Summary: Not Exactly what I expected...
Review: I have read all of Ms. Pierce's books, including the Circle of Magic and the Cirle opens. I read these after Alanna and the Immortals and they were kind of disapointing. These books are very well written and the writing isn't complicated, but I don't think they were quite up to Alanna and The Immortals' standards.

Summary: Circle of Magic Series is My Current Favorite!
Review: I have been blogging about books at hoppinreadinreview using the blogspot server. This is great that amazon has reviews here too!

At the beginning of the book you are introduced to Sandry locked in a storage closet hidden by magic. She has an oil lamp that is almost out of oil, without any extra oil to refuel it! How will she get out of the coming darkness? When you are introduced to Daja she thinks that she is a ghost! But she discovers that she is covered in salt. When she looks around she sees that she is the only one of her family left alive. Is that her fate too? What is her purpose in life? Will she be saved? When you meet Briar his name is not Briar. His name is Roach and he is a thief. He is caught three times and is about to be taken away when a man takes him elsewhere. Where is he going to be taken? When you meet Tris she is being laughed at by the other girls in her dormitory. The winds rush into the dormitory and scares the other girls. Then, like always, the people send her away like the rest of her family. Where will she go now? These four children meet at the winding circle temple and become friends. They discover their magic at the discipline cottage. When disaster strikes, can Sandry weave their way out of this mess? Find out in the Circle of Magic series.

Summary: Great, NOT childish or immature, whatever SOME people say
Review: I love this series. T.P. has a perfect right to write for a younger audience. Just because her earlier books were for teens doesn't mean she always has to write for them, and these books are still fun for teens *frost issues from mouth at evil reviewer*. I like the other books in the series a lot better, it's true, but this book is just setting up the next three, so that's okay. Hate this book if you want, but don't assume that whatever you feel about this one will translate over to the rest odf the series.

Summary: Great Start To A New Series!!!!!!!!!
Review: I personally didn't think that this book was better then the Tortal series but it was a wonderful read. There are four main characters called: Brair(a street rat), Tris(a girl that no one wants), Daja(a trader that has been banished), and Sandry(a noble). They all got taken to Winding Circle by Niklaren Goldeye(Niko). Rosethorn and Lark become their teachers when they find out that they all have magic. Briar has a way with plants, Tris has weather magic, Daja has a way with metal, and Sandry has a way with tread and sewing and weaving. I won't say anymore but this is a great read that all girls age nin and up should read.

Summary: You have to read this book!
Review: This is the first book in the Magic Circle series, and you MUST read it first, before the others. It's a little confusing at first, because it switches from person-to-person so fast, but when it gets started, it's really interesting. This wasn't my favorite Magic Circle book, but it's impossible for me to dislike a Tamora Pierce book!

Summary: A Wonderful Read!!
Review: This would be one of my favorite books. Although I think this book is the fourth best series that Tamora Pierce has writen, it is still a wonderful read! I enjoy how there is more than one main character in the book and also enjoy the magical experience that takes place! It is a wonderful mix of common life and magic! I highly recommend this book!

Summary: A great book!!
Review: Yes, I know, I know. Most people who read Tamora Pierce's books all like her Tortall books better. But I think the Circle of Magic books are just as good!!! Sandry's book is a wonderful book, with humourous, exciting, and suspensful parts. It might be a little hard to get into, but when you finish it, you won't regret it. Anyways, if you havent read this book, read it!

Summary: Better than Harry Potter thats for sure
Review: This is the absolute best book for those who are interested in magic as I am. I noticed one thing about this book. First, the writing is better than J.K.'s writing though no offense to her. Second, the magic in the books are more exciting than HP because, you can imangine yourself there and it uses everyday things so you can have a feeling that your there.
I have read books 1&2 so many times I can recite some parts if I had to. I just cannot wait till I get the 3rd and 4th books. I really want to learn Tradertalk like Daja though.I know its not real but it would be interesting to find out how more than 5 words are said in Tradertalk.

Summary: Circle of Magic #1: Sandry's Book
Review: Fantastic! I absolutely couldn't put it down! A wonderful start to the Circle of Magic series. If you like young adult fantasy... YOU WILL LOVE THIS BOOK. Simple as that. Heck- I wouldn't be surprised if everyone who read it loved it! Very well written, well-developed characters- I fell in love with this book after two chapters. Pick it up- give it a read! You won't regret it.

Summary: For a younger kids' book...
Review: While teengage fans (such as myself) of Pierce's other fantasy quartets may find this series a bit jeuvenile and unexciting at first, for a series aimed at twelve years olds, it's definitely worth while. True, not a lot happens in this first one, but what makes the book truly special is the excellently developed characters, the way the author is able to make you care about them right away. And the subsequent books do get better. The book centers around a place called Winding Circle Community, where the magically gifted young come to learn to use their inherrent powers and become future 'mages'. It follows four children brought to Winding Circle, each under different circumstances, and coming from vastly different backrounds. There's Sandry, of course, a spoiled, though basically good hearted rich girl, longing to do things for herself; Briar, a street rat, lacking even a last name and on his way to a short life of hard labor for being caught three times as a theif; Daja, a recently orphaned Trader girl, fascinated with the metel workings forbidden to her people; and Tris, an angry, deeply wounded girl, shunned and ignored by her family, and possessing an intense connection with the weather. Each quickly become misfits or loners in the community, and gradually, we see them start to become friends. I won't say anything else, to avoid spoiling the story, but trust me, read this one, and then the rest of the series, and you won't be sorry you did. My one minor gripe was the rather misleading title. Sandry's Book. Naturally you'd assume this one would focus mostly on Sandry, not the case however. Briar and Daja are the main focuses here.
