Rating: Summary: Big Disappointment Review: This book is a waste of time and money. It is poorly written and the entire book is based on one man's opinion. I am not certain how this book got published. This guy didn't even know if the NAACP existed before WWII. Even the few facts in this book are incorrect. Do the guy really have a PhD? IMHO, Michael Savage is an idiot. I'll use the book as toilet paper.
Rating: Summary: Surprisingly Refreshing Review: I began this book pessimistically, within pages I was hooked and couldn't put it down. I was immediately able to connect with Savage and most of his views. Although, I did not agree with everything he said, he offered his ideas eloquently and overwhelmingly justified. Highly entice you to read this novel, or listen to his radio show...The Savage Nation 7-10 Eastern Time, on many stations including 770AM WABC.
Rating: Summary: Fantastic Review: Wow, the Liberals are really loosing it now. What they fail to realize is that a counter-revolution is on the horizion to the failed socail engineering 60's produced. Liberalism is a dying cause, and Savage gets the point. He realizes that America works better as a "Melting Pot", supported by Conservatives (or as I like to call true Americans), compared to the "Multi-Culti-Pot", which the Liberals (aka Communists) love to support. Whats left to say, if you are to the right, Savage's book will just make you angrier; if you are from the left, this book will predict the future. What the baby boomers dont realize is that the new generation (Born past 1980) is much more conservative than they are willing to believe. The hippies hated their parents, and god almighty do we hate the hippies. Savage and his Paul Revere Society is heralding the comming of a new age. Buy this book!
Rating: Summary: Read his books about herbal medicine Review: His real name is Michael A. Weiner. Before he 'became' a radio talk show host he wrote herbal medicine books and was a darling of the San Fransico left wing crowd. His claim to fame was swiming naked with left wing poet Alan Ginsburg in Fiji. I am not certain this guy is serious - my fear is he is putting on an act to make the 'right' look like a bunch of crazies. I've listened to his show and read his book, and I don't know if he is being serious. If you look at his past, you would might agree.
Rating: Summary: Liberal commentary = ???????????? Review: I have to disagree with the "bad" reviews on this website. Michael's book is very popular amongst many different intellectual levels. Some people feel that he is vulgar however I see it as a method he uses to incorporate humour into his compassionate views. The feedback I have received from this book is all favorable - secretaries and Doctors alike! I also recommend his CD set - perfect therapy for those days in which a person is on liberal overload!
Rating: Summary: What happened... Review: ...to the original Michael Savage, the man who used to have an interesting radio show? I started listening to this man because, as a self-professed independent, I agreed with many of his beliefs. He began as an right-leaning independent type and he didn't let anyone off the hook, be they left- or right-wingers. Unfortunately, what with Ann Coulter, Sean Hannity, the re-emergence of Rush Limbaugh, and a rash of other coat-tail riders, Mr. Savage has has jumped ship. He has become a simple man with simple ideas that appeal to simple people. It is unfortunate that liberal-bashing has become so popular, as most people don't realize that Democrats (not liberals) and Republicans (not conservatives) are basically similar groups striving for similar goals in slightly different ways. And another thing--his borders/language/culture argument? Well, Mr. Savage is not a native American. Therefore he fails to recognize what originally created and made America great and in fact led to him being offered such opportunity: immigration. Granted, he needs a gimmick as the I-hate-liberals thing can only last for so long, but he goes about it in such an akward and unwieldly manner that he has become virtually unlistenable. For better advice and opinions, try another author from the Bay Area: Dan Savage.
Rating: Summary: Five Stars for Utter Nonsense Review: All reviewers are correct -- Michael Savage HAS done it again; that is, he's proven himself to be exactly what America should fear rather than admire. Once one reads this book, they should feel like either a stiff drink or reading something of higher quality, like Archie comics. Anyone who could possibly take this dolt seriously needs to come to grips with reality, and understand that humans shouldn't operate out of fear and anger. I highly recommend that everyone read this book -- after all, the best way to defeat one's enemy is to know them. For a fun read, a bigot who can really write, make me laugh and cry, try Keshner's COCKPIT CONFESSIONS OF AN AIRLINE PILOT, which surprised the heck out of me... it is truly tops.
Rating: Summary: Mildly Savage Nation Review: I found Dr. Wiener's/Savage's, book quite realistic and true. He states a strong message about "Borders," "Language," and "Culture," in a land that is moving vastly into dire straights. Our heritage is in trouble and we have to find our way out of it before we succumb like the Roman Empire. Dr. Wiener gives an excellent description of the problems with our society, only to be rivaled by the book, "Angry White Male and the Horse He Rode In On" by Rick Biesada- a sleeper, but this author really tells it like it is. His brand of attitude is what Michael Savage was trying to reach out to. Michael Savage tells it like it is; but Biesada tells it for real, through actual life experience, not acedeme.
Rating: Summary: A brilliant author Review: Dr. Savage brings warmth to the heart of right thinking Americans who understand right and wrong. He greatly illustrates the efforts of the people and organizations within our own borders who are trying to harm our great nation.
Rating: Summary: Sorry Liberals are Threatened Review: Dr. Savage is blasted for expressing his opinions, which he has a right to do. If you don't like them, don't buy the book. The lib-dems seem to be verrrrry threatened by his viewpoints. It's too bad that millions agree with Savage. We want our language to be English, our borders secure and our culture preserved. If this offends, then go to another country (if you can find one). The Savage Nation is just a tip of the iceberg of the coming conservative backlash for all the liberal social tinkering that has taken place in the last 30 years. Read the book and be educated.
