Rating: Summary: Action-packed and absorbing Review: I found this book on a list of books for gifted kids. I thought it looked interesting, so I bought it. After that, I couldn't put it down. The action packed story and the author's excellent choice of description kept me reading. The author's explanations made it interesting to see how a girl from hundreds of years ago would describe today's luxuries. It made me appreciate what efficencies we have today. I give it two thumbs up.

Rating: Summary: This book is so good!!!! Review: If anybody likes good books you should definitely read Running Out of Time. It is a great mix of suspense, historical fiction and excellence. Jessie Keyser lives with her family in Clifton, Indiana in the 1830s. The children of Clifton are falling like leaves with sickness. Jessie is sent by her mother to go outside Clifton to get a cure for the children. But outside the walls of Clifton it is 1996, a completely time period. Jessie encounters many problems in 1996 but she must get the cure. A must read for anybody who likes suspense.
Rating: Summary: It's A Race Against Time! Head To Head! Review: Running Out of Time is fast-paced and sensational. How it takes place is so unique. It takes place in what is thought to be the year 1840 but it is actually 1996. Also, the rising action is blended into the exposition. Running Out of Time is a book to read if you like adventurous or survival books, though the story is unfinished like Hatchet by Gary Paulsen. Surprise! There is no sequel. Running Out of Time is one of the greatest books of all time!
Rating: Summary: Running Out of Time Review: I really enjoyed this book, in fact, it is one of my favorites. I like the way it has 'time travle' and u c a 1800's perception on our time (1996) without some old creep building a time machine. it was predictable at some parts, and I was ready to SCREAM at her for not doubting, but she it a trusting girl not one that would suspect evil everywhere. I really enjoied this book, u need 2 read it.
Rating: Summary: Must Read ! Review: Running Out of Time Running Out of Time is one of the greatest book I have ever read. The book take place in the year 1940, but it is really the year 1996.One day Jessie's mother asked Jessie to go get help in the real year 1996 because many children in 1840 got a disease called diphtheria, but trouble was waiting for Jessie. I liked the book because it is exciting and adventurous. When I was reading I felt that I wasn't breathing because there is many scary parts, but I kept on reading to find out if she got help. I think the author tried to tell us to be brave.
Rating: Summary: Running out of time by Margerret Haddix Review: Chris Henderson Period ¾ 4/29/02 Book Review If you thoroughly enjoy fictional-historic novels, then this book is for you. The book, Running Out of Time by Margaret Haddix immerses you into a thrilling blender of a modern and climatic battle of good vs. evil. The book takes place in the quant pioneer town of Clifton. Although the book is very historically correct, the book is hard to believe. The town that Jessie, the main character lives in, is not actually a pioneer town. In fact, it is a genetic research center, using the inhabitants as guinea pigs to create a super human that is invincible to all diseases. I would suggest the book to maybe a 6th or 7th grade student, because of the plot of the story. I also think that this would be a good choice for this age group because of the history behind the book. The book is a quick read, only being 187 pages. Overall, I think that this a very good book. It exemplifies the time of the pioneers and how they did not have the things that we find necessities today. I also think that this book would be great to tie in with a curriculum in the mid 1800's. The grade I would most likely give this book is 7 out of 10 points. I liked the plot, but I just think the book needed more content.
Rating: Summary: Running out of Time Review: The book Running out of Time is a great book.It is definitely a book for people who like a good jump out of your seat mystery. From the second I started reading the book I couldn't put it down. It was written by Margeret Peterson Haddix. She has not only written this wonderful book but also wrote Among the Hidden. Both books are great and fun to read.
