Review: This book just MADE our vacation! We never went anywhere without it, and could always trust the recommendations as up-to-date and honest. We found hidden beaches and great local restaurants we never would have found on our own! Lots of detailed information. Love the music too!

Review: We have been going to Kauai for 15 years and know this island well. However we always get the newest edition of Lenore's book. The restaurant reviews are indispensable, beach guides essential and hotel and all other activity and shopping evaluations invaluable. Review: We tried three, and this one was the best--had the most information, and was the most reliable. We used it like our bible, never went anywhere without checking! Restaurant reviews are great, always right on the nose! It never steered us wrong. We loved the CD--music is wonderful too!

Summary: an absolute must for every visitor to Kauai.
Review: Kauai Underground Guide is an indispensable travel book for every visitor - first time or returning. Restaurant reviews are honest and current with samples of the good dishes to order. Information on beaches, activities, & farmers markets is of biblical importance. We are eagerly awaiting the new edition because without the Guide we do not chance our vacation dollar! We were never disappointed with the advice yet, not for the seven summers we visited the island.

Summary: Best guidebook for families visiting Kauai
Review: Went to Kauai last year with kids. For families, this is definitely the best Kauai guidebook. It is very oriented to what both parents and children would like in terms of sights, beaches and restaurants. I also like that she "dares" to suggest that people on a limited budget might prefer a boat ride along the Na Pali coast instead of a helicopter ride. Having done both, I agree the boat ride was way more pure fun than the heliocpter, where the kids had a front seat view and Mom was squished in the back. Also found her restaurant recommendations more accurate than ohter guidebooks e.g. the Ultimate Kauai Guide. The only thing I would like to see added to the book would be more hotel/ condo reviews.

Summary: Kauai Undergroud from a Kauain's perspective.
Review: As a resident of Kauai, I see a great variation in quality among Kauai guidebooks. My wife and I consider the Kauai Underground best of the group, our first choice to give to friends and family when they visit Kauai. My wife buys about a half a dozen copies a year to give to visitors! Time after time we have found the book reliable in its directions and recommendations. Of particular value are the detailed restaurant reviews with current information on prices and honest observations about service and food value. It is the best!

Review: My husband and I used this book to plan our 1 week stay. We were able to accruately, with pleasure and with no disappointments, go to restaurants, beaches and entertainment with confidence. We saw the best sun set, ate the best meals, avoided traps, never got lost. I recommend this book for families, couples, honeymooners, everyone. Very thorough

Summary: A MUST for the Kauai Visitor!
Review: "Hat's off to the Horowitz family!!!". My wife and I just had a fabulous holiday on Kauai thanks, in part to the "Kauai Underground Guide" - 15th anniversary edition. We've never come across a guide that was so "in tune" with what we like and furthermore, one which was so accurate in all categories of information provided. We used timeshare accommodation in Princeville and Kapa'a and the guide greatly assisted us in finding beaches, restaurants and sights of interest. We couldn't find one paragraph that we disagreed with!!! As you can imagine, we are now the satisfied owners of a well-worn, dog-eared, Underground Guide complete with sunscreen stains! What a find! Keep up the good work - because we'll be going back to Kauai again! We have all of those other restaurants to try out and places to see!

Review: As someone who lives on Kauai, I see a great variation in quality among Kauai guidebooks. Of parrticular value are the detailed restaurant reviews with current information about prices and observations about service and food value. My wife buys about six copies a year as gifts for friends coming over!

Summary: The most complete guidebook available for Kauai.
Review: I just bought this guide book to prepare for a family vacation in May. It is the best guide book I have ever used! It put our minds to ease on many issues, and the fact that the author has traveled with kids of all ages makes this book uniquely useful (e.g., kid-friendly dining). FYI -- other guide books are more expensive, but this is the best. I would have paid more for it.
