Rating: Summary: The person who decided to publish this should be fired Review: I have never heard Savage's radio show, though I did see him on MSNBC (before he was fired) a couple of times after I finished the book. I consider myself a left-leaning independent, but I like to read a wide range of political literature. I wouldn't reccomend this to anyone, however. It's just one long rant by an angry man who seems to feel that we should return to the days when women, gays and immigrants were oppressed. This book might appeal to the standard 'angry white man', but, for the intelligent among us, it just doesn't fly. For good conservative books, check out D'Souza. I don't agree with him either, but at least he's respectful and articulate.
Rating: Summary: Ingenious Parody of Conservativism Review: This is by far the most ingenious work of satire in modern American literature. In fact, Savage's entire persona is one giant, hilarious spoof of the rampant ultra-conservativism that has all but taken over American media . Savage's elaborate parody brings to mind Andy Kaufman who, even in death, has left millions of mulleted wrestling fans wondering "was that for real?" And no doubt, those same humorless mullet-heads are flocking to their AM radio stations every evening to worship at the altar of Savage, who is laughing all the way to the bank. The hysterical irony - this perverse, overweight, psychotic, profanity spewing, Arab-looking caricature with the French name, screaming for racial profiling and an end to immigration and return to morality - will be appreciated only by admirers of great satire. Like Beavis and Butthead, on the surface it looks like dumb humor, while in fact hilariously exposing the []mentality of the lemming-like masses. The overwhelming majority of the audience will simply work themselves into their mindless patriotic frenzies and put out the money to buy his book, while Savage mutes the microphone and laughs til he vomits the giant buffet he had for lunch.

Rating: Summary: The liberals attack on Amazon.com reviews! Review: It's intersting to see that most of the reviews listed here are by admitted liberals attacking this book. I don't see the conservatives attacking Stupid White Man Michael Moore. If you are a conservative and feel things have gotten out of hand here with frivolous lawsuits, sloppy immigration laws and other outrageousness, then this book is for you. If not, then sleep away and just keep reading the New York Times. This is a good read with provocative ideas that can be finished in a day or two.
Rating: Summary: The Evil that Men Say Review: What a sorry excuse for a book. Or, better yet, what a sorry excuse for a human being. Michael Savage starts off his book saying he is not anti-immigrants, then later tells a story how he yelled at a Middle Eastern cab driver to go back to where he came from. Funny story, really. But it's not the only one. This book is filled with "funny" stories. Like the one where he says he cured a lousy bum of cancer, and the man didn't even say thank you (yeah, whatever. I believe that one.). He brags about how good his books are, how wonderful his radio show is and how it's Number One!!! He prints a fan letter verbatim that puts him in a glowing light, when we all know that a majority of the letters and e-mails he gets are hate ones. He talks about how comedians today are not funny, but that he is a riot. That's strange...for such a funny guy, I didn't laugh once while reading this book. That's because I was too shocked about what I was reading. After he decides to get over himself for a second, he spouts ignorant statements, one after another. He claims that women are afraid of angry men, and that if our boyfriends don't act like girlfriends, we don't want them. That statement right there tells me that he was never popular with the females, and that angers him, because if his statement is true, then no woman has ever liked him, because this guy is ANGRY. He dreams of a world where boys carry around guns, instead of sporting an earring. Yeah, because guns are so much safer than earrings. He also says that the biggest terrorist group we need to look out for are the liberals. Sure, Mr. Savage. Okay. And, what exactly have the conservatives done for us lately? I mean, things that have actually benifited our country? Every page of 'Savage Nation' is like this. The man doesn't state fact, he states his opinion. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, but I can't believe that this guy dares to state his opinions in public. I have a hard time believing even conservatives appreciate his "humor". In fact, I think he gives them a bad name. He and Ann Coulter. If the two of them ever got together and had a baby, then God help us all. Two haters don't make a right. Maybe, Mr. Savage, YOU should take your homophobic, racist, women-hating, hypocritical self and go back to where YOU came from. And when you get there, tell Satan I said hi.
Rating: Summary: ... Review: Right. As for the writing "style" ... I could point out so many gramatical errors it wasn't even funny. This is so badly written that you have to wonder if it was edited at all...?
Rating: Summary: I would give it no stars Review: This book is worthless if you are a conservative and especially worthless if you were looking for worthy opponent. I am a conservative, but even I was outraged with author's ideas. This is poorly written, hateful, and confrontational book, that has no factual data, no scientific analysis, no proves, and no common sense. Michael Savage is racist, religious fanatic, demagogue, and self-assured jerk.
Rating: Summary: great book-every American should read Review: I thought it put the politics in simple lanquage, sometimes a play on words, but very comprehending.
Rating: Summary: First Star General Review: This book is one of the the best books ever period after the Bible. Mr Savage is very very smart. He proves how gays and foreigners and liberal media are bad. I really feel that Mr. Savage should be made our First Star General of our great military. He could find and kill many of the terrorists and snipers plus Osama and Iraq and Saddam.
Rating: Summary: Unbelievable. Review: I picked up this book expecting a challenge, possibly some information that could contest or even change my views. I was sorely disappointed. Nowhere in his incoherent rants does Savage come anywhere close making a point; to top it off, he defends his arguments with such facetious assertions as: "I will stick by those words because I know I am right." Where is the evidence? Savage uses his grandiose, delusional pipe dreams as proof that a society run by liberals could never work. He states that if Osama Bin Laden were brought to trial in the U.S. and tried by liberals, he would receive community service. He states that if the Manhattan Project occurred today, we would lose WWII because liberals would complain that the team of scientists isn't diverse enough. How can he make these ridiculous claims? Is he out of his mind? Savage stereotypes, generalizes, and lies to support his claims. He provides no evidence to back up his wild assertions. You could find more valid information on the back of a placemat at Denny's. It is sad, though, that some people seem to think he is a genius. Well. If you can think for yourself and aren't easily sucked in, this book would probably give you a laugh. If not, I'd suggest staying away from this book before you start to believe his asinine drivel too.
