Rating: Summary: Good Book Review: While I'm more of a fan of The Jackson 5 i found the Osmond's quite Interesting.their whole upbringing on National Television had to have had some kind of effect.but Donny seems to be strong and taking one day at a time.it's cool that him&Marie have been close it their Individual times of need.this was a good solid read.Patricia Romanowski is a good author i read her Book on Latoya Jackson.that was a good book as well.
Rating: Summary: No Big Surprises! Review: In his book Osmond answers many of the questions we always wondered about. Was family life so idylic, were there any rows? No it wasn't, and yes there were! However is is comforting to know that family life was more normal than we were led to believe during the height of Osmond mania. It says a lot for how the man is regarded when a heavy drinker such as myself can feel shocked at Donny's confession as to having considered trying alcohol to help overcome his stage fright. I won't spoil it for you by letting on whether a drop of the evil brew touched his lips or not. You will have to read the book and find out. Donny comes across as being the man we always thought he was, genuine, caring, and a thoroughly good egg, but a psychologial wreck. If you ever considered putting your children on the stage, I reckon you might think again after reading this. An excellent book, but you will have to be an Osmond's fan or around during the seventies to enjoy it. Don't bother otherwise.
Rating: Summary: Absolutly a GREAT book! Review: I could not stop reading it.Donny lets you get right into his world as if you were right there. As a fan growing up I was able to find out things I would always wonder about when I had the posters all over my wall and going to all the concerts. It shows what a wounderful, caring person he is.I have so much respect for him.
Rating: Summary: A BOOK FOR ADMIRERS OR NOT Review: The book is a good read and you don't have to be a fan(I have been one since 1970).I always liked the Osmonds music and shows. Mr.Osmond tells us how he dealt with a life of fame and not the stories we once read in Tiger Beat or Sixteen Magazine. You are very luckey to have the parents, siblings and your lovely wife in your life to become the man you are today. Thank you for makeing the public aware that even when one becomes famous, one can still be good, honest and keep his religous belifs, even if others in this world think other wise. Good Luck.
Rating: Summary: Heartwarming, Courageous Book that EVERYONE should read! Review: This is a must read book, not just for Donny Osmond Fans, but for anyone who needs a lift in their life! Donny tells his story of fame, fortune and inner struggle from the heart, yet does not slam or blame other people in the process. It is a truly inspirational story, that EVERYONE should read! I cried and I laughed...and found the book impossible to put down. Thank-You Donny and Patricia, for letting me see the Donny I never saw when I was a little girl and making him even more real to me!
Rating: Summary: My First Crush Review: I have always admired Donny, but after reading his book, I admire him even more. It takes a lot of gutts to share such deep parts of your life and Donny did it so well. It makes people see that he is only human and has feelings and problems just like everyone else. He is not perfect, but who is! I recommend this book to any Osmond fan - original and new.
Rating: Summary: A life story so fulfilling to readers Review: I read the book and i thought it was well written. It was emotional and exciting life story about the ups and downs of donny's life. I enjoyed reading it as well.
Rating: Summary: Enjoyable account of a childhood celebrity Review: I picked up this book with some trepidation, expecting it to be just another tell-all expose'. However I was pleasantly surprised. Osmond discusses, in depth, his feelings surrounding his childhood, as well as his religious beliefs. I was expecting to find accounts of womanizing, drugs,& alcohol, (as so many other former childhood celebrities reveal) but pleasantly there is none of that. He seems to have come out of his celebrity studded childhood and adolescence ( as well as his "lean years") and has matured into a genuine good-guy. Its nice to know there are still some of them around.
Rating: Summary: It's not another "Poor Me" celebrity autobiography. Review: I loved it! I read it cover-to cover in one sitting. I was afraid it was going to be a "poor me" story. It definitely was not. Yes, Mr. Osmond does talk about the challenges of being a child star, but there is no bitterness in it. It's not a "revenge" book either as are so many celebrity autobiographies today. The situations involving other that he does cite he does with objectivity - recognizing others' points of views. So, if that's what it's not, then what is it? It is like being a fly on the wall in the life of Donny Osmond. So many of us watched him grow up and saw his life from the outside in. Here we get a chance to learn what it was like from his perspective. It challenges some of what we thought we knew about Donny and lets us get a glimpse into the very real, very normal person behind the image and, as the book jacket reads "fall in love with him all over again".
Rating: Summary: Awsome, touching and suprising insite into Donny's life. Review: It's a can't put down kind of book. Awsome, touching and suprising insight into the life of someone we all 'grew-up' with. He's like our brother or best friend, even though we've never met him or his family. I was moved to tears in parts and laughed with him in others. I was truely amazed at how much I enjoyed this book. My respect and appreciation for Donny Osmond and the entire Osmand clan, although already high, is even higher. Thank you Donny for sharing the deepest part of your being with us. Thank you Debbie for allowing him to do so. May our Heavenly Fathers blessings be upon you alway.
