Summary: Sweet, funny ..oh so lovely!!
Review: What can I really say? It's the first book I've read that didn't have those ANNOYING misunderstandings between the hero and the heroine! Duncan was really sweet and Madelyne! ..she was just so adorable ...so very innocent and clumsy (which was so adorable!!) I love both the characters so much. I thought it was just so sweet how Duncan never took advantage of her when she was sick. The way Madelyne kept bumping her head on his chin. Okay, so I'm not over the book yet, but it was just really THAT good to me. I HIGHLY recommend it!

Summary: This book brought me to tears!
Review: A beautiful love story that will capture your heart. I'm not really a Garwood fan but reading this just melted my heart and made me cry. Definitely a keeper!

Summary: Not that great
Review: sorry to say folks but i didn't really enjoy this one as much as the others. I have to say it was a good story but i just wasn't impressed with madelyne. most of garwood's characters have that innocence about them that can be annoying but madelyne just got on my nerves. however duncan was a great character. to me madelyne seemed to be made of fluff. BUT READ IT YOURSELF IF THIS BOOK APPEALS TO U. however i haven't tried to read the entire book twice.

Summary: this is expensive :)
Review: I must say this is one of the most expensive books i've owned...there are only a handfull of books i read over and over again...and Honor's Splendour tops the list! I say it's expensive for the simple reason i've had to buy it 3 times now (and counting) because i keep wearing it out. My poor copy gets so ragged it begins to fall apart. Keep up the good work Ms. Garwood...and yes i do own all of her others..but the medieval ones are by far my favorites!

Summary: Wonderful! The Odysssey??!!
Review: I bought this book to read over thanksgiving break. Being a lit major I wanted something fun to break away from the greek classics I had been reading all term. Was I surprised to find to find several wonderful references to my favorite book this term, The Odyssey? Wonderful, yes! Now I can claim I was studying for my final by reading a wonderful touching romantic novel! I already owned one of Ms. Garwood's book, but I will admit I never read it. My husband bought it for me as a gift but I never opened it. One day I bought this book and I fell so much in love with her characters and writing style that I read it in two days. Needless to say I picked up the other one (The Lion's Lady)and read it right away. I finished it one day! Her stories are wonderful and she has a superb flair for keeping the reader interested much like Homer! :)

Summary: One of J.G's best...again!
Review: For me, this book is one of Julie Garwood's many best novels. I have read more than 10 of her books yet each time, it's a new different adventure. Yes, I agree that she sometimes described her herione pretty much with the same physical descriptions such as freckles in noses, smells like roses, etc... However, I find this flaw rather inciting.

Madelyne's strength, courage, patience and love for others simply captivated me to read on. Despite all the miserable times she had encountered during her growing up years, she still manages to keep her heart & spirit intact. Even after all the beatings and living life without a mother and a father, she still counted and appreciated her one single blessing of having an uncle who loved her. She doesn't dwell on the past, doesn't hold onto hate... and what's even more amazing is her unselfish side of wanting to help others find peace and happiness. Duncan is a true warrior in every way. He's honorable & patient. Practical & very disciplined...until love sinked in, and that's when practicality & disciplined became somewhat a burden.

The slow realization and acceptance of love between the two was simply perfect. Each scenes, little gestures of passions made this book irrisistible. There are many heart warming and humorous scenes in this book as well... The warming of Duncan's feet, the wedding, the learning of archery, the finding of the WOLF, the beginning of friendship with Duncan's sister, Adela & a whole lot more. I could go on and on but I don't want to give it all away here for those who haven't read it yet. Oh, I must add that I find Madelyne's clumsiness entertaining. The secondary characters all contributed to make this book worth reading for as well. Perhaps J.G. will write a sequel or a seperate book for Duncan's brothers and Adela's love story? The family twist and complications added spice and thrill from front to end. A must read & a keeper!

Summary: beautiful
Review: I thought this book was beautifully written and my favorite part was when the heroine warmed the hero's feet!

Summary: Simply the best!
Review: This is one of my favourite novels by Ms. Garwood. She continues to bring forth an excellent story with perfect characters like Madeline and Duncan and a great background story with Adela. The story begins with Madeline warming Duncan's feet and it just gets better from there. Where else can you find a powerful warlord succumbing to the whims (and elbows) of a snippet of a girl who is his mortal enemy's sister? No where but in a novel by Julie Garwood.

Summary: A Wonderfully Touching Love Story
Review: You will absolutely adore the hero & heroine of this story. Madelyne, a gentle, compassionate beauty who has known mostly cruelty from her brother, is the prize captured when Duncan, a fiercely proud warrior and Baron of Wexton, retaliates against Madelyne's brother. The story is set amid the turbulent times of feudal England. It is interesting reading w/exciting passion & genuine love that develops between these two. The characters are so likeable w/Madelyne being loving & compassionate & Duncan being the hardened warrior who falls in love w/her. Madelyne's humor, honesty & gentleness cause Duncan's heart to be lost to her, but he really falls in love w/her in the very beginning when she warms his near frozen feet against her in a totally selfless act. I also enjoyed learning about the Greek legends she so enjoys.

Julie Garwood is one of the best writers of romance today & Honor's Splendour is one of her best efforts.

Summary: Laugh, Cry, Enjoy!
Review: "Honor's Splendour" is one of the more wonderful books I have come across over the many years of reading this genre. The characters are marvelous - well defined. They blossom as you progress through the chapters. The Heroine, Madelyne, is loving, kind, strong, clumsy, spirited. Duncan, "The Wolf", is a dream come true. Strong, gentle, and kind. His brothers, Gilard and Edmond, are worth their own sequels. "Honor's Splendour" was suspenseful, funny, and sweet. Hard to find one book to cover all of these and do it well. Kudos to Ms. Garwood on a job well done. "Honor's Splendour" is a keeper, and for me, that says a lot. I have six paperbacks I have kept over the years which I re-read. Hers will become the seventh.

If sequels do exist to tell us Gilard's and Edmond's story, please let me know. I have yet to find them in my searches! If they don't exist, we should all write and beg Ms. Garwood to put an end to our misery. Let us know what kind of woman could win the heart of Gilard, the angry warrior; and Edmond, the garrulous healer.
