Rating: Summary: Hypnotherapist's Handbook Review: This is a definite 'must have' for working professionals. It is not a "How to" book for beginners. This book is an excellent guide for practicing hypnotherapists. It is basically a format for conducting a session in hypnoanalysis and is full of modern techniques that will practically ensure a succesfull outcome with most clients. This book describes many necessary techniques and explains there usefulness. The form of hypnoanalysis covered in this book is an 'informed technique' that guides the client to the underlying event that may be the cause of a psychosomatic illness or emotional problem. It then gives the reader the framework to deal with the issues that may arise. It details the process in an easy to learn, and step by step method. The authors have made a great job in providing structure and inevitable success for the practicing hypnotherapist.

Rating: Summary: This book is a "Must Have." Review: This is really a great book! I'm not a professional, but I have read more than a couple of dozen books on the topic and have a number of tapes. I wish I'd read this gem before I started doing age/past life regressions for friends (1.5 years ago), because I think the couple of failures I've had, like my sister who is SO anxious and stressed, could have been avoided if I'd used some of the tips in the book like an introductory, suggestive session with a number of convincers... While not a professional, I am very serious about regression and the peace and understanding it can bring to so many of us who are dazed and confused about life. I always get people to read a few books (like Many Lives, Many Masters Journey of Souls and Mind Probe Hypnosis), before I will work with them to make sure they are committed to the process, understand what to expect (somewhat :) and don't waste my time by just doing it on a lark. Now I think there will be less chance of me wasting their time with the insights I've gleaned from this fantastic book...
Rating: Summary: Practical, Practical, Practical Review: This text is a practical resource for hypnotherapists who want answers and solutions. Step by step through the process of hypnosis and hynotherapy, Banyan gives clear guidelines and suggestions that really work. Whatever one's previous training may be, this book will add to and enhance one's work. Especially helpful are the suggestions for conducting regression work for healing past pain. It would probably take about 10 to 15 books to capture all that Banyan has condensed into this one useful reference. I do use it regularly.
Rating: Summary: Not for the beginner Review: Well, if you want to learn how to perform hypnosis, this book isn't for you, as the information suggests. The book talks about how to set up your business, and how to treat your clients, and how to fill your practice, among some other useful info, but that info is useful after you learn how to do it I suppose. The reason for the 2 stars is the fact that the info given about the book is misleading.
Rating: Summary: Simplistic but powerful for beginning or advanced. Review: When opening to read the book for the first time, don't let the simplistic style fool you. There are gems in here for beginning to advanced hypnotherapists. If you've been practicing hypnotherapy for some time you may have a tendency to skim through. That's what I did. However, since buying the book I constantly find myself referring to it before and after sessions. Mr. Banyan and Mr. Kein's selected style make it an easy read but leave the reader feeling powerfully confident knowing that any solution, simple or difficult, will be at thier finger tips!
Rating: Summary: Beyond doubt the best source for Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy Review: Whether you are a Professional Hypnotist or looking to expand your knowledge of Hypnosis this is a must read book. Written by two Masters of Hypnosis this book is organized to perfection. The contents will expand your knowledge and increase your ability to use Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy. I have used this book as a reference many times over in my practice and find it very helpful when dealing with clients that have difficult or challenging issues. The advanced techniques offered in this book are explained in a way that can be easily understood by anyone. I recommend this book to everyone.
Rating: Summary: Continuing education Review: Whether you're just beginning your education in the "helping" sciences or have been a practioner for many years, you can improve your effectiveness as a hypnotherapist by quantum leaps if you learn and practice the techniques taught in this book. This it the book I wish I had when I began my career, practicing hypnotherapy as a clinical psychologist. In their book, Calvin Banyan & Gerald Klein have expressed, in my opinion, an unsurpassed expertise in the field of hypnotherapy.
