Summary: Excellent Book!
Review: The truth about what America's so-called "friends" have to say about us, revealing other countries petty jealousies, backstabbing and hate. Yet more information on why America should stop all foreign aid and keep our dollars at home!

Summary: The Spirit of McCarthy is Alive and Well
Review: In a nutshell: America is perfect, can do no wrong, never has done, and never will do. Any criticism of any aspect of America is merely down to jealousy or communism, and makes you a terrorist sympathiser to boot. USA good, everyone else bad, and there you have it. All the wit, insight and sagacity of an English football hooligan. I wouldn't even credit it with the label Fascist, it's not that well thought-out. Imbecillic, pure and simple. Hateful, hate-filled, self-righteous, self-pitying, jingoistic, xenophobic garbage.

Summary: Venomous disinformation
Review: oversimplistic nonsense. books like this will only serve to further disinform the american public and lead them into the neo-conservative trap. as if two wars aren't enough, here's a case for why americans should be wary and spiteful of the rest of the world. ever consider the possibility that maybe the rest of the entire world is right and america's foolish leadership is wrong?

Summary: Leftist haters will, of course, hate this book...
Review: John Gibson's first book will enrage Western leftists and the terrorist's apologists; for those inclined to moral relativism and prejudgments based on irrational stereotypes, error is to be expected (e.g., the nincompoops who whine that the imperialist oppressor, Amerikkka, is not a victim). Such as Les affreux Jacques Chiraq, CODEPINK, NOT IN OUR NAME, et alii are notable for their disconnect from reality in their irrational hate for GWB/America, that they blame the USA for the terrorist attack on September 11, 2001 says a lot about which side they support.
Close reading of ''Hating America : The New World Sport'' reveals information that was new to me: e.g., the phone call made by Mohammed Atta at 7:59 AM from AA Flight 11 to Marwan Al-Shehhi onboard UA Flight 175 as both planes waited to take off from Boston's Logan Airport.
John Gibson joins a literate cohort, who in their love for America, can no longer stand idle while liars spew propaganda in support of the murderous enemy, an enemy who would bring the new fascism to every household.

Summary: Why should they hate U.S.?
Review: They have a higher standard of living than us, they being Europe, Great Britain, and Canada. They have free health care, have shorter work weeks, longer vacations, and stronger currencies. While I as a citizen of the U.S.of America work two jobs just to pay my taxes.
I find Mr. Gibson's premise bogus.

Summary: Explaining the inexplicable
Review: Gibson has asked and answered the questions that have plagued most Americans for decades. Why does everyone seem to hate us? There are many suspicions about why even our supposed allies speak with such venom about the US, this book nails it about where all this anti-American rhetoric is founded. Recent military activities are not the source, it is much deeper than that and this book opens the door to get a real look at why there is so much negative opinion about this country. The motivation and the resulting criticism for this anti-US activity is clear and dispicable. With friends like these...

Summary: Hating America: The New World Sport
Review: After reading many book reviews on Amazon, I have finally
decided to do a review of my own. First of all, this book
is an outstanding commentary on the state of world politics
today. I think it's one of the most important books since the
events of 9/11.

Now let me comment on the book review process at Amazon. You
don't have to be very smart to determine that the review
process is tainted by the dishonesty and deceptiveness of the
left (academics, liberals, etc.). This venue for review is
heavily weighted in their favor.

I often wonder how many of the leftish oriented reviews are
submitted by academics on university computers who have nothing
much to do to keep them busy. And I would bet that most of the
liberal submissions come from governmental employees and
social service employees using publicly funded facilities and
computer resources. Most have never read the books they are
reviewing, but simply trying to hurt the books in organized
attack reviews.

Finally, let me make a suggestion to your customers who
depend on these review for an honest evaluation of the book.
Take it all with a grain of salt. Read the publisher's
summary and make your own decision as to whether you want to
read the book.

Summary: An aid to understanding
Review: This book is very well written. It provides factual material with respect to why the coalition is in Iraq and why it is correct that America should be so joined; and, why so many around the world have used Iraq as an excuse to vent their hate of Americans (not conservative, independent or liberal Americans - all Americans). "Hating America" will provide much information that, even the widely read, will have never had an opportunity to examine. I highly recommend this book...and it should be read now!

Summary: Hilarious nonsense
Review: Sands (armalite19@hotmail.com), awake from slumber, April 16, 2004,
Hillarious
Lauching his 'book' on the O'Reilly factor JOhn was asked by BIll, 'Why, in one word, does the world hate America?' Johns one word answer: 'Fear envy Jealousy.' And so goes the book. This is really a poorly written, meandering indulgence in stereotypical descriptions and flights of fancy about various nations and their motivations in opposing american policy choices. Gibson believes that 'hating america' is a form of syndrome without any rational cause. Firstly, he has elevated oppostion to american design to the lavel of hatred. Second, any opposition , in Gibsons view, cannot have a rational basis, as this is a syndrome or sickness brought on, not by any american shortfalls, by the veneality, anger , and jealousy of other peoples. Insulated in the world of fox news, Gibson draws an accurate portrayal of the Globe as fox news sees it. However, no such world exists.

Also recommended: Similar examples include most of the fox news stable, particularly Sean Hannity. One can get a more academic expansion on these ideas with 'the End of Evil' by Richard Perle and David Frum.

Summary: I wish Amazon would screen these reviews better
Review: If the negative reviewers had two brain cells to rub together, and used those brain cells to read and understand the newspapers and TV news, they would know this book is right on. Instead they just jump on the leftist bandwagon and "critique" a book they have never read. It is very obvious these people are just spouting the leftist party line without reading the book. All I can say is if they really did read the book and still think it's wrong, then they must have their head where the sun doesn't shine. All they need to do is pay attention to what is going on in the world, and use what little brain power they have to try and understand what is going on around the world.
