Summary: Excellant... almost progressive
Review: Steer clear of this (and TFTO) if 30-second TV ads strain your attention span.... if you're afraid of 9 minute songs, you'll miss out; try Black. However, AJFA seems to have the best lyrics and lead guitar solos of any MetallicA album. It might be their best.

Summary: Killer Riffs, Very Epic, but where's the Bass?
Review: And Justice for All is on the whole an outstanding metal album, with songs like "And Justice for All", "Blackened" and "One" demonstrating the epic scale MetallicA brought to their songwriting and lyrics before the dark days of LOAD and RE-LOAD(of crap.) A major shortcoming of AJFA, however, is its complete lack of bass in the sound mix. There is nothing to add depth to the inspired guitar work of Hammett and Hetfield or to augment the ferocious percussion of Ulrich. It's a real shocker to hear MetallicA w/o great basswork, as Cliff Burton was as talented with a 4 string as anyone, I challenge somebody to say he was not an EXTREMELY gifted bass player. Anyway, Newsted's sound is utterly lost in the mix and it leaves many of the tracks, especially "Blackened", sounding like they are unfinished. Overall, an outstanding work on the whole.

Review: WITHOUT A DOUBT, THIS HAS TO BE METALLICA'S BEST ALBUM. THE SONGS, FOR THE MOST PART, START SLOWLY, GIVING YOU A CALM FEELING AND THEN THE METAL HITS YOU LIKE A BRICK WALL. HE ANGER IN ONE AND PROMISER OF SORROW WILL GIVE YOU CHILLS, AND THE SPEED OF BLACKENED IS JUST INCREADABLE. IF YOU ARE A METALLICA FAN AND YOU DON'T LIKE OR HAVE THIS ALBUM, YOU AREN'T A REAL FAN AT ALL. THIS IS METALLICA AT ITS FINEST!!!! A MUST HAVE!!!!

Summary: Metallica's best album...
Review: If you dont have this album, get it! This and the (self titled) "Black Album," are the best yet from our favorite band Metallica. Blackened is an awsome song, the songs are considerably long and seem as though they never end. The long song displays good character for good lyric writting, and music. I highly suggest getting this cd, if you dont get it your missing out on a awsome cd.

Summary: my god it's dull
Review: Did you ever hear Tales Of Topographic Oceans by Yes ? They were known for having "chops" but holy cow they didn't know when to end a song either.At least Metallica followed this turkey with something as wonderful as "The Black Album" to help erase the pain.They sure didn't serve any "Justice" on these 2 LONG records.It's more like they were dishing out the punishment.They committed the crime.I just don't know what the big deal is about this particular album,not Metallica in general.

Summary: My Favorite Metallica CD
Review: This is the album that made me a Metallica fan. Personally, I think that it is their best musically. Yes, the production job could have been a little bit better, but the riffing, soloing and Lars Ulrich's drumming is tops. Metallica was a little better without the tighter song structure of its later, but still great albums. Highlights of this album are my fave "Eye Of The Beholder", their first hit "One", "Blackened", the menacing "Harvester of Sorrow" and by all means, you must check out their magnum-opus instrumental "To Live Is To Die", a killer cut.

Summary: The deepest Metallica yet (ever)
Review: This album is the best i've heard yet. The guys really made this album dark and deep. I was so impressed by Kirk's speed and complexity in the solo's, that I started learning how to play guitar. I now get adrenalized everytime I hear one of the songs off this cd. It is so full of energy. On a scale of 1-10, it gets a 10 1/2!!!!

Review: Metallica is the group that set the stage for heavy metal and hard rock. This album just adds more to what they have already accomplished. Every single song without a doubt is worth listening to. Lars Urlich is one of the best drummer in the world and Metallica proves that by having him do a solo in "Dyers EVE". This album is a must for all Metallica fans, purchase it from Amazon, you cant find a better price.
