Summary: Fascinating bio of my childhood idol
Review: Oh, gosh, I just loved Donnie Osmond when I was a kid. It is so fascinating to read what was going on in his life and the stories behind the scenes. Even if you are not a fan, it is fascinating to read about how this family handled its success and fame and kept such values and morals. This is a biography that was written with honesty and openness.

Summary: A captivating book that takes the reader down memory lane.
Review: I recently took a trip down memory lane and was sad to read that a public that can be so adoring can also be so cruel. I was left with a wonderful sense of Donny's love; for his parents, his children, his siblings, but more importantly for his wife. I am also left with a respect and admiration for the boy and the man who lived his life just as he made it.

Summary: Donny Osmond for President!
Review: Here is a man who has stuck by his values; he is truly a role model for our ever crumbling society. I truly enjoyed the book and have a new found respect for the Osmond clan.

Summary: An easy to read, enjoyable trip down memory lane
Review: Although I was a bit young to be a screaming fan of Donny Osmonds, he was my first "puppy love" and I enjoyed reading his book. His open, honest telling of both the good and the bad made for a very entertaining book, and yet he managed to refrain from "bashing" anyone, like so many star written books do. I thoroughly enjoyed the book and recommend it to any Donny fan!

Summary: The next best thing to reminising with Donny!!!
Review: If ever I could sit down and have a life chat with Donny, Iwould want it to be like the book. Donny talks from the heart andlets you know his feelings. If you are a true Donny fan, the information and pictures will not be enough - you will hunger for the sequel. If you are just curious about the gorgeous teeny-bopper that grew up in the same time space as yourself, then Donny, as always, will not disappoint you.

Summary: Wholesome + talented = Donny Osmond (and family)!
Review: How very refreshing to read a book about a special life without having to read any garbage words. We need more people in this world like the Osmonds. They too have their ups and downs but do not lose sight of their values and the people in their lives. God is looking down at us and saying, "I gave you paradise and all that you had to do for me was to take care of each other. No one should be homeless or hungry." "What did you show me in return but greed and violence toward one another and Mother Earth who is being polluted." "Doesn't anyone care anymore?"

Donny, I am 51-years young and have experienced anxiety attacks. I was on medication for a while but decided to defeat the attacks on my own. Exercise helps. I forgot how to handle stress because I had so much over the years and kept my sad feelings buried. I put on weight and then became depressed. I am a good person with a big heart but going through life overweight is tough. I am working on liking myself. Exercise and the love from family and friends really helps but first you have to love yourself.

Sorry to go on like that, but his book made me once again think about what is truly important....people.

Donny and Marie, I wish you and all of the Osmonds continued success but more important....good health, happiness and peace. You two are still adorable. The two of you together are alot of fun!

Your fan....Vivian P. Burns in San Diego

Summary: honest, love of his family and his religion
Review: as a fan of his i thought it was a great way to know the real donny not the singer. i really enjoyed reading about his not so typical childhood and overcoming his panic attacks. this book really opened my eyes on the way he grew up with a very loving family. it's too bad how he and debbie had to hide their love for each other from the magazines and papers. no one should have to deguise themselves to go out in public no matter who they are. debbie should get alot of credit for having to put with the press and others for getting into the personal life that her and donny wanted for their family. this book is the best one i've read in a long time. thank you donny for letting us know you better.

Summary: I couldn't put it down!!!
Review: I have always loved the Osmonds and admired them so. I now have an even greater appreciation and respect for Donny. He is such a down to earth person, a regular guy who seems to have had ups and downs like the rest of us and perhaps not as great of a childhood as we may have thought. But, like his book states, "Life is what you make of it" and that is so true in his case. I just wish him the best for he and his family always. Stay positive, Donny!!

Summary: The joy and pain and joy and pain of Donny Osmond
Review: A very honest portrait of a star who was tossed aside when the world of show business decided it had had enough of Donny. The most interesting part of this portrait is the pain Donny experienced throughout his life, which is more apparent through what's not written than what is. He's so easy to like. Biggest disappointment is that there is not a big enough emotional catharsis. He seemed to get over his anxiety disorder rather quickly, although in real life, I'm sure it was a painful road to recovery. Also, my only question was --- if he was bankrupt and didn't have any money coming in, how did he support his family and who paid for his travel around the country? It never seemed that Donny was ever down and out --- just not in the celebrity limelight. Still, this is a great read and makes you want to call Donny up on the phone and invite him over for a piece of cake.

Summary: We Need more Donny Osmonds in this world.
Review: I applaud Donny. I read his book within 2 days and I started reading it again. As a child in the 60's I was teased for loving Donny and I don't regret it. Admiring and following the Osmond family, and the support of my own loving family, kept me straight and out of trouble all my life. Donny shouldn't have to be embarassed about being Donny Osmond. With the way children are teased and abused and victimized by other children in today's world, the kids today should read his book and learn how such actions could affect someone. If they are the ones being teased, then follow his footsteps in dealing with verbal and emotional abuse by society. Maybe if more people read his book they will think twice about not accepting people for who they are. I hope Donny writes additional books in the future, he is as talented in writing as he is in entertaining.
