Rating: Summary: First time a bit confusing...second time around was worth it Review: The first time I read ITMT, I was a bit lost. That was about a year ago. I decided to give it another try after attending the Meantime tour. What I realized was that the first time I was attempting to read the book, I wasn't ready. I wasn't ready for the truth. I had not come to the realization that I had some issues that needed resolving. Now that I am there--(no boyfriend, drama, etc.) I am able to grasp what it is Iyanla is saying. Yes, the book is a bit repetitive. However, you need to hear things more than once when you are in the meantime. I know I did because a part of me was still in denial. The Jeri-Willy story did lose me for a while but the lesson was still there. This book is for those who are ready to face their reality and come into the truth. It changed my prespective on life and love.
Rating: Summary: in the meantime the cd version Review: The cd version of this book is wonderful as is the book. The music is catchy and the words are very meaninful, just like the book. Iyanla's introductions before each song are uplifting. I love everything this women writes and does. She has helped me find myself. I am not a women of color, but a women. I do think men can also benefit from her words of wisdom, if they would let themselves open up and read her works.
Rating: Summary: Inspirational Review: This book is very inspirational. It helps us to focus on how life should be if we would take the time to recognize ourselves, before we get involved with others. It helps us to look within the self first, then to others. I am buying several copies for gifts.
Rating: Summary: the most powerful impact you can allow yourself Review: This book is well-written--in terms that ANYone can relate to, with scenarios we've all seen or lived through. If everyone allowed him/herself to integrate and practice the advice she gives into our daily lives, this world would be a better place.
Rating: Summary: No negative stars? Review: Who is Oprah kidding? This book barely even qualifies as a book--after reading as much of it as I could stand, I'm not even sure the author is literate. It sounds as if it was dictated into a tape recorder by someone who wasn't much for public speaking, either. The author sounds like a nice enough person, but there is almost nothing in the way of "content" in this book. Spend your money and time on one of Barbara DeAngelis's books.
Rating: Summary: I have given this book to each of my close friends. Review: I read this book in nuggets, when I needed something to pick me up. She inspires me to live life to the fullest. Ms Vanzant writes as if she was talking directly to you. This is a book you will want to share with friends who are having a rough time in life. They will thank you for it.
Rating: Summary: READ IT NOW!!!!! Review: I am 23 years old and this book has helped me to discover that I needed to love myself more. When you trust and love yourself, then the love you are looking for will appear one day. This book has given me the self-confidence not to marry someone out of fear or for convenience. I truly believe that this book has helped me from making the biggest mistake of my life. Thank You Iyanla!!!
Rating: Summary: I can't put it down to go to sleep at night!!!!!! Review: This book does an excellent job of helping you find your equilibrium and loving yourself in order to effectively love others. Iyanla identifies actions we sometimes display in our relationships and helps us to understand why we did certain things. She writes in a way you can really relate to. I recommend this book to anyone out there who knows that they have a lot going for them but cannot seem to get it right when it comes to love and relationships.
Rating: Summary: More than words can ever express. Review: I feel as if my life is at its turning point and I don't know what to do.I read this book and now I feel as if all my unanswered question are answered. No one has ever been able to reach me as deep inside as Mrs.Vanznt has throught the power of her book. I really enjoyed this book and I would suggest this book for any who has an sense of emptiness deep within that no one can fulfill.
Rating: Summary: WONDERFUL - MAKES ME LATE 4 THE OFFICE - I CAN'T PUT IT DOWN Review: Although I'm only half way through (because I've been reading too fast) this book has not only changed the way I look at my personal relationship, but has also helped me deal with my professional relationships!
