Summary: An opinion on Sloppy Firsts.....
Review: I'm sitting at my computer, trying to think of what to say about the best book ever written. Quite honestly, nothing I say can do it justice. So instead of racking my brain trying to think of some clever and brilliant thing to say about it, I'll just let the book speak for itself. Because being the book that it is, it will have some witty, strait-forward comment that you can only wish you had said yourself. So with that said, I'll just leave you with my honest opinion: This is one [good] book.

Summary: Simply the best book I've ever read.
Review: This is a brilliant book by Megan McCafferty, a lady who obviously hasnt forgotten what its like to be a teenage girl. It's written in the form of a diary, a diary belonging to 16 year-old Jessica Darling. Any girl can realate to this hysterical, yet meaningful novel. I would say that it's best for girls 15 and up.
...I really dont know what to say except to read this! I promise you'll love it. I'm so glad that I stumbled onto this. So now I pass this on hoping that it will touch someone else too. Peace, love and kittens.

Summary: Really Terrific Novel
Review: Sloppy Firsts is a terrific, engaging, amusing novel, one which should not be limited by the "young adult" label. I enjoyed it and, well, I must admit, it has been quite some time since I fit into that category. Jessica, the heroine and narrator, is devasted by her best friend's moving out of town, and must now contend with friends she doesn't think she likes and the unwanted advances of a high school jock, among other things. The novel covers her life in 2000 quite well--we follow her ups and downs which develop in an unpredictable way. Her parents drive her crazy, as do her hormones. I think all "young adults" would enjoy this novel, as would any one else who enjoys romantic comedies, or just good reads in general. The novel is refreshingly original, funny and endearing. I for one am looking forward to the next installment of Jessica's life.

Summary: Great
Review: Sloppy Firsts is a wonderful book. When I added it to my Christmas list, I didn't expect it to be good. I thought it would be another over-used plotline, about a teenage girl pouring her battered heart out to her diary. I was wrong. I'm completely in love with this book. It's well written, and it truly does portray the feelings of a 16-year-old girl. I'm eagerly awaiting the arrival of Megan's next Jessica Darling novel. I need to know what happens with Marcus :)

Summary: This is the best book ever!
Review: I've read this book time and time again, and each time i still laugh and cry! Sloppy Firsts is one of those novels where you just can't put it down! Megan McCafferty amazingly describes the way most teenage girls feel. She makes ever reader truely feel like they are Jessica Darling. I can't wait for Second Helpings and other Megan McCafferty novels to come out!

Summary: Too Great
Review: I absolutely loved this book. It is not just any normal teengae girl's diary. This is so true about all high school life and so blunt you will laugh in the faces of the people in this usual race of superficiality that we find so typical in today's teenage social caste. I found this book very interesting and I can't wait for the second book in Feburary of 2003.

Summary: buy this book!!...
Review: Wow, as soon as I started reading it I got hooked. It shows how high school is through the eyes of a sixteen year old girl. She is depressed about her best friends moving away. She's forced to hang with the "Clueless Crew" so she wouldn't be alone although she can' stand their cheerleading, boy-crazy, fake behinds. A guy name Marcus Flutie who is one of the "Dregs" captures her heart and makes her realize that she's been just as fake as the "Clueless Crew" and a girl named Hy who pretended to be someone else to the whole school. I loved reading this book and i was so sad when i reached the ending. I cannot wait for the sequel to come out. I'm buyin it and readin it in a flash like the first one.

Summary: Sloppy ... Ending.
Review: "Sloppy Firsts" by Megan McCafferty is a light, fun read. I enjoyed the book up until the ending, which left me with a sour taste in my mouth. It ended with a lot of strings untied, and just kind of ruined the rest of the book for me. Up until the ending, it's a great read.

Summary: Hilarious, hearbreaking and really like high school
Review: I LOVED THIS BOOK!!! Anyone who objects to the "crude" language or situtions obviously hasn't set foot in the halls of the average American high school in ages. I applaud the author for being brave enough to write like many teenagers actually talk and think (which means the occasional use of (GASP!) profanity and other strong lanugage) even though she risked objections from parents and teachers. If you read closely (and I did because I read it for a class in Young Adult literature), everything Jessica says has a point. There's nothing in the book that is exploitative or thrown in there for shock value. I wish more writers depicted high school with as much humor and honesty as Megan McCafferty.
