Summary: Thank you Mrs. Vanzant
Review: My boyfriend and I read this book together, and we learnd so much! This is not at all a book that nesseseraly leads to a breakup, its a book that guids you into living a better life. It gave us a better understaninding of ourselves, and that is really the greatest gift to give someone you love. This is really the most difficult part of life; loving yourself! We are still learning....

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: AN OUTSTANDING TREASURE!!!!!!
Review: I really enjoyed reading this book and look forward to reading more of Ms. Vanzant's extraordinary literary work! This book helped me to be aware of my own destructive and unhealthy habits in my relationships. It helped me to "clean" my inner being and learn to grow and love unconditionally. I know that the light and the true essence of love will enter my life unconditionally! Thank you, Iyanla! Be blessed!

Summary: A Must Read
Review: In The Meantime gets strait to the point..It arouses many emotions if one is open to it..She points out that we are not taught to express and be true to ourselves and explains how we can uncover our hidden trash. I think her principles should be the foundation we all live by...LOVE

Summary: Great
Review: Iyanla, you are wonderful. Miss Vanzant struck a chord with me in the very first pages of the book. And to the Southern California critic...if you believe a book is what makes a woman leave a man, then maybe you need to clean out your own inner house.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: FINALLY FREEDOM....
Review: Iylana YOU are awesome keep up the the GREAT work -- and to the Southern California "critic"... Iylana says SILENCE is the best response....

Summary: DIRECTLY LEADS TO A SEPARATION OR DIVORCE--READ THIS
Review: (NEGATIVE 5 STARS) After reading this book about finding love and being in the "meantime," my wife is separating from a man who loves her unconditionally, is faithful to her (and even believes that staring at other women is being unfaithful to the mariage vows), had to be told to stop bringing her so too many flower and helps her in anyway he knows how.

SAVE YOUR MONEY AND TAKE THIS ADVICE INSTEAD!!!!!

Just tell your man EXACTLY what it is that makes you happy and chances are he'll try to do it. MEN are different and need to be told how to make women happy (actually we prefer if things were suggested in a way that we think we thought of the action). Nevertheless, we want to please our mate!

Ms. Vanzant writes about needing to clean out the various levels of your house in order to love yourself but also adds on page 37 that "As it relates to relationships, most of us don't know where we are most of the time. That's because our ideas and beliefs keep changing....we keep trying to figure out what to do and how to do it." What is she trying to say?

Summary: A "how-to" book on soul searching-teaches how to look within
Review: If someone had told me that I would find the answers to all of my failed loves within myself, I wouldn't have believed them. This book helped me to see my role in the romantic woes in my life. It teaches how to LOVE even in the most adverse situations. The witty way it compares soul-searching to housecleaning kept my interest and made it "user-friendly" - even to a woman like me who hates housework! I'm typically not the self-help kinda girl-but I would recommend this to anyone who is experiencing difficulties getting it together with a man. It will be a revelation to learn that you CAN do something about it. If you learn to love from within, it comes back to you.

Summary: Cleaning Up and divorcing old relationships is necessary
Review: This book is outstanding for those of us who have just broken up with someone and find it hard to move on. Iyanla also address the "staying just for the sake of not being alone" type of relationships, when there's little left in common with you and your mate. I found cleaning up and throwing away everything that reminded me of the person extremely helpful. Nobody expected us to still be together anymore but me and my mind. Yet my heart knew it had been over for years. I really feel a sense of growth from reading this book.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: POWERFUL, BUT LACKING CLARITY
Review: Iyanla's "..Meantime" does have some strong, essential truths, but her abstract references to "spring cleaning" are very distracting, and the way she skips back and forth between life examples can annoy the hell out if you, especially if you bought the book to "get clear" on your issues. If you aren't facing an immediate crisis and have the patience to wade through the exhausting analogies to housework, you can pick out some very good advice. If you have more pressing matters that need attention now, however, get "Value In the Valley." That book really cuts to the heart of things.
