Rating: Summary: A Keeper Review: I have read every book Julie Garwood has written; Honor's Splendor is the one I return to over and over again. It is a keeper! There is a sweet whimisical charm to the growing relationship between Madeleine and Duncan that is irrestable. I really enjoy the humor and the humanity of these two characters and found myself laughing out loud several times. The passion is not bad either!
Rating: Summary: A wonderful book! Review: I love this book! This is the second time I read the book, and still , I enjoy it so much. this book is filled with such feeling. I love the way Duncan is always trying to protect Madelynes feelings. I love the way he makes sure no one hurts her. The dialogue is witty, the story is fast paced. It's just wonderful. I would say this is my favorite Julie Garwood book, but I love them all.. The entire book is great.. I can't think of one thing I would change about it.. Buy this book It is great!
Rating: Summary: Fantastic! Review: I have never cared for romance novels until I read "Gentle Warrior" by Julie Garwood. I love stories that are set back in the days of kings and barons just like these two do. You begin to understand the characters of this book and share their hardships as well as their joys. It's definitely not something you can put down without a fight. It is a fantastic storey that has you crying like a baby, laughing your head off, and falling in love like a innocent young maiden.
Rating: Summary: Magical! Review: From the first chapter, I was enthralled. This is Julie Garwood at her fairy tale best. The book has everything. It's touching without being overly sappy and sentimental. It's hilarious. The book is so good that when the lights went out due to a storm, I finished it by candlelight.
Rating: Summary: An All Time Great! Review: I first read this book on the recomendation, no insistance, of my niece who is a librarian. I was looking for something to make me laugh and did I ever. It just doesn't get any better then this. The gradual winning over of Duncan's family and his warriors is a fit. There are so many hilarious parts it would be hard to decided which were my favorites. When she names his war horse or darts across the practice field I just howled out loud and to me were some of the high lights of the book. It has to have been at least 7 years ago since I first read this book and I bet I re-read it once a year, especially if I get depresssed. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to have fun when they read. Every single person I have encouraged to read this has loved it.
Rating: Summary: I loved it Review: I don't normaly read romance but I loved this book.it was nicly written and i found myself laughing at them.
Rating: Summary: Hard To Top This Kind Of Writing Review: The book starts out with Duncan being held captive in Baron Loudden's holding. Men are tourtering him in the snow, but Duncan survives. Loudden's sister, the beauty Madelyn, comes to his rescue and warms his feet. Duncan is touched by the selfless act that the sister of his enemy bestowed upon him, but he takes her as his prisoner. At Duncan's holding, Madelyn becomes sick and Duncan nurses her back to health. Secretly, Madelyn is gald to be out of her evil brother's clutches. And she is falling deeply in love with the handsom man who is holding her captive....The characters were extremly real and they stirred you to your core. Madelyn was extremely selfless and quite cute. Duncan stirs you to your sole. They were both three dimensional and the dialogue was fabulous. I thought that they were perfect for each other. The plot is fast paced and holds you attention until the very last page. The scenery is, as always, well described and vivid. The thing I love about reading Julie Garwood's books is that they are nice ways to escape from the real world and get lost in your imagination. That's what all of Julie's books do. You get to dream of the perfect place with wonderful people and a fairy tale ending. You will not be sorry if you read this book.
Rating: Summary: Cute story Review: This is really a great book and I have read it so many times. Ducan is one of the best romance heros I have read about. Its sooooo sweet.
Rating: Summary: Awesome book! Review: I am not usually a romance novel reader, but this book has changed that! Ever page leaves you wanting more! This book has made me a Julie Garwood fan through and through! This is one of those books that you can hardly put down...you seek the knowledge of what happens to the evil brother Loudden, Lady Madelyne, and her captor/hero Duncan, and when you finally attain this knowledge and finish the book, you are left with a feeling of sadness that you have reached the end and there is no more to read! I guess I will have to read it again...and read her other books, which I hear are just as wonderful! Thank you for writing this, Ms. Garwood!
Rating: Summary: Another exciting novel by Ms. Garwood! Review: Just reviewed Gentle Warrior... that was great! So is this one. Another story with traditional Ms. Garwood hero and heroines. I can always count on her books to excite a lazy Sunday afternoon. The hero is a powerful warrior in the story while the heroine has the heart of gold. The scenes when she tried to rescue Duncan from her own brother was touching. If you typically enjoy Julie Garwood's books, you will certainly enjoy this one.
