Rating: Summary: A nation overrun by parasites Review: This literate text hits the nail on the head. It names names and brings illumination to the feckless do-gooders that would see fit to decapitate the United States. Of particular concern to me is the fact that the porous borders so freely allow a mass of the unwashed to flow into my country. I stare in disbelief at what is taking place with regards to the redistribution of wealth -- my earned wealth. For every additional ten-thousand dollars that I earn, through choice, providing my employers and customers with value, trading in my time for pay, I see $3,000 of it taken -- taken at the point of a legislatively dictated gun. And then I see where my money is going -- standing in the line at the grocery store -- and witnessing "a young single mom" with three offspring in tow -- paying for her purchases with a Quest card. Have you seen the Quest card? It is a special card that allows the "underprivileged" to be able to have the good life, without the stigma of the embarrassment of food stamps. It's perfectly fine to take $28,000 in taxes from me without even a 'thank you' -- but this woman in line, who can barely get out a word in English, gets a ticket to ride... and I am left taking care of the bill. I am suppose to feel compassion for these parasites while being told that I am too damn selfish, that I am too rich and need to pay my "fair share." The damage does not stop at the checkout line. The food purchased by the woman (actually by me, the taxpayer), consisted of overpriced, prepackaged rot. As such, I will also have the responsibility for paying the health care costs for the overweight offspring as they blossom into obesity. As Dr. Savage correctly points out, Liberalism is a mental disorder. Personally, I characterize it by the pairwise emotions of fear and envy. The envy component is obvious -- the liberals' inability to produce something of value requires that they take, by legislative force, that which is produced by the producers, and hand it to those who choose not to produce. The choice of the non-producers is made clear by their actions: sloth, incompetence, circumventing accountability. The liberals' value and self-esteem are manifest in the quantity that they steal and the level of control that they have over the producers. Their fear is even more self-damning. It is the self-realization that once the producers conclude that the guilt-card has no currency, the gig will be up. (guilt over being successful, profitable, accountable, choosing to live within one's means [ie. only having babies that they can pay for]). Once the gig is up, the coin of the liberal realm (sickness, sloth, unaccountability, incompetence -- in a word -- need), will depreciate to zero value. The taxing redistributionists will be identified as the purveyors of a bankrupt philosophy "from each according to his ability, to each according to his need", whereas the producers, creators, thinkers and those who live within their means will be recognized as the true pillars of the United States. Michael Savage's "The Enemy Within" is a clarion call for reason in a world awash in nonsense.
Rating: Summary: I find it interesting Review: I find it very interesting why so many people would take the time to write a negative opinion of this book to the degree that they have. My question is why did these people read the book? Or did they? Or are they just as fanatical about their views as Savage. I think they are doing more to discredit themselves and more to sell this book than they realize. &$^%, maybe Savage wrote those reviews himself. I haven't read the book yet either but I think I will buy one.
Rating: Summary: Strong Opinions Review: Savage writes with conviction and force. I think a good companion read would be Press Bias and Politics, by Jim Kuypers. Kuypers looked at 116 different mainstream papers and over 700 news articles. His conclusion is that the mainstream media is locked into a very narrow liberal bias. So many of the points made by Savage are facilitated by how the media reports on controversial issues!
Rating: Summary: Eviscerating Review: Savage did more than just manage to hit evey point on his diatribe against America's current state. He shows real human examples of the past of America, the humanity of the victims of the system, and possibilities of the future. Whether you like Savage or loathe him, his emotion cannot be argued. Nor can his logic. Michael Savage seems like one of the few conservatives with guts to show our problems, but propose a solution. He's not afraid to rail against Bush, either. Ask him on current policies from the White House. Cicero's statement rings true now as it does for Rome. Prophetic words, considering Rome's collapse in 400-500 AD. I wish some areas had been more indepth, celebrities and the military, but others were fine.
Rating: Summary: Savage is RIGHT ON !!! Review: Politically I consider myself an independent. Obviously Savage is a very conservative Republican and his views model the party platform and perhaps go even further to the right. However, Savage is RIGHT ON THE MONEY when he speaks of the ills in our country being directly linked to liberalism. From the anti-God , anti-family ACLU to the king pins of the Democratic party, our schools, military and democracy are all being threatened by these shady people. There are far too few conservative voices on the radio and television these days. Time and Newsweek mags are dripping wet with the stench of liberalism. Finally we have Savage, Hannity, O'Riely and others who are challenging the liberal left and standing up for the conservative "mainstream" America. THIS BOOK IS DEFINITELY WORTH READING!!! dhansen@novell.com
Rating: Summary: Wakeup Liberal Free Loaders Review: Michael Savage again hits the nerves of the weaker vessels known as the American liberal. The libs don't get it. They need to read this book, listen to the Savage nation, and wake up and smell the coffee. They won't want the coffee if they have to pay for it but at least they can smell it for free. Maybe a nationalized, government-sponsored coffee shop is next on the horizon of the liberal free-loading mentality.
Rating: Summary: God Bless Dr. Savage Review: Too all you idiots who wrote bad reviews of this book: WHY DON'T YOU READ THE BOOK BEFORE YOU DISCREDIT IT! You say there are no facts to back up this "ideology"? Take a look at almost any page and you will see the FACTS which back up Dr. Savage. My favorite quote: The Enemy Within is playing for keeps. Don't be seduced by their seductive increase-the-peace rhetoric. Don't be intimidated by their anti-America trash talk. Don't be fooled by their lies about our mission. And whatever you do, don't let them extinguish your passion to defend your country. Why? One dirty bomb can ruin your whole day. -Dr. Michael Savage, The Enemy Within, p. 98
Rating: Summary: Another bare-fisted no-holds-barred view of the Left Review: Often, at night while driving around, my wife and I will listen to the "Savage Nation" and she'll comment that Michael Savage is just too aggressive and acerbic saying things that might serve to alienate rather than educate. She prefers Rush. Myself, I think both are indispensable. Michael Savage will say those things that need saying, but most are simply cowed into a submissive silence. This book does "tell it like it is" and is not for the faint of heart. It surely will NOT change many if any minds. This book is meat for the true believers and I for one loved it. Michael Savage is guilty of loving his country and her traditions. He's guilty of unapologetically defending our values. And he has a nose for sedition for which he finds plenty of evidence. It's not that Michael Savage has uncovered heretofore unknown conspiracies or really told us anything that we didn't already know. But he does make a powerful case for widespread traitorous behavior on the Left. He organizes and presents his case compellingly and entertainingly. This book is not dissimilar to Ann Coulter's Treason in it major premise: That the Left has engaged in widespread perfidy and treacherousness on a scale nearly impossible to imagine. I liked this book and would recommend it highly.
Rating: Summary: Another Home Run Review: Predictably, the useful idiots on both the Left and Right (the True Believers) have come out attacking Michael Savage's latest great book. Anyone with half a brain knows that Michael Savage is one of the very few public personalities who knows what is going on in the world today, and one of the very few who has the guts to tell it like it is. The enemies within this country won't like this book any more than they hated his first political book, The Savage Nation. Who cares? If you want to be educated, read this book. Gee, I wonder how many Klinton Kool-aid, Billary worshipping, political moron, socialist storm troopers are going to flame this book review, without first reading the book?
Rating: Summary: Wearing out his welcome Review: I like Michael Savage and his radio program. In fact, I can count myself among his first listeners on San Francisco's KSFO, long before he went national on radio and (for a very short time) on MSNBC television. He has undeniable radio talent and makes some excellent points. He has a dry sense of humor, as well. His Dead Man's Pants and Polishing the Brass in the Dungeon with Cyanide stories, and the way he loosely ties them to political opinions, had me laughing out loud. Still, I can only recommend this book to anyone who has never heard his radio program and wants to read what he is all about. Actually, the book reads almost like his radio program plays on the air. Personally, I am getting tired of this "Right-Wing vs. Left-Wing" non-fiction best seller con game going on in this country. Too many people are getting rich off of these light-weight, rip-off books. I'm getting bored with these repetetive tirades (by Michael Moore, Al Franken, Bill O'Reilly, Michael Savage, etc., etc., etc.) This is the last one of these types of books I am going to buy for quite a while
