Summary: real men cry, yeah, we get it
Review: I enjoy Brockman's stories, and I'll continue to follow this series, but I'm not sure this was the best book for her jump to hardcover. A more self-contained relationship might have been a better choice, rather than the culmination of the Sam and Alyssa story arc, which has stretched over all the previous books. The WWII romance was definitely toned down in this one, in deference to all the backstory needed to make Sam/Alyssa and Max/Gina make sense to new readers. I have two fairly minor beefs - first, is it just me or did all this background stuff about Sam and his dad and his aunt and uncle and Noah and whatnot spring from absolutely nowhere? Were there hints of this stuff in previous books that I just missed? Second, I really didn't think anyone could cry more than Wildcard did in Out of Control, but Sam managed it. Heck, even MAX cried a time or two. Now, I'll admit my little heart melts at the thought of a big, strong, SEAL-type moved to tears, but it's getting kind of overworked.

Review: I loved it. The two main characters were the main reason,plus the surprise twist about his ex-wife. I looked forward to the book and was not disappointed in the cost or the book. My husband also liked it, so two thumbs up from us.

The only problem I had, we do understand a lot about him, and his past, very little finally about her. But the series are not finished, I hope.

Review: I have been a devote follower of the Suzanne Brockmann Team 16 series since "The Unsung Hero" and I just have to say FINALLY Sam and Alyssa's story. I picked this up and within 5 hours had read the whole book. I laughed, and yes, I cried. I don't know if I would say that this is my favorite book, that would probably be "Out of Control" but it was definitely good. I am so happy that Sam and Alyssa finally worked everything out and anticipation does make it better! I did miss the normal action and steamy love scenes of her past books, but I still definitely enjoyed this one. The WWII storyline was so brief that the book would have been fine without it. Are Max and Gina going to get a book? That would be cool. I haven't heard anything about any future books within this series, and honestly don't know who they would contain unless it was Max and Gina. Anyways, definitely a wonderful book, I love Suzanne Brockmann and LOVE Navy Seals!!!!!!

Review: I was very very disappointed in this book, after eagerly awaiting it. It was too long, with too many story lines. It could have been made into a 200 page book. No sizzle and spark like the other books in this series.

Review: I could not wait for this book so when I read it I wanted to read it as slow as possible so I could savor it and for the first few days I managed too. But of course it didn't last long. I got hooked and didn't want to stop reading it. Although the Sam and Alyssa story wasn't my favorite. I thought the book as a whole was incredible. Suzanne Brockmann is an incredible writer. I would not have changed one thing about the story and now must wait for the next one, which I hope will be Max and Gina. Until then I must dream of Max instead of read about him.

Summary: Disappointed
Review: I am a huge fan of Suzanne Brockmann, but this book was not her usual suspense, drama and romance. I agree with readers from Watkinsville and Medina. In the beginning Sam was more worried about getting Alyssa back than his daughter. Also, Sam's character was so super sensitive and so unlike the Sam in the other books that his character wasn't Sam at all, but Ringo. There was very little suspense with Sam and Alyssa in this book, no shockers at all. There wasn't much SEAL action either. The only real action was at the end, which as one reviewer mentioned was tied up as neat as a bow. I have never been able to put any of Brockmann's books down until completely read. However, I had to make myself finish this book because it was so boring. I gave it two stars only because of Max and Gina.

Summary: Brockmann can do better
Review: After anticipating the conclusion to the Sam and Alyssa story for the last five Seal Team 16 books, I was sorely disappointed in this book. There were too many story lines introduced that interfered with the flow of the main story. Only about 40 percent of the book were devoted to the main characters, very little of which is spent on romance or even true character building. Ms. Brockmann seems to have been more concerned with setting up her newest story line (a civilian, covert agency) than giving her readers what they have been expecting. The ending or HEA for these two characters was very rushed and not supported by the action in this book. After her dismal efforts in Into the Night, this is a second strike for Brockmann.

Summary: I wasn't dissapointed!
Review: The long awaited story of Sam and Alyssa held me spellbound. I have read the reviews where a few readers were dissapointed and I can understand why, I just don't agree. I do agree that the sexual tension that was there in the previous books that S&A were in was absent, but that's all they did in the other books...have sex. In GTF, Sam and Alyssa actually got to know each other and the reader finally found out what made each person who they are today. I loved the prologue, as it was so Sam. I also loved the friendship that developed between Noah and Sam, for it had to have been hard for Sam when his father was such a racist redneck. Alyssa on the other hand was dealing with her own heartaches. I felt that Suz packed a lot of information into the book, but it wasn't overdone to me. Kelly and Tom finally got married in what I felt was a very fitting way. ML sure made a 180 with her feelings of anyone 'non-white'. The only thing that endeared her to me was her love for Haley. And we finally got Max's POV. I think he will be a very interesting character, for the facade he shows to the world is just that. Overall, I was very impressed and satisfied with the end of the book. Sure I would have loved for it to go on and on, but books end right!

Review: I was very disappointed in this book. I felt the plot was not good and it kept going back and forth. It was hard to follow. I probalby will not read one of hers again. I also did not like the language in it. I don't know why writers feel they have to use bad language to make a book. I was offended.
