Summary: "Excellent!"
Review: I hope you're just dipping into this out of idle curiosity- want to see what others think of this superb book. But maybe you're reading all these reviews because you haven't read Sandry' Book. Well, in the words of Bob Crachit, "A triumph . . . another triumph!" Sandry's Book is an enthralling story of four children that are as different as can be. Their talents are identified, and they are brought to Winding Circle Temple, where one would just expect them to learn and head out. But these are no ordinary gifts. Against all odds, Sandry, Tris, Daja, and Briar must overcome the evil that has entered the temple life. This tale is cleverly planned, beautifully written, and, in my opinion, a fresh classic by Tamora Pierce that will be enjoyed for generations to come. You don't have to look very far to find someone who had read and loved Sandry's Book. In fact, I'd venture to say that 99% of everyone that has read this has become hooked on Tamora Pierce's books. Honestly, you're missing out- get Sandry's Book soon, and you'll be opening a window into the world of fantasy.

Summary: Fans of Harry Potter will love this!
Review: Let me see...fans of Harry Potter will absolutely adore this, particularly girls. WHY?! Because it has an almost all-female cast with the exception of Niko and Briar. This book was a little boring, but it was well written. :P My favorite characters were Tris and Briar, and I think they both have crushes on each other. Don't you just love love/hate romances?

Summary: Good but Lioness was better
Review: Ok, the whole Circle of Magic series is a nice, easy read and enjoyable. However, I don't think they are up to the standards of Ms Pierce's "Lioness" or "Immortals" series. If you are just starting to read Ms Pierce's work - start with "Alanna: the first adventure".

Perhaps, it was that just _too_ many disasters occurred to the quartet of friends in one short year, or that I found none of the characters to be as engaging as Alanna or Diane, nor did I find the world to be as well defined and thought out as Torell.

The concept of magic in craft (weaving, smithing, etc.) is not new but Ms Pierce does have a nice spin on it. And I did love the idea of spinning their magics together to make weak strands/magic stronger (Sandry's), which results in blending/sharing of magics (Tris's/Daja's)and the idea of mapping their magics with weaving and using the weaving to prevent further blending of their power (Daja's).

Over all I found the Circle of Magic series to be nice but if you want a true representation of Ms Pierce's talent try the books set in Torell (Song of the Lioness, Immortals, Protector of the Small)

Summary: Great, man, great
Review: This book's really good. It has rich description, varied characters, and an original plot. I think it's better than the Alanna and Immortals series because it's less clichéd and less predictable. Also with both of those I liked the first two in the series much better than the last two. With this quartet I liked them all.

Summary: Neat book!
Review: When I started reading Tamora Pierce's "Sandry's Book", I had a bit of a hard time. I have never read other books by Tamora Pierce before, but from what I have heard the rest of her books are fantastic, too. A royal girl, a thief, a Trader castout and a merchant's daughter, joined together by a mage in a special "school", form a friendship, which they disguise by jokingly teasing each other. After finding out that they have powerful magics, they must join together to save their lives and the lives of most of the people in their "school". A gripping must-read, though parts of it are a bit frustrating at first.

Summary: A Fantastic Book!
Review: I really liked this book. I think it is good for someone that likes to read about kids that no one understands and how they try to get through all that oppose them.

Summary: Finally! Someone writes about craft-magic!
Review: Like most of the other reviewers, I was somewhat reluctant to read a book by Pierce that wasn't set in her Tortall universe. I would like to take a moment to thank the librarian at the Huntsville Public Library who not only pointed this series out to me, but made .... sure that I checked the first three out. I loved this book. I still love this book. Like Pierce, I have always loved the idea of magic in everyday, 'mundane' activities. Finding books about it, however, was next to impossible. Until now. Mrs. Pierce, I look forward to more books in this universe. Heck, I look forward to anything you write!

Summary: Give 'em a try
Review: O.k listen. I hated the idea of new charaters. I love the tortall setting and I thought that was the end of it all intil the first test came out. Anyway, I tried reading it and I thought hey this is pretty tight and then got absorbed in them like the immortal and song of the lioness series. I thought that i was the only persom in the world who was absest with tamora pierce book then i saw this girl reading and realized i wasn't. yeah, i know i sound like a dork.I thinl george deserved alanna. Peace
