Summary: I read this book in 2 days. I couldn't put it down!
Review: I read this book in 2 days which is quite a miracle considering that I hate to read. It was an act of unbeliveable courage for Donny to write this. I really admire him for being more human than most people I know. We very often see celebrities as being super-human, this book makes it clear that they are regular people with different jobs. I always thought that Donny was a great entertainer but I never realized what he had to go through to please so many others. He is a real inspiration!!! This book is also great for young teens because he has lead such a clean lifestyle (but not without his problems). I would also recommend this book to anyone who has ever had a panic attack and felt like they were "loosing it". It makes you realize that you're not alone. Even the "untouchable" celebrities have thier problems and flaws. You have to read this book!!!

Summary: Donny Osmond - Life is Just What You Make It
Review: Being a fan of Donny's for the past 28 years, I purchased this book as soon as it came out and read it in two days. I thought I knew everything about him and was surprised after reading it how much I did not know. I found the book to be very honest, easy to read, and enjoyable. Donny has had to struggle through a lot just because of the name "Donny Osmond". I applaud him for all he had to overcome, the courage and strength he has shown, and the fact that he did not turn to drugs or alcohol as so many child stars have done. He should be proud of the man he has become. There are a lot of ignorant people still out there who still make fun of Donny. They are the ones who need to read this book - and read it with an open mind.

Review: As a Child of the late 70's, who grew up in New Kids on The Block Time, I have to say, this book, is by far the best book, I have ever read! I am also a wrestling fan & just Like HITMAN HART-Wrestling with Shadows, Donny holds nothing back.He tells about all the things big or small that has ever happened, he tells about everything---while keeping the reader in lauhter or tears or whichever part your reading at the time. This Book is one of the greatest Books, I have ever read, it is definatly the best autobiography I have ever read. This book is page turner through & throuh, it is also the only book I have ever read, that has stayed with me, but it certainly has!

Summary: Way to Go, Donny
Review: As a child and teenager, I was one of the girls who hung on every word that Donny uttered, every joke he ever told - every gesture that he made seemed just for me. Then I grew up.

Now 32 years later, I have rediscovered all the things that I think continue to make Donny special. In his book, he discusses what being in the spotlight, constantly scruitizied by fans and foes alike - and the tremendous pressure he put himself under to live up to what he thought was expected of him. You are also introduced to a man who has maintained his principles, kept his faith, and struggled through the good and bad - just like the rest of us. His revelation of his 'social phobia' is one he did not have to share - yet through his pain and discomfort - others may benefit! The world could use more people that have Donny's integrity, and sensibilities to know what is truly important in the world - family, faith and spreading goodness. Not in a 'goody-goody' way, but by setting a postive role model for himself and others. I am grateful for the sacrifices and the caring which he showed toward others. We could all use a lot of that in our lives! Hats off to you, Donny!

Summary: Inspiring read.
Review: I use to have Donny and Marie dolls when I was little ... in fact, I still have them packed away in a closet somewhere. And, I loved Donny's come-back CD "Soldier of Love." So, I had to read his book. What I found, in doing so, was a story of how Donny kept his faith, dignity, and sense of humor through it all. Teen idols come and go, but Donny illustrates through his life story that it the fade can just be a bump in the road ... and with determination, you can keep shining bright. Even those who aren't Osmond fans, could come away from this book somehow inspired.

Summary: Meet a Real Man
Review: I disagree with the reviewer who said you would only like this book if you'd been a fan of Donny Osmond in the 70s. I'd never heard him sing a song before I saw JOSEPH on video; I read the book and will reread it because it reveals, poignantly but never heavy handedly, a man with an actual emotional life. A man who has grown emotionally and is willing to analyze the process dispassionately, and invite us in. If you want to know what a real man is like, get this book.

Summary: Life is Just What You Make It.
Review: I have been a loyal fan, as many, for over 30 years. I would recommend this book. It is a book of the woman behind the man. You could feel Donny's love for his wife and family ooze out of the pages. Donny's story shows the strength we all have inside to overcome trying times. I have a strong respect for Donny. Needless to say I love the book and thank Donny for writing it.
