Summary: COMFORTING, INSIGHTFUL... A PLEASURE TO READ !!
Review: I bought "Cold Noses at the Pearly Gates" a few months ago and literally devoured what the author had to say, hungry as I was for scriptural confirmation of life after death for animals. I thoroughly enjoyed his book, agreed with his viewpoints and marvelled at some of his conclusions. Actually, I was like a kid in a candy store having wondered for so long why there were no books on this topic, knowing full well the church's stance on it and disbelieving that stance. One only has to look into the eyes of an animal to know that there is a very special soul there.

Little did I know that merely one month later, I would be grieving and mourning the loss of my 2½ year old cat-child, Shenayla, who I had to send home to the Lord when she finally, after a year of medication, succumbed to renal failure.

I went back to Cold Noses and slowly re-read it taking special note of scripture verses and finding the desperately-needed comfort I sought. What a great book! Thank you, Gary Kurz, for being God's catalyst in bringing us His message for our furbabies and indeed, all animals! Thank you for the countless hours of Bible study which are evident in the book. Thank you for sending me on the road to healing and for giving me the insight and knowledge to not only believe that she is Heaven but to know it as a fact.

If you're an animal-lover, are mourning the loss of a furbaby or are having to face a really hard decision with regard to euthanasia, I really recommend this book - it is a wonderful read and is guaranteed to give you great comfort on this controversial topic.

Summary: Someone understands and someone cares!
Review: I highly recommend "Cold Noses at the Pearly Gates" for anyone who has lost a pet or, for that matter, for anyone who has a pet. When we lost two beloved family members, our dogs Daisy and Molly, within a few years' time period I felt a deep sense of loss. Feeling the need to downplay my grief to those who didn't quite seem to understand, I knew I needed help, and I found it. Of any information I was able to find, Gary's book was by far my favorite. It offers the reader comfort and encouragement on a spiritual level. I found the ideas put forth in this book to make perfect sense and not pure conjecture but backed by what has obviously been a great deal of research into the teachings of the Bible. The reader can easily identify with many things in this book; in my case a favorite was the chapter dealing with the ability of animals to communicate. The author shares much of himself with the reader and even injects a little humor as he discusses pets he has known and loved. The most extraordinary thing about "Cold Noses", in my opinion, is that in reading this book you feel as if you have found a friend who understands what you are going through. The author encourages e-mail and will correspond with even more words of comfort simply because of his sincere desire to help people. As if that isn't enough, the newsletters on the author's web site served to supplement "Cold Noses by discussing virtually every question and thought I had regarding pet loss. If you need help this is where to find it. Get this book, read it, share it with a friend. Someone understands and someone cares.

Summary: EXTREMELY UPLIFTING AND INSIGHTFUL BOOK
Review: This book that Gary did is a real comfort to the heart of anyone who just lost their most beloved friend (pet). He has so much love, compassion & caring for not only the animals, but for people too.

Cold Noses at the Pearly Gates is such an easy book to read. It gives so much insight into the whereabouts of our pets. It also is a book about learning how to grieve. Not too many books out there today can make you feel the love and comfort that the author is giving. This book does that. The stories that he uses in the book are real and touching.

I suggest that anyone who has lost a pet read this book. It will comfort you and give you a sense of peace to know that your animals are safe and well and where they are suppose to be; in the hands of a Living and Loving God.
I hope this review helps you to want to read this heartwarming book. I know I got so much out of it and I hope you will too.

Thanks so much Gary for writing this book and being so sensitive to the needs of people who are in pain and grieving over the loss of their special friend.

Gary may God richly bless you for your faithfulness to write a book like this.

Summary: A Very Gentle Book - But more reserch needed
Review: I enjoyed Gary's personal experiences. It was obviously written for the Christian leader so those who complain it was too Christian I can't symphasize, by the title you should be able to tell it was for Christmas. I only wish he had used more scriptural references as reasons to believe animals will be in heaven. He seems more interested in converting people to his beliefs rather than using scriptures to back up what he says. They do exist. He also makes statements to which there is not basis in the scriptures such as animals and plants not having spirits but uses no scriptures to back that up.

Summary: Helped me and children while in great need of comfort.
Review: We have lost two beloved teenage dogs to age, and each was as traumatic as the first. This author writes a very spiritual and comforting book, relating his findings in the Bible. He is also ther via email to help you in your journey of loss and encourages you to get a new pet when the time is right for you. Had it not been for Gary, we would never have had another pet and my children would have been crushed. The loss of a pet is much more painful than most know, until it happens to them. If not for Gary, I would have gone nuts! I had my dog for 17 years, before even knowing my husband. Our second dog was our eldest's third birthday gift, and she died just a week before he left for college. Talk about hertbreaking!

There is a special place in Heaven for our pets, and I'm sure an even more special one for Gary, who has comforted a countless many in their time of need, when most other humans just roll their eyes at you over mourning & add (the cruelest statement ever) "It was just a dog"!

God Bless Gary!

Summary: Blew what I had been taught in church to smithereens!
Review: Gary Kurz offers great Biblical proof that animals do go on to experience eternal life! I had always been taught in chrch that animals couldn't experience Heaven with us because they don't have "spirits". Gary Kurz shreds this theory to ribbons in this book! This book offered me great hope during the illness/impending death of my beloved 12 yr old dog, because now I know the goodbye was just for a while. Despite some typos, this book is touching, very personal, and offers hope. Too bad Amazon doesn't carry the sequel, "Cold Noses 2". I strongly recommend visitng his website Coldnosesbook.com. Thanks so much, Gary, for a wonderful book....and for sharing your heartfelt experiences.

Summary: Downhill after the title
Review: If you believe every word in the Bible is gospel, don't mind improper sentence structure and lousy grammar, and are willing to pay to read someone's circuitous ramblings, this book is for you.

The title is wonderful. If only the author had stopped there.

Summary: Extremely Touching
Review: Cold Noses at the Pearly Gates came to me at a time I was desperate for answers. I had recently lost a beloved pet and my husband and I were having a very hard time dealing with our emotions. We didn't know how we were ever going to get through the grief of losing our minicher pincher, Mi-Mo. Our emotions were so teriffic and we did not have any answers to our overwhelming question: What now? Do our pets go to heaven or is that it!! At the time I had been taking some classes at the local college and decided to search the web for this situation. Well, when I found this book, I knew I had to have it. Once I started reading, I couldn't put it down. The book gives you so much confront of what it is, and why we are feeling the way we do. It seems like everything makes more sense to me now. We all have a purpose in this life and how the animals all fit into this plan that God has given us. You walk away from reading this book with a very good feeling in your heart and with some closure. I was shown from Gary Kurz how to find our answers from his book and also from his references from the Bible. It has opened up to me, that all our answers in life are right there from the Bible. If we only take time to look.
With the Bible in hand and the beautiful words from this author, only then do you realize that one day I too will see my little companion's cold nose at the pearly gates in heaven.
thanks, Gary

Summary: Once Again
Review: I ordered this book last year after I lost a beloved dog. The title attracted me. Unforunately, the title is all that I enjoyed. I found the book boring and one particular story, upsetting. Instead I would recommend "Will I See Fido in Heaven," and "Angel Pawprints," a wonderful book with poems, and writings that date back a century.
