Rating: Summary: excessively mediocre Review: I must first start by saying that I am a "fan" of Mr Savage; that is, I find him an entertaining and enlightening radio host, which is refreshing in this politically correct world we've now painted ourselves into. However, I feel that if someone is going to take the time and energy to write a book, there better be something of substance in the end. As opposed to the spontaneity of talk radio, literature should be well-thought, well-planned, and well-researched, and executed with style. And although I'm happy that someome finally stepped up and made a statement worthy of hearing, this book fell short of all my technical expectations. It came across as more of an intelligent move to capitalize on his gaining popularity. Philosophically, I agree with Mr Savage's general take on the country, but I was greatly disappointed that he spent little to no time drawing from historical events to prove his points. There were no statistical comparisons and nothing more than anecdotal evidence for many of his points. Rather, he spends an excessive amount of time name-calling and slandering (essentially lowering it a few nothces on the intellectual scale) and thus making this book seem petty and juvenile. I'm giving it three stars simply because I give the guy credit for having the guts to speak his mind and risk "offending" people.
Rating: Summary: Savage Nation Review: Savage is a prophet who tells from his heart the real America which the liberals would like to destroy. His book is a roadmap to the recovery of our borders, language and culture. Any one who is proud to be an American and loves free speech, will love the book.
Rating: Summary: I can't believe a white supremist can still be listend to. Review: To give you a good enough idea about who Michael Savage is, all I need to do is reprint some quotations from his own mouth through a good piece of invesigative reporting done by Bill Moyers with PBS that aired in the program NOW on 2/21/03. For more info got to www.pbs.org "NBC is owned by General Electric; G.E. and Microsoft own the cable news network MSNBC; and MSNBC has just hired Michael Savage to do a new television program. Mr. Savage is the host of an ABC radio show called SAVAGE NATION. MSNBC says Michael Savage will provide "compelling opinion and analysis with edge." Now, what does that mean? Well, let's look at the record: Michael Savage is known to speak on the air of non-white countries as ' you may want to cover your children's eyes ' as "turd world nations." Open your door to immigrants, he has said, and "the next thing you know they are defecating on your country and breeding out of control." He has said that while Latinos, in particular, "breed like rabbits" and whites don't, homosexuals "are part of the grand plan to cut down on the white race." When student volunteers distributed food to San Francisco's homeless, Mr. Savage said "the girls can go in and maybe get raped because they seem to like the excitement of it. There's always the thrill and possibility they'll be raped in a dumpster while giving out a turkey sandwich." When the Million Mom March called for gun control, Mr. Savage said children killed by guns "are not kids, they're ghetto slime." Never mind. Apparently such ideas strengthen the arsenal of democracy. For Michael Savage says: "We need racist stereotypes right now of our enemy in order to encourage our warriors to kill the enemy." So a SAVAGE NATION is now safely nestled in the bosom of big media, courtesy of G.E. and Microsoft. " Kind of makes think of the mind that would actually listen to a man like that.
Rating: Summary: Good but its a bit extreme Review: Michael Savage has done well, but he's a bit unrealistic as with some conservatives. The liberals are not only reason why our culture is in the bad shape its in. Ultimately is is a theological problem. Our country was founded on biblical framework (note: not a christian nation) and on the heels of a revival of Calvinism (through the ministry of George Whitefield and others). Over the following decades our nation became more secularized through the influence of the transendentalists and darwinists. When a nation becomes religously corrupt, then it becomes socially and politically. That being said, Michael Savage does well but doesn't go to root of the problem, the religious apostasy of this nation.
Rating: Summary: step up to the plate america! Review: our new country in the twenty first century needs to realize the changes we face....dr. savage has the guts to point out our weaknesses and strengths, we need to face reality and focuse on our culture, that should be the american way of life..... our society exists as a whisper through time, our military might is strong, but can only be possible with all our dreams, we must come together and free our souls and minds of liberal thought, they are decaying the heart and soul of our country, taking away the family and common sence of humanity, may god bless us all as a country, family and idea. Rating: Summary: Good Ideas, Not Enough Facts Review: Michael Savage wrote this book in the same style as his in your face conservative talk radio show. The book is certainly entertaining to read and a true conservative would agree with what he says. However, Savage sometimes lacks illustrations for the statements he makes. If you're lookiing for a provacative, entertaining, Conservative book this is for you. However, if you want a scholarly work with much research done, look elsewhere.
Rating: Summary: A quick but profound read Review: Though I much prefer Savage on radio in all his biting wit, sarcasm and shocking humor, I found his book enjoyable, enlightening and inspiring. If you have a shred of common sense and an inkling of inclination toward the preservation of self and the country that allows that self to prosper freely, you will find Savage resonates undeniable reason. It is a hoot to read the liberal posts here, quite an enjoyable display of the admirable tolerance they're noted for. Savage: you either love him or you hate him. Too bad for the left that Savage will soon be heard live nationally come this September, and that his MSNBC show is beating CNN's ratings. Thankfully, the true voice of America is showing it's colors through the many supportive readers of this book...you can't keep a good man down. GO SAVAGE!!!!
Rating: Summary: A total waste of time Review: I like books written by conservative writers and talk show hosts. That is, I did until I read this "work." To be fair, I only read the first few chapters. I couldn't take anymore. Savage engages in juvenile attacks against anyone or anything that he doesn't like. There is little reasoning and lots of name-calling. I almost feel that he's a liberal plant, trying to make conservatives look bad. Unless you are really desperate to see liberals totally (and immaturely) demonized, don't waste your time with this one.
Rating: Summary: ...and the horse you rode in on. Review: At last! For years I've been searching for an enlightened, political thinker who could show me the way out of the vast intellectual wasteland that ,sadly, America has become. Someone who was a gifted and brilliant socio-political dissector who could lead America back to its God-given right as the world's supreme power. Yes, along with the likes of Thomas Jefferson, John Kennedy and Abraham Lincoln we now have yet another icon to add to the list of great Americans who embody the virtues that this country stands for. One who has not only extremely keen observational skills but a man who, above all else, has given tirelessly for the greater good of this country with little regard for his own needs. And, not to keep you in suspense any longer, his name is ( drum roll please ).....Michael Savage! Yes, after reading Michaels' " The Savage Nation " I have seen the light and I too have a new perspective on how our boarders and very culture are becoming weakened every day by the vast hoards that are invading this country simply due to the temerity of seeking a better life for themselves and their families. How dare they accept jobs that most Americans would never consider stooping to, that they pay taxes that only as Americans only we should have the right to fork over and, last but not least, the very thought of immigrants coming to this country and becoming honest, decent hardworking citizens when the rest of us had to be born here to be granted that luxury! Yes, Mr. Savage definitely is on to something here..let's close the boarders, batten down the hatches and essentially become isolationlists. Then, and only then, can we become free of the worlds pesky complicated problems. I mean, is this any way to run a country? ( " Umm, Doug. Wasn't the very origins of this country and its greatness built on the sweat of others who only wished to come here to begin a better life free from poltical and religious persecution and tyranny? " ) Well, maybe but I can't be bothered with all that right now. After reading "The Savage Nation " my testosterone level is at an all time high and I feel like kicking a little third-world butt. You see Michael and I have to save America from itself and being God fearing Christians we know we have right on our side. And, any dear reader who also has been enlightened, I implore you to join Michaels army ( we also desperatly need a slogan!) and keep America free from anything that's not ummm....well, American! As for me I'm going to pick up my other bretherens books i e. Sean Hannity , Ann Coulter and the rights true messiah Rush Limbaugh and free my mind from all this pesky Liberal thinking that obviously I've been brainwashed into believing. Darn that Liberal media! Hey, we're not called 'Dittoheads' for nothing, thank-you! Who needs moderate thinking, empathy and true understanding. I've got Michael Savage. ( or just perhaps he has us! ) Onward Christian soldiers!
Rating: Summary: This book was awful! Review: This book was really hard to get through. I kept thinking it would get better, but it never did. While I may agree with a few of his ideas, most of them are frightening. What if everyone thought like this? It was difficult to actually get angry reading it because most of it was just nonsense. Save your money on this one. There are so many good books to read. This one is a waste of time.
