is easy to read and consists mainly of a series of tips for a hypnotherapist to consider. Still a very useful text with a lot of helpful ideas and some good techniques, just not all encompassing work that the title and hype suggest.

Summary: THE TOOL OF CHOICE
Review: I own and have read several books and have watched many instructional videos on hypnotherapy. Calvin Banyan has put together more helpful information in his book than all the others combined. His book is much easier to understand than any I've read. All the information in his book is laid out in a step by step format. If I could have only one tool to do hypnotherapy, this book would be my Tool of Choice.

Summary: Look for the gold in these pages!
Review: I recently completed Cal Banyan's hypnosis certification training at his Hypnosis Center in Mounds View,MN. I had bought the book to prepare for the training and was amazed at the amount of practical, logical, and easy to apply information is contained in these pages. Cal's 5-PATH hypnosis system is brilliant in it's elegance, simplicity, and effectiveness.
There's a reason why some hypnosis practice groups consider this book their "bible" and practice it's teachings every meeeting. Do yourself a favor and become famililiar with this master teacher of hypnosis and learn how effective hypnosis changework can be with the right blueprint in your hands!

Summary: Next in line to Elman
Review: I was recently speaking with a world-renowned and published hypnotherapist, and I asked him the question, "What percentage of all practitioners in the world are REAL HYPNOTISTS?" By "Real Hypnotists", I meant, "What percentage of hypnotists use the most powerful, state-of-the-art techniques available---these being, namely, instant/rapid inductions, and also age regressions." The expert told me that no more than 1-2% of all hypnotists use these transformational techniques.

Welcome to Cal Banyan and Jerry Kein's book, "Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy". Both of these authors are also teachers with their own hypnosis schools, and both teach instant/rapid inductions, as well as age regressions. The work that these two are doing is phenomenal. And they have packed their book with trade secrets that are not widely available. Matter of fact, many hypnosis "masters" keep their most effective techniques to themselves. Not the case with Banyan and Kein, who have put their egos on the backburner and filled this book with effective methods for having dramatic hypnosis sessions.

Notice that the key word that I use above is technique. Many of the hypnosis books currently available are filled with theories and recounting of the history of hypnosis. This current book contains easy to understand techniques, passed from Master to student in an unbroken lineage. Not since Dave Elman's classic book entitled "Hypnotherapy" have I seen this be done.

For students who are serious about taking a quantum leap in their hypnotic skills, going to the root cause of emotional issues, this book is highly recommended and worth its weight in gold.

Summary: Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy for the Professional
Review: If you are a seasoned professional, or just starting into the profession this book is a must have! Both members of the National Guild of Hypnotists, the authors are two of the most highly respected instructors in our profession. I was very pleased to see that they did not hold back on sharing knowledge that has made them very sucessful. The book is so well written even a beginner could understand the advanced concepts in the end of the book. The numbering of topics throughout the book lends itself to easy reference of subjects covered. From setting up your office for success, to working with client's doing advanced age regression, Affect Bridge, Informed Child Technique, finding and working through ISE and SSE's and more, this book has it all! This book also has great information on instant inductions. Its unfortunate that there are still hypnotists that think they need to drone on and on making their clients suffer through a 30 min induction. There are still a few (I'm hoping less than 5% for the clients sake)of professionals who use only a 30 min progressive relaxation to do an induction. To those I say "It is time to stop watching Black and White TV! Color TV was born may years ago, as was the rapid induction." Dave Elman's book titled "Hypnotherapy" copyright 1964 brought the rapid induction into the manstream of Hypnotherapy. Mr. Elman had taught thousands of doctors and hypnotists his methods of inductions. It is slight variations of these, and the newer instant inductions that are the most reliabe inductions we now have. How powerful are they? There is accually covert tests build into the inductions to test for level of trance. This test includes testing for Somnambulism. In the back of Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy there is(in my opinion)the best version of this very powerful induction. I have a large hypnosis library, and if I could only keep one book "Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy Basic To Advanced Techniques for the Professional" would be it!
