Rating: Summary: Don't Miss This Book!!!! Review: I've read every one of Suzanne Brockmann's books and I've never been disappointed. With Gone to Far, her record is unbroken as far as I'm concerned. It seems like I've waited FOREVER for Sam Starrett and Alyssa Locke to get together and boy did they ever! This book is well written with snappy, humorous dialogue. We get wonderful insight into Sam's youth which makes him all the more loveable. Let's not forget Max and Gina - hopefully we'll see more of them in future books. To sum it all up, buy the book because you WILL NOT be disappointed! It will leave a smile on your face!!
Rating: Summary: Gone Too Fast!!! Review: Finally, Sam and Alyssa's story and it was gone too fast! I read it in such a hurry that I didn't get the chance to savor it like you should when reading one of Suz's books. I actually went to her NYC booksigning and met her as well as a live Navy Seal. Her energy comes through in her writing. If you haven't read this author, you don't know what you're missing. Fans have been waiting 2 years for this book and all of the pent up emotion it evoked was worth it. Besides the main characters, you get to see many of the others from her previous books like Tom & Kelly, Jazz and Max & Gina. There are many unexpected twists and turns that leave you wondering what could possibly be next. I could go on but I won't. Read it for yourself and enjoy!
Rating: Summary: the best of the lot Review: This book was the best, I have read all of her Navy SEAL's books and in my opinion it could not get any better, it was put together so well that you could not put it down until it was finished. Well done! Ms Brockmann.
Rating: Summary: About time Review: Sam and Alyssa got their own book. Been waiting for it forever and it didn't disappoint. I guess I've been obessing over a fictional charachter and the book filled in all the blanks on him. Thanks for a great book Ms. Brockmann.
Rating: Summary: One of the best books I've ever read. Review: After waiting so long for this book, I tore into it as soon as I bought it and all I have to say is WOW! I love this book so much and I'm in love with Sam. Can I have one of him please! First of all; thank you, thank you, thank you for writing this book. Being an african-american woman myself(with other ethnic backgrounds in my ancestory, too) I was pleasantly surprised at how well Brockmann writes Afr.- Amer. characters. They're so real with different personalities. She doesn't make the mistake that I see so often when a black person is sort of thrown in a book and is made to be so stereotypical, saying things like,"girlfriend and yo,bro." And not just with Afr.-Amer. characters but I love how multi-ethnic this book is. Why can't other authors write like her. It seems like she gets it. I love how she weaves all the stories together and even though we the reader know who done it, we still are anxious to see how the characters will solve the mystery. Max and Gina, Tom and Kelly, and Ihbraham are back. Which was great because I know I was wondering the outcome of they're stories. Brockmann ties everything up so neatly that I'm wondering if this book was the last of the series. I hope not because a book about XO Jazz would be great. Overall this book was great. Great writing, great love, just great. I laughed, I cried, I fell in love with Sam, and I wanted to kick Max in the butt(the stupid jerk)! Thanks again Suzanne, it was well worth the wait!
Rating: Summary: Suz has done it again Review: Well worth not waiting for the paperback. If you're not addicted to Suz's Team 16 books, then don't start with GTF. Start at the beginning. This might not be my favorite of the series but I couldn't put it down. Lots happening here. Loved the WWII angle in this one. I cried, I laughed and now I have to wait for the next one. I want to be Suz Brockmann when I grow up. Jaxine Daniels, author and huge Suz fan
Rating: Summary: Well Worth Waiting For! Review: Some sequels are a real disappointment -- but not this one!! Ms. Brockmann tied everything together with this book. Not only do we find Alyssa and Sam's story -- which, by the way, gives us a great insight into the real man beneath Sam's "wise guy" exterior --but we learn more about Max Baghat's involvement with the highjacking victim from "On The Edge" and the main characters from "The Unsung Hero" finally tie the knot. While the plots of both today's story and the interwoven story from World War II are both well-written, I believe that Ms. Brockmann's strength is her ability to give life to characters that readers become involved with and can truly care about. I have been reading Ms. Brockmann since before the Alpha Squad stories that she did for Silhouette (a new one is on the way) and she had never yet written a book I didn't like. Ms. Brockmann's fans will love this one and new readers will be looking for the previous books! I can't wait to see where we go from here, since there was no teaser for a new book in the back of this one. Will we get more of the Troubleshooters of the Seal teams or are we going to go civilian? Please don't keep us waiting too long, Suzanne!!!
Rating: Summary: **Excellent Series*** Review: While each of her books stand independently, I strongly recommend reading the whole series; it will totally enrich your reading pleasure. I also hope that this is not her last in this series. I want Jules to have an adventure plus it is so fun to catch up on past characters. I really enjoyed Tom and Kelly finally getting married (they stared in the first book). Her characters are soooo real. I would also love to hear more from Sam and Alyssa. They would make an excellent movie. Once you start reading Suzanne Brockmann you will become a HUGE fan as her stories are intriguing and interwoven to add depth. She NEVER disappoints. Happy reading!!
Rating: Summary: Suz just keeps getting better and better! Review: Don't worry, no spoilers here! Once again, the queen of SEALS (and the princess of the "tease") has outdone herself! GONE TOO FAR fulfills all of our high expectations in just exactly what Sam and Alyssa's book should be. A lot of loose ends are tied up in this book...and of course Ms. Brockmann creates new "ends" to hopefully be tied up in equally intriguing sequels. GONE TOO FAR contains so much great stuff, you'll read it again and again. (Certainly a keeper). You'll laugh, cry, gasp, sigh and scream because Suz KNOWS how to engage her readers. And if you haven't gotten into the SEALS series - -don't worry, this book does an excellent job of standing alone. You will, however, want the backlist! I had extremely high expectations of GONE TOO FAR and I'm happy to say I was not let down. I am, however, anxiously awaiting Ms. Brockmann's next effort. She's put herself in the league of auto-buys with Linda Howard, Elizabeth Lowell and Nora Roberts. Well done, Ms. Brockmann! More please!
Rating: Summary: Worth the wait and then some! Review: For fans of Ms. Brockmann's U.S. Navy SEAL Team 16 series, this book has been a long time coming - 6 books in fact. And it is well worth the wait! For those lucky readers just now discovering Brockmann's thrilling blend of suspense, nail-biting action, steamy sexual encounters, and characters who jump off the page, don't worry. You should have little trouble following the action-packed plot. But BEWARE. Once you finish this satisfying read, you'll want to run out [or click and] buy all her other books - starting with Unsung Hero. Happy news...she's a prolific writer so you'll have lots of great stories to choose from. Ms. Brockmann is a gifted storyteller. She weaves many seemingly unrelated plot threads together and builds incredibly strong secondary characters. Be prepared to care about Lt. Sam Starrett and FBI agent Alyssa Locke, to Lt. Commander Tom Paoletti, FBI agent Jules Cassidy and SO many more. As any long-time reader can attest...you may not like all her characters, but you won't be indifferent to any of them. So do yourself a favor...read this book!
