Summary: An awesome soul-revealing book.
Review: Author Iyanla Vanzant speaks mostly about the importance of "living in the now", something we all know but are too busy to practice. She does a nice job too of comparing the Western style of "Doing" as opposed to the Eastern style of "Being." Linking the two cultural aspects could not have been an easy task, and I applaud Ms. Vanznant for having the courage to reach into a women's soul, and to draw out the ugliness that lives there. She is well informed as an author who knows women's most intimate feelings. Men would do well to read this book as well. She is able to consolidate religion, psychology, and psychotherapy all in one book. It is truly an amazing story.

Summary: In the meantime - it's okay to be single
Review: This book was the breakthrough book for me in my self-discovery and empowerment phase. I have learned to be okay with me and expect nothing greater than I am willing to give in my relationships. Thanks, Iyanla, for talking about what most won't. I haven't reached the attic yet, but I'm just one floor below it. When I stumble on the stairs of life, I can at least look to this book to help me build a safety rail to climb more successfully the next time. Iyanla, you are the "bomb". ;)

Summary: This is already my 2nd time reading the book and I love it
Review: This book has been a real help to me in discovering and accepting where I am in my life and understanding where I have been. It has helped me to understand what it takes to love myself and truly love and be loved by another. If you are ready to take your relationships to a higher level and are tired of making the same mistakes over and over again, this book can be an amazing guide to improving your relationships with all people including yourself. I reccommend it whole heartedly and know I will re-read and refer to what I have learned in this book throughout the rest of my life.

Summary: Just In Time.
Review: I have been In the Meantime, only I didn't know it and was crying out to God to help me please. Coming to the end of myself was very painful. And then, I watched Iyanla on Oprah, and went to the library and signed up for as many books as I could. One came in - In the Meantime. I cried, tears of relief and welcome as I read the introduction. I welcomed the journey, and thanked God for Iyanla. My husband is reading her too. We have been journeying thru the Meantime, and are very thankful to find we have been right on target, and in Love all the time! What a Blessing!

Summary: Get Ready
Review: If you are committed to finding inner truth and uncovering hidden obstacles that may clutter your path to happiness --- get ready because this book offers terrific advice. Though In the Meantime can be dense reading, be patient as it does deliver wholeheartedly. I highly recommend it and have given this book to many friends. Cheers, Iyanla!

Summary: very informative piece of literature everyone must read
Review: I really liked this book. It was very informative and basically broke down the key steps in finding yourself as a person and loving being. When you love yourself and pretty much know what you want in life in a healthy way then you will be ready to embark on a love affair. That is the point I interpreted from the book. It gave me a feeling of being worth it. It definitely was my power shake. I know that I'm still finding myself and will probably never complete that, but i have a better sense of myself and what is unhealthy and healthy in a relationship.

Summary: This book is a fantastic book to help find yourself.
Review: This book is a great book to help one get a better understanding of ourselves and the areas in our lives we need to improve. It also helps you understand that you need to know yourself and why you do the things you do in order to make any improvements. This book provides a very DEEP insight into life itself - it helped me to realize a lot of things I had been doing over and over again tht were really self-defeating. This is an excellent book if you're trying to do some self-improvement. I recommend this book to everyone, it is excellent, SIMPLY EXCELLENT!

Summary: This book became a remarkable experience for me!!!
Review: I am a mature young woman of twenty-three. I really enjoyed reading, "In The Meantime". I recommend this book for anyone who is in search of truth. Truth in every area of your life, be it love, your past, or yourself. I have never gained so much helpful knowledge concerning my life. When reading, I would often sit and soak in the love given from Iyanla's words. I will honestly say that I will never be the same. She encourages taking time to hear yourself think, listening to what your inner being (Spirit) is saying, and acting out on being true to yourself as well as loving with no conditions. An ounce of her knowledge shared is priceless when it comes to your well-being. If you would take the time for yourself to read and soak in the entire masterpiece you will begin to see the life that you want for yourself within your reach! This is an excellent book for ANYONE who's willing to sit back, openly listen, and learn. You will achieve more than what you've expected!!!
