Summary: Interesting, but...
Review: The genes that define racial characteristics make up .06% of the human genome. In fact, all humans have at least 99% identical genes (excluding x and y chromosomes when comparing women and men). It's entirely possible that a white man and his white neighbor have more genetic differences than a white man and a black man. Having stated these facts, I believe most opinions on race to be ill-founded and mostly just rhetoric. David Duke, while certainly not only person engaging in it, certainly takes this to a new high in this book. In order to be able to understand race, you must understand that genetically speaking, there are no races. The book does however give some insight into Duke's persona, which makes it an interesting read in that sense.

Summary: a powerful book by a courageous and honest man
Review: This book is just great! Duke presents fact after fact to show how white people are betrayed by the government and the media and who is responsible for it.This book is not racist or hateful it is just honest. David Duke is a person who is is anxious about the future of the white people and who dares to speak out the truth. Every open-minded white person should read this book. It`s a must!

Summary: Proud American
Review: This book is silly! I decided to read this only to see, as Jim Rohn says how horrible a person can become. My wife and I are proud Americans who happen to be black. Amazingly, my wife graduated #1 with a 4.0/4.0 scale from a school that was 98% white. She has a Math degree from an Ivy League University! I have a college degree and finished with honors. Now, based on Dukes "Theories," this shouldn't be! The minority class in this country is too big and powerful for any movement of this kind to be successful. WAKE UP AND STOP DREAMING.

Summary: A Seminal Work?
Review: The potential of MY AWAKENING will, I am sorry to have to admit, be limited by the number of Americans who still have the intellectual curiousity to seek the truth,and the even smaller number who have the moral courage to recognize and accept the truth when they stumble over it. One caveat: I do hope later editions have fewer typos!

Summary: Don't let the name callers succeed at hiding the truth
Review: Modern trends in "warfare". - Warfare is less becoming a battle between "Nations" in the current sense, and more about Nations in the traditional sense (Nations being a "people", a common ethnic/genetic group). - The victors in a war rewrite history to their liking, since they are in power. "The first victim of war is the truth". - Modern tools of "warfare"(financial, property, ideological control) are silent. Gone are the days of mustard gas, rifles and storming the beach at Normandy. Why go to all this bother (and perhaps awaken your enemy to the war being waged), when silent and much more effective methods are going so well? - As in a court of law, to understand the war, you must first understand the facts, and then the motivations of the players. As in the OJ Case, the prosecution tried to explain OJ's motives, or why he might be inclined to act a certain way.But, you say [Why should I believe I am at war? Who are the people who wish to rule and perhaps exterminate me? Sure, I am heavily in debt, and I sense that something is not quite right, but if I were besieged, wouldn't I know it? Wouldn't somebody tell me? I have the best form of government in the world. I have a representative in Congress who looks out for my interest. I watch "Good Morning America", and Katie Couric tells me anything of real importance, right?] I reply: First you need to look at the historical perspective of cultures, and ethnic histories. What doctrine drives a group of peoples to do what they do? Then you look at the resulting effects of implementation of behaviors, beliefs, and control of the financial, media, government, and ideological makeup of the population at large. Why does something become a "fact" to us? Because it comes into our belief system through repetition, and by correlation with other perceived truths in our day-to-day experience. Do some people have a vested interest in promoting a certain perspective? Is academic freedom a part of this? Certainly, professors and researchers at Universities only seek to find the truth, right? Remember, in war, the objective is victory. All other goals are secondary. This book caused a "paradigm shift" in me, in that it exposes facts and beliefs hidden from public view. We have seen that the enemies of freedom are extremely smart, diligent, and well financed (often with our "public" money). The only defense in this war against us is to learn, read, study, question commonly held beliefs, and take action to protect your financial, physical, and cultural existence. Realize the strategy of name calling ("hate group", "bigot", "homophobe", "racist") is not a strategy of understanding or intellectual discovery. It is a strategy aimed at discrediting the speaker, quelling the debate, and winning-promoting the propaganda and belief systems of those who own the means of production (the media). Not realizing the fact that the war of ideas is underway only helps the enemy. Name calling is very effective. If the silent majority come to the understanding of the facts and the outrageous (often hidden) actions of the enemy, there will be a huge change in America back in the right direction. That is what this book is able to do. The facts can be effectively hidden by those motivated to hide them, but when shown the light of day, these undeniable facts stand on thier own merit. Please don't let the mass media image of Mr. Duke stop you from looking at the facts, and the history, yourself. The future of America, and our children's world depends on it. It depends on your ability to become "awakened" to the facts, and to see the reasons why our current culture, belief systems, and economy are on the track that they are on.

Summary: Duke and His Admirers Need a Real Awakening
Review: Every person who is impressed with Duke's "research" and "statistics" should ask him or herself one question. Even if Duke is right, and Jews run America and are at the root of major historical catastrophes, blacks are genetically inferior, and multi-ethnic societies historically haven't survived, the question is: What does he realistically propose to solve these "problems"? His book really doesn't address that issue squarely and with good reason! Hitler faced a similar "problem," that is the question of what to do with the Jews who he and his minions, the Nazis, perceived to be at the root of Germany's and the world's ills. Hitler and the Nazis developed several solutions, which progressed from the expulsion of Jews from Germany, to relocation, to concentration, to extermination (genocide). Duke doesn't explicitly write that he wants any of the most extreme "solutions." I would hope that even most of Duke's most fervent followers would not support forced confinement or genocide. However, Duke wants an all-white, non-Jewish America! How does he propose we get to that result! Today, there are over 5 million Jews in America, as well as 37 million blacks, 30 million Hispanics, 9 million Asians, and over 2 million Native Americans. Furthermore, everyday thousands of non-whites enter this country legally and illegally. That's to say nothing of the millions upon millions of "whites" who have various amounts of "non-white" ancestry. What would Duke suggest we do with all of these people? Expell them? Relocate them? Or what... I have an idea as to what Duke really proposes, and not only is that prospect scary, but strangely enough it's unrealistic. It is impossible to have the America Duke wants! This country has never been all-white and non-Jewish and it never will be. Hitler failed in "ridding" Germany of Jews and even if people like Duke came to power in America, they certainly would fail too with their "ethnic-cleansing". The moment Duke and his admirers realize that fact will be the moment they experience a real awakening.

Summary: The Most Important Book Of The 21st Century!
Review: When I finished reading MY AWAKENING, I knew I'd just witnessed the birth of a movement. If enough White people read this, it WILL bring on a revolution! I agree with the other reviewers who feel this book was a life-changing experience for them. This book moved me like no other I've ever read. I now freely loan out my autographed copy to friends who need to know the extent the mainstream media has been lying to them. I'm planning to buy more copies to donate to my local library. That's how strongly I feel this message must get out. If you are European-American and care about the future your children will have to face, READ THIS BOOK!

Summary: Absence of Understanding
Review: After reading David Duke's self-absorbed musings on the subject of racial understanding, it is abundantly clear to me that here is a man as much in the dark about the meaning of race, social, economic and political power, or for that matter America, as are the other mindless, bleeting sheep of his ilk. This book traces not a path to racial understanding, but navigates a narrow-minded and cynical course toward a thinly veiled brand of neo-fascism. To suppose that Duke advocates for the white race ignores two transparent premises: 1) that we don't need him to advocate for us, when in America it is foundational that must embrace the credo e pluribus unum, or die; and 2, that the structure and locus of power in America still remains largely in the hands of white men. The American political elite have always been strongly interested in safeguarding their hegemony through the manipulation of tensions between increasingly marginalized, middle class whites, and people of color. The understanding that Duke needs to awaken to is economic, not racial. Finally, if he hasn't comprehended the fact that America rightly belongs to Native Americans, if anyone at all, and that his "observations" amount to the rantings of a frustrated, racist demagogue from the back waters of Louisiana, then he needs a stiffer jolt of reality. This book will only have value to those fearful of thinking for themselves.

Summary: I love it
Review: really love this book. Many other reviewers have already said a lot about it. So I will only add something personal. I have read a few Christian (I am a born-again Christian) books on the subject. but found all of them bad. What I did not know when I purchased the book--and this was a great surprise--is that David Duke is a born-again, evangelical Christian. His book is however much better than those I read, David Duke is very intelligent, very well read and thinks really sharply. His conclusions are the best ones for Christians as for non-Christians. I heartly recommend it to anyone living in a multi-racial country.

Summary: "My Awakening" Destined to Change the Course of History
Review: In "1984" George Orwell stated, "In a world of deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act." Likewise, in "Why I Write" George Orwell states, "I write it because there is some lie that I want to expose, some facts to which I want to draw attention, and my initial concern is to get a hearing." David Duke's "My Awakening" may be one of the best books ever written precisely because David Duke is the embodiment of truth. His intent is to awaken us and draw attention to the pervasiveness of political-correctness that is so rampant in our deteriorating culture. His warning is very simple, indeed: The destruction of our European heritage as the building block of this nation is the beginning of the end. I urge everyone to read this book and be shaken to the foundation of your own very core. This is the book that will fill that deep spiritual void. David Duke is a true-and-tried American patriot whose name will be given to history. May God bless and protect David and his family.
