Summary: THE BEST!
Review: David and his wife Leigh are the masters of fantasy fiction. No one else does it better. It's got everything: humor, romance, magic, battles, and much more. The characters truly come alive and the explicit detail in every story makes this book one of the best! If you love fantasy, you will LOVE this book.

Summary: Go Eddings!
Review: I am younger that most novel readers, but I love sci-fi/fantasy and Eddings had so much of what I want. He writes with a style that I often imitate, and he has remarkable insights on the way mens' and womens' minds work. Belgarath the Sorceror, Polgara the Sorceress, the Belgariad, and the Mallorean are some of my favorite books and they sit on my shelf next to Tolkien, Piers Anthony, and Terry Brooks. Say YAY! to Eddings.

Summary: Arthurian-type fantasy brought to life.
Review: David Eddings creates characters that easily become people you would go into battle with. The standard conflict between good and evil is made intricate with intertwining plots. The Arthurian theme of an ordinary boy destined to be a great king is wonderfully told. I love the Belgariad and the Malorian. I have re-read them and found something new each time. I feel that the Belgariad will become a classic on the level of the Lord of the Rings.

Summary: David Eddings has what it takes
Review: The Belgariad and the Mallorean have to be the best series of fantacy books that I have encountered. Edding's style is fresh, and not cliched like so many other authors' in this genre. These books are written with a cavalier attitude, and reading them is certain to provide hours of entertainment for those who crave epic action, romance and unique character delineations.

I am 23 and have a degree in Electronics. I scored well above 1400 on my SAT. I have read Tolkien, and Edding's work is so much easier to read (in my opinion). These books are deep without being overbearingly so, light and witty when it is needed, and richly satisfying. I recommend them highly.

Summary: le meilleur / the best in fantasy literature

English: Eddings wrote the best books of fantasy, his writing is so natural, so attractive that we can't leave the book during a long time. everyone wants to be one of the characters.when you read his book we think that we are in the book with Garion and all of his friends. When Tolkien describes a montain with a chapter, eddings describes the same montain and what it thinks with five sentences. There is everything we want in this book when we love fantasy.Feist is one of the best writer of fantasy and tolkien is the first who wrote fantasy. 1 : Eddings 2 : Feist 3 : Tolkien

Summary: Good!
Review: This book was really good. It has everything you want, heroes (of course), action, magic, and a detailed world. If you like fantasy - this is a must. btw, did anyone notice that in every fantasy-saga the main hero is a farmer-boy or something like that :) hehe

Summary: A great begining to a long and enjoyable jurney
Review: I feel that David Eddings has done a fatastic job creating a detailed and colorful begining to what proves to be one of the greatest series of books I have ever read.

Summary: Great Light Read
Review: This book may not be deep, but you'll never find a better light read

Summary: Eddings has a fresh, clean outlook to fantasy.
Review: A friend recommended this book to me, and being an avid 13 year old sci-fi and fantasy reader, and a great fan of Tolkien, I decided to give it a go. At first I found some of the names slightly familiar to The Lord of the Rings, and I guess this is often the case with authors like Eddings. But I was pleasantly surprised by Eddings' outlook to fantasy. It was a really enjoyable read, and made me want more... Mr. Eddings' work is in an entirely different genre to Tolkien, or, indeed, any other fantasy author. Please, Tolkien fans, I can sympathise that so many authors have been influenced by the great man, but give Eddings and others like him a break. If you hate him then just hold your peace. I think that Eddings is an excellent author, and I would recommend this book to anyone who wants a fairly light read with humour, action and, most importantly, fantasy! I've bought the entire series...and I still want more.
