Summary: HTML for the world wide web is awesome!
Review: HTML for the world wide web was the top book I read about HTML. It helped me learn all HTML basics in a week! Iam now teaching my friends and some family HTML. The book is great!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Great as an overview, an introduction to all aspects of HTML
Review: Can't think of a better place to start. Great for beginners, and experienced developers might use this book to occasionally refresh their memories.

Summary: Too many cats spoil the book
Review: Should be called The Catlover's Visual QuickStart Guide. The many cutesy examples involving cats made me want to fwow up an HTML ball. I've filed a complaint with the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Humans.

Summary: A Must Have From All Web Designers
Review: If you are in search of an easy to read and usable book on HTML 4 then this is it. It is indeed very informative, written in language that is practical and easy to understand. If you need to do ANY web design at all, are a hobbyist and especially if you are a student like me BUY IT! I usually don't go in for the Visual Quickstart books as they are over simplified in their approach HOWEVER this text is clear concise and practical. The book does not lean toward Mac users nor PC but presents information on HOW the two big browsers (I.E. and Netscape) handle HTML 4. What browser supports what tag and or code etc. Great reference to have at your desk and learning the raw HTML really does give you more control over your design. In closing there are great sections on Cascading Style Sheets and Publishing on the web. The best out there so far for ages 10-100.

Summary: A great book for anyone wanting to learn HTML!
Review: I had never read a book on computers that was concise, informative and easy-to-read... until I read this book. The book is great for a beginner, since it includes all of the very basic knowledge needed to begin coding, yet is still great for a experienced web designer, since it is comprehensive and appropriate for use as a reference book. I strongly suggest it!

Summary: This is semi-good book.
Review: If you have never made a web page, this book is good for you. But for the advanced user, you may want something else. Also the book is more Mac oriented, a major problem. No one uses's Mac's anymore.

Summary: Not just for beginners!!
Review: I bought this book 2 years ago and still drag it around with me. The cover is falling off it gets used much. Everyone in the office always wants to borrow it because it's a great quick reference for advanced WebMasters and the perfect training wheels for beginners. A must have!! This book and the JavaScript QuickStart are the foundation to my WebDesigns.

Summary: The book was concise and helpful
Review: I'm a beginning programmer that found that this book was extremly helpful and educational. It tought me enough to make a very nice and quite large home page. The whole page was made without the help of a WYSIWYG editor, just HTML code. It was a big help.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: A clear, comprehensive reference.
Review: Forget Front Page. This book makes raw HTML easy to write. The book is well organized and cross referenced. This book is a definite fingertip reference.
