Rating: Summary: Don't waste your time or your money. Review: Cheezie book!!! How dare James Patterson make reference to Bridges of Madison County and use the beautiful and trajic love story of John Kennedy and Jacqueline Bisset Kennedy to sell this shallow nothing of a so called novel. If offends me for him to try to equate this with "Bridges". Not even in the same galaxy!!!
Rating: Summary: light and easy Review: This was very light and easy reading and definitely a page turner, not to mention the life lesson you get of what's important in life. I found myself trying to guess what was going to happen, as did the narrator of the book. I enjoyed the book and would recommend it to anyone that wants a quick enjoyable read.
Rating: Summary: Suzanne's Diary for Nicholas left me Spent! Review: This book touched me in so many ways. It was sensitive and thought provoking. When I reached the chapter called "Matthew", my heart sunk because I knew at that point what had probably taken place. I was right, but I wasn't shocked or thrown until I began to read that chapter. I have never been so moved by a book. I was absolutely sobbing. Finishing the book was no easy task considering the sobbing lasted long after I was done. I spent the rest of the day, (I read the book in one day, how could I put it down?) thinking of the characters and of James Patterson. Read the jacket from the book, I can't get Mr. Patterson out of my mind. Thank you, Thank you!!
Rating: Summary: Breathtaking! Review: This book was inspiring, and magical. Thoughtful, mesmerizing and touching - I could go on, and on! James Patterson found his voice in this tragic and uplifting love story. The characters were so real, and so true. Nothing can prepare you for falling in love with all four characters - Matt, Suzie, Nick and Katie. I found that I loved each of them, for the gifts that they gave each other, and for the gifts that they left with me. This book talks about love and loss and finding love again. It made me cry, and laugh - it made me sad and happy, and it especially made me feel - right from page one. A must read! It would be a shame if you didn't get to know these wonderful characters. Bravo James! You did it!
Rating: Summary: Pass the Insulin! Review: Diabetics everywhere, beware! You will need to adjust your insulin dose to deal with all the sweetness in this book! Call me cynical, but I think Patterson and his fans would be far better served if he stuck to the thriller genre. I am a mother who adores her sons; I have also been in love with a marvelous man. But this too, too idyllic and too, too tragic tale with its thoroughly predictable ending is just too, too much. It is sort of like trying to make a meal off cotton candy--pleasant on the tongue, but absolutely no substance to satisfy. Cloying at best; a minor waste of reading time at worst.
Rating: Summary: character's came alive Review: This is the first James Patterson book I've read but I certainly intend to read more. Mr.Patterson did a excellent job. The character's came alive for me. I could feel the pain Katie felt because Matt had left her. And her surprise and dismay at the diary he sent her, that was written by his wife Suzanne for their son Nicolas. I knew she wouldn't be able to keep herself from reading it I would of had to read it too. I could feel Suzanne's love and joy for Nicolas, the child she never thoght she'd have because of her heart problems. I could feel how very much in love she was with her husband. I could feel my thoughts about Matt changing when he finally open up and let his feelings out. We all need to remember the secret of the 5 balls. And keep in mind which ones are glass so need to be treated with care. And which one is rubber and will bounce back if dropped. Thank-you Mr. Paterson for sharing this literary masterpiece with us.
Rating: Summary: James Patterson wins again Review: I have always been a avid reader of his books and this one just proves James Patterson can write in a completely different vien.I found the book one of those read at one "sitting"books.
Rating: Summary: Not into Romance? Review: I am an advid murder mystery reader and not one for the romance novels but I took a chance on this book knowing how well I like Paterson's writing about Alex Cross. Well I was surprised. I have never found a story so sweet and tender that when I got to the end I was in tears. He wrote a beautiful story of love and the fear to love again. I recommend this to everyone who could use a lift in their heart.
Rating: Summary: Oh, please. Review: I'm sorry -- this is someone's work. It came out of a personal experience. But it stunk. I know this is the type of book to be hailed as a great love story, a 3-hanky tear jerker, with just oodles of depth and human emotion. It'll most certainly be a reading-group staple. It's simply awful. It's loaded with cliches, characters that are simply not to be believed -- down to the baby. Even HE was idealized to the point of making the reader think, "oh come ON now," when you'd read something. But honestly, I think I could have stomached this more if it weren't for the wink. Gag. At least the main character didn't wear sandals, or have his shirt constantly tacked to his body with his manly sweat. I'd say, skip it. There are better fluff books to take to the beach, that are plain old fun.
Rating: Summary: "Heartwarming" my arse! Review: Predictable, cliché, sappy and no character depth. What a waste of time and money! I can't believe anyone gave this peice of trash a five star review. All the characters of this novel had the same personality and I never got emotionally invested in any of them. Frankly, I couldn't wait for it to come to it's very predictable end so I could finish gagging.
