Summary: This was a great book.
Review: This is a great book by Jerry spinelli. It tells about a boy who is an orphan named Jeffery Magee. He live's in Two Mills PA where there is a West End and a East End. Whites live on the West End and blacks live on the East End and no one crosses the street between the called Hector street. However, Jeffery Magee is not a typical kid. He is a fast runner and can be friends with just about everyone. In fact Jeffery is so good at everything that his name is changed to Maniac magee. He even dares to to cross the line between the West End and the East End. I like this book becouse it talks about his exotic life that is full of advetures. We also get to meet sevralexotic family's that he stays with throghout the book. some of them are black some are white. In the book he even stay's with the Buffaloes at the zoo!Imagin that?! You will just have to read this wonderfully written book if you whant to know more about Maniac.

Review: Heratbreak. Friandship. Racism. Knowing you have a home and a family. These are just of the things stored away for you in the heart of this book. In this book you will read about how people in a racially divded town feel about each other and that they do about it. For example, one family the McNab's don't even know blacks use thooth brushes like whites do and worse yet, the youngest McNab's, Russell and Piper, love to play "Rebels" {whites against blacks}they even fight over who has to be the blacks! Of course this is just one of the millons of problemsthat Maniac Magee has to overcome in this novel. I think Jerry Spinelliis putting himself in the story as Maniac because he wants to show that the color people are on the outside dosn't matter. It surely didn't matter to Maniac. he stayed with both kinds of people blacks and whites on his adventures and he loved them all!

Summary: The best book I have ever read.
Review: I liked the part when Maniac brung Mars Bars to Pipers Birthday Party because he used good description when he said Mars Bars stoped the party cold. I liked when he said the buffalo reconized him immediately because he spent most of his nights in the buffalo pen.

Summary: This book is the best.
Review: Have you ever read Maniac Magee? Well, if you haven't , here's the scoop! Maniac is like a hero. He's always there when somebody needs help. He can untie impossible knots. he can bunt homeruns on frogballs. But most important,he's not a racist! He has black friends that are like brothers and sisters to him! Color doesn't matter. He also finds an old man who is like a father to him. They're always there for eachother and they think they'll be together forever; but then something bad happens. Even this doesn't stop Maniac. He shows that he isn't scared of anything or anybody. All he wants is for everybody to be friends...especially the whits and blacks. No one should be cruel to others just because of their skin color. Maniac knows everybody is the same on the inside. Everyone has a heart! I think Maniac Magee is an interesting book about a boy who can do almost anything.

Summary: This was a wonderful book.
Review: Maniac Magee is about a boy whose parents die when he was 3 year old. Then Maniac went to live with his aunt and uncle but he did not like it there so he ran away to Two Mills, PA. There he meets alot of different people and changed their lives. I think it is wonderful how Maniac meets so many people and he makes friends with all of them eventually. I think Maniac Magee had tons of great stuff he had done and he had fun times and bad times . It has one sad part in all but the book was wonderful.

Summary: This Book Was Okay!
Review: Jeffrey Lionel Magee has exiting adventures from running on rail road tracks to meeting extrodinary people. Maniac starts this adventures at the town of Two Mills where the East End is seperated from the West End. The blacks from the whites. And as Maniac tries to understand this dividing racism all he sees are beautiful shades of brown not really black at all! Even though Maniac knows he is white,he can't help thinking that all those kinds of browns are more exiting than white! When Maniac finally feels he has a home Maniacs best friend dies and Maniac had to face the same tragdedy as when he was little with a death in the family. But Maniac doesn't give up. He continues with his hard hard life. As you read this book you will see what Maniac's life is all about as an adventure and as a teacher! I think Jerry Spinelli should write a sequelto this book, so we can find out what happens to Maniac Magee later in life!

Summary: This book was okay
Review: This book wasn't real good because it was about a weird kid that runs 200 miles to a place called Two Mills. His name is Maniac Magee. But he wasn't always named Maniac. First he was Jeffery Lionel Magee. Whatever his name, though, his life seemed like a whirlwind. His mom and dad got killed on a trolley and he is sent to live with his aunt and uncle. That's when he runs away to Two Mills where he met a black girl named Amanda Beale. Then he meets the HUGE Pickwell family. In between he meets the varsity football players and Arnold Jones. After staying with the Beales,he hit's a home run frog-ball. You'll have to read the book to find out what a frog-ball is. After a while he meets two boys named Russel and Piper McNab who run him off one day and invite him to a bithday party the next! See,I told you it was weird! But anyway, the main thing this book is about is racism. Two Mills is a divided place --whites on the West End,blacks on the East End-- and Hector Street is the line that no one dares to cross. No one but Maniac, that is! That was another reason I didn't like this book. It makes no sense to me why people would divide a town just because of the color of there skin. It's just like Mrtin Luther King Jr. said. People should not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character. Jerry Spinelli wrote very good details and a good story. But the story wasn't as good as the details!

Summary: this is a great book
Review: Manic Magee was a really cool book. It was about a boy who lived for a while, but then he ran away he ran and ran. Finally,in two mills,pa,he stopped running and strated meeting different people and sleeping in weird places like in the zoo in the buffolo cages were he slept . You could say he is a great athlete in baseball, because he hit the fastest picher ball in little lauge ball. this is one of those stories that has a little bit of everything in it action, drama, feeling, and even outright meanness. Manic Magee gose on a big advenher.

Summary: This book was great!
Review: I think Jerry Spinelli wrote the most fabulas book I've ever read,he wrote Maniac Magee. The whole point he tries to get across is that the black and white people in Two Mills could not get along! When maniac, the hero of the story, was born somone very important in his life gets taken away from him forever. As he lives his life he does weird and dangerous things that even grown-ups would never do. In fact maniac amazed me at what he could do!As you travel through Two Mills with Maniac you will find that you will get heartbroken when he loses another special person in his life. But that does not let that stop him,he goes on. He goes on seeing everyone equal no matter how mean or unfair or what color they are and he teaches people along the way a valuble lesson!
