Rating: Summary: A most valuable reference! Review: This book is very well written, with very good examples. Of all the HTML books I've purchased, this one is the one that I'll keep nearby for future reference. Highly recommended!
Rating: Summary: VERY GOOD BOOK Review: Each tag is explained (well) in one or two pages. Short and sweet, like I was looking for. The only complaint is that I wish it had a spiral-type binding (then it would lay flat on the desk better). Buy this book if your learning html or need a reference. ST
Rating: Summary: Awesome book Review: This book was very good. It clearly explained almost every single tag in the book. It also has a support site where you can see the code to examples and email the author. As it says on the back cover-"Concise, straightforward... explains what you need to know." If you need information on this book, visit the companion web sites... When I work on my web pages, I keep it at my side.

Rating: Summary: Best reference - Best resource - Best book to learn HTML Review: Great book! I had just begun an adult course on HTML. I bought this and it helped clarify what I was learning and introduced concepts clearly. It also comes with a color chart with thier 6-digit codes to be used as backgrounds. Chapters are short, clear and easy to understand with visuals step-by-step. Anyone can learn. Rating: Summary: Best HTML book around! :-) Review: I have owned the first and second editions of this book...was there a third that I missed? I learned to do my webpage designs basically from this book alone. I have others, but they just tended to confuse me more than anything. I've recommended this book to others, have given my older editions away as I get the updated edition and will continue to do so. Very easy to read and understand. By far, the BEST HTML book around! I recommend this book to anyone just learning to do web pages or to those with some experience who wish to increase their knowledge base using an easy to follow method. The sample pages and actual examples of the coding make it easy for even those who may consider themselve "computer illiterate" to understand how to design basic and more advanced web pages in little time. This is a definite "BUY IT!" I'm hoping to get this newest edition for Christmas! ;)
Rating: Summary: Pretty darn good Review: I have been using this book for about 4 months, and find it easy to navigate and generally quite helpful. Every once in a while, I need more detailed information that isn't included in the book. But, as a beginner's guide, it's good.
Rating: Summary: This book is perfect! On a scale of 1-5, it's a 100000000+! Review: If you get an HTML book, this should be the one. It's a good price, and has tons of help for beginners to experts. (Actually, I have only seen an older version, but the only difference between the two is the information.) Buy this book if you are in need of a reference on HTML, Spreadsheets, and tons more!
Rating: Summary: Complete and concise. Great reference tool. Review: This is the second book by Elizabeth Castro I've purchased. It is well written, easy to understand and has been more ueful to me than the HTML Bible.
Rating: Summary: Great Book for beginners in HTML 4.0! Review: I have read many very positive comments about Elizabeth Castro's style of writing and presentation and I agree with them. Her book on HTML 4.0, is not only very clearly presented and layed out, but also is very much understandable for anyone, even without previous HTML experience, as she goes through the basics in the first chapter. However, there is one thing that is not enough specified throughout the book: the issue of compatibility between Netscape and IE. Although she does points it out in a few spots, like for the border colors of tables, when I tried all the other tags, that are supposed to work on Netscape, I discover that they often don't. But they all work on IE. I thought that I was doing something wrong, but then, I went to other pages written with HTML 4.0 tags and figured out that they only fully worked with IE. So, I think she should frankly say, in her introduction, that this new version of HTML mostly works only for IE. For this reason, I give her book "only" 4 stars. But, it is still a very good book I recommand to anyone who is passionated by the www.
