Summary: A Beautiful Love Story
Review: There has not been a love story this touching since the movie Love Story with Ryan O'Neal and Ali MacGraw. After laughing and crying with this book, I was determined to tell everyone I know about it and have since done so. If you have been in love, this book will prove to you that you have been in a place such as this. If you haven't been in love, it will show you what it is like and make you want it for yourself. James Patterson has far outdone himself with this book and I applaud him for writting it. If a movie, big screen or just for television, isn't made of this book, than Hollywood doesn't know a good story when it reads it. Please, take my word for it, and read this wonderful book. You will not be sorry!

Summary: Not James Patterson's normal genre
Review: Okay, let's begin with...this is not the mystery thriller you might expect from James Patterson. This is not an Alex Cross book...it is very different and worth the time to read. I loved the book!

It's a wonderful story about a women (Katie) who has fallen in love with a man (Matt). Suddenly one night, he breaks off their relationship and has a diary delivered to her. The diary is written by a lady named Suzanne for her son Nicolas and it reveals to Katie secrets about Matt. Katie discovers who Matt really is, his past as well as learns some value life lessons that help her make some critical life decisions of her own. I gave it 4 stars because it is a bit sappy at times...but overall this is a really good book.

I applaud James Patterson for writing a book that is outside of his 'comfort zone' and I think he did a really good job. This novel definitely exhibits James Patterson's talent for weaving intrigue into the story (who is Suzanne, what is Matt's secret). Also, it is a quick and easy read (like JP's other books it has short chapters that clip along at a fast pace). I recommend this book, however keep in mind this is unlike any other JP book.

Summary: Suzanne's Diary for Nicholas
Review: Don't read this book without tissues at hand! I found myself unable to put this book down until I had finished the final chapter.

What a wonderful story about love, loss and family. I followed Matt, Katie, Suzanne and Nicholas through a rollercoaster ride of emotions I could never have endured.

When I reached the final page I was very sad that the story was over. I had become very fond of these people and will surely miss them.

A must read for anyone with a tender heart. Remember the five balls, always remember the five balls.

Summary: Suzanne's Diary for Nicholas
Review: I have thoroughly enjoyed all of James Patterson's books and although this was a departure from his 'norm', it was a keeper. I enjoyed the way the book went back and forth between the present and the past when Suzanne was writing the diary, giving two different perspectives. It was touching, moving, made me cry and I was not expecting the ending! What a surprise and a heartbreaker! I have already recommended this book to several of my friends, and they too have read and enjoyed it.

Summary: A Great Love Story, But Nicholas Sparkes would do it better
Review: It was a very sad story (the diary part) with a happy ending (for the person reading the diary). Patterson's style is very sappy & choppy. I enjoyed the book, but a note to Mr. Patterson, 'You are not Nicholas Sparkes!' (Sparkes writes beautiful, enriched love stories IMHO)

I'm waiting for a follow-up to "1st to Die" and your next Alex Cross novel "Violets are Blue".

Summary: Pointless
Review: As I said, nice turn of phrase, but completely pointless.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: An unforgettable love story.
Review: How good is this novel? Good enough to tingle your heart into the night with shear delight. The novel is layered with sentiment and simple spiritual truths, while acknowledging the reality of pain, healing and loss. This novel is a departure from the thrillers he is known for, but readers will be pleased to find fast-paced suspense in this love story. Though there's not a murder to be found amongst any of the pages, readers will find the familiar short chapters and surprising twists that they've come to expect from him, while those just looking for a good love story will find it here too. This novel captures beautifully the joys of a new family interlaced into an unforgettable love story. A deeply warm and comforting read.

Summary: I really wanted to like it...
Review: I don't see how anyone can call this a surprise ending, this book had nowhere else to go from the very start; there was only one ending possible. Fans of John Irving's 'Prayer for Owen Meany' will know what I am talking about when I say that this offering from Patterson is 'made for television'. The parable about the five balls in the air was interesting, at least, although I fail to see what it has to do with this sappy love story. I hope Patterson checks this genre off on his 'to do' list and goes back to his strong suit.

Summary: A True Classic Love Story....Beautiful!!!
Review: I absolutely loved this book! It had me captivated right from the start. It took me through so many different emotions, I wasn't exactly sure what direction the story was going to take and I definitely was surprised and touched. It is one of the most beautiful stories I have ever read. I felt I was right in the story. The life lessoons brought especially got to me. It is one of those stories that will stay with me for a long time. I loved it!!! Thank You James Patterson!!!!!

Summary: James Patterson Lets Me Down Hard!
Review: I watched with anticipation a TV interview with Patterson on his latest novel, Suzanne's Diary For Nicholas, and bought it. I have long read and enjoyed his suspenseful crime novels. Now I realize this was a departure. But I found it to be sophomoric, soapy, deadly dull, altogether a very disappointing read. I felt suckered in and resented it. I hope to save others from getting ripped off. Save your money and wait for his new release coming out this fall. Truly, it could have been written by a student assistant (might have been). I started to just abandon the story, but decided to stick it out to the bitter and predictable end. Sorry.
