Rating: Summary: Run to get it! Review: Jessie is an appealing character with virtually no knowledge of the world in 1996. She's charismatic, as well as clever, when trying to save her village. Haddix has taken a completely original concept and deftly woven science and human nature into an incredible tale for any ages.
Rating: Summary: :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( : ( (Running Out Time) Review: I am reading Running Out of Time.I would give the book 3 stars because it was boring until the end. If you like to read anything, then you would like it. I don't mean to be mean, but personally I thought that the book was boring.(ZZZZZZZZZZZZZ).At the beginning, it's about a girl's(Jessie)life in 1840. Then she finds out that it's really 1990.So she has to go into the real world and get some medicine for the other children who think its 1840. If I were you I wouldn't spend all of my money on a hard covered book.I would by a paper back book. I thought the book was boring but I thought that the characters were believable.
Rating: Summary: A Good Book Review: This book was a very good book by one of my favorite authors, Margert Peterson Haddix. This book was an easy read, but it was written very well. I enjoyed this book because it was written in a past to present format. Haddix writes many books about teenagers in a different world. This was like a history book. You learned about the things children used to have to do every day. They had to grow their own food and bring water up from the rivers and other things just to survive. They were taght in a one room school house and that school house had grades 1-8. There was one teacher who was very strict, the chidren were also taught different things then we are taught now. In this book Jessica, the main character, has to complete a dangerous mission. On this mission she finds out things are not as they seem.
Rating: Summary: Good, but.... Review: I loved this book. The main character, 13-year-old Jessie, was a strong, believable, brave girl brought to life by simple but intelligent, beautiful writing. Her parents' relationship was three-dimensional and interesting to read about. However, Miles Clifton's reason for making a historic preserve are a bit sketchy. A gene pool? Come on now. But I can't think of a more believable reason, either.
Rating: Summary: A superb book Review: This book was one of the best I've ever read. It didn't deserve 5 stars, it deserved 20. The whole plot and characters were mesmerizing, it was one of those books once you start you can't stop. I absolutely loved Running Out of Time. If you're looking for a great book, read this one!
Rating: Summary: The Best Book Ever Review: Running Out Of Time is the best book I ever read! With Jessie living in an 1840 world and then walking into 1996 you can imagine what it would me like. I think anyone between the ages of 9 and 16 would love it! I am 10 years old and even my aunt who is 50 even liked it.
Rating: Summary: One of the best books I've read!!!!! Review: I can't believe how great this book was!!!!! I thought at the beginning it was going to be about a girl how lives on a farm!!! I read this book for my reading class. At first I really didn't like it but that was just the first page!! There is soo much Excitement in the book! I thought she was going to die in soo many parts of the book!! This book really wants me to read more of her books. I've read, "Amoung The Hidden" and that was amazing!! That book was great! I really hope Margaret peterson Haddix writes a sequal to it. She always wants you to read more and more until your done with the book the first day!! I also leearned a lot in the book like what Diptherea was and what chamber pots were!! I think that if I went into a different world that I would be just like Jessie. Brave, and scared at the same time. But then again if I went into her world than I would be mad that you won't have like chips and stuff like that because I can't live without it!!!! I could kindof realate to Jessie because We are all scared sometimes when something horrible happens...anyway that book was awsome!!!!!! I really hope Margaret makes a sequal!!!

Rating: Summary: Running out of time review Review: I thought this was a great book! Margaret Peterson Haddix has a way of always making you want to read more. The last sentance is usually the most exciting so you'll want to read more. The girl in the story I think probably relates to a lot of us. She thinks that she is brave, and she is, but going in to a whole new world where nothing is the same made her realize that she is not as brave as she thought. This book made me look at things a lot harder. It shows how we take things for granted. For example we have electricity. Jessie had never even heard of electricity. There are a lot of things that Jessie had to do that we have Machines for now. Jessie was also lied to for thirteen years. She really thought that it was 1840. If you ever get the chance to read this book you should go for it. It is wonderful!
Rating: Summary: From Casey Review: I love this book! I think that living in a 1840's would be cool. but it would also be scary being Jessie and having to leave your home because of diphtheria, that had hit her village. Jessie's mother helps her leave into the world outside her village, in which it's 1996. All the new and interesting inventions of the "future" scare Jessie, and frighten her. Her mission to save her town will be treacherous but she won't be stopped!
