Review: Gifted Hands is the inspirational story of Ben Carson, a top brain surgeon who grew up poor in Detroit's inner city. With his mother being a strong role model, insisting he value learning, education and hard work, he beat the odds. As a teacher, I would like to place a copy of this book in the hands of parents and teachers everywhere. Carson's story is a testament to the power of positive adult role models, hard work, faith and education.

Review: I got ahold of this book years ago and read it through about three times and then had the priviledge of meeting Dr. Ben Carson and obtaining his autograph. This book was an inspiration to me and really opened my eyes to see what I could do with my life if I used my brain right. People, if you haven't read this book, then it's about time you did!

Summary: MODERN-DAY HERO!
Review: What an inspiring story! This is a book about a man who truly overcame extreme obstacles in his life. I am a third grade teacher and I use this book at the beginning of the year to help my students see THEY CAN DO IT! In this day and age when we have Beavis & Butthead as "heroes"... it is so nice to have someone REAL for my students to admire. Someday I would love the oppotunity to meet Ben Carson - he is MY hero too.

Summary: Truly an awesome story!
Review: This has to be the best story that I read in recent times!! While it has been a few years since reading the pages, the story of Ben Carson is one that will stick in my head for a long time. His motivational way of bringing you into his life is phenomenal. And boy what a life!! I have to say that i felt an immediate bond with him, because I play classical music, and having done interviews in the medical field, I understand what an asset it can be! Way to go Dr. Carson!!

Review: This book prompted me to go back to college and finish my education. When my son turned 12 years old, I gave him the book to read and he totally loved it also. You just feel good reading about the struggles Ben Carson went through growing up and how he overcame the odds. I would recommend any single mothers raising sons to put this book on their child's must read list.

Summary: I am glad had read this book
Review: Dr. Carson's story of his sucess and hard work was motivitional to me. I really enjoyed reading how he strived to be the best he could be. And, how he always remembered that with God, he could do all things. His mother was an awesome woman, I wish we could find more mothers with her determination and committment to her children's education. I think this book should be required reading in schools.

Summary: A book for everyone to read. A true success story!
Review: Dr. Carson is a talented, Christian, and giving person which is a rare combination. In spite of all the odds against him, he made it! His mother, Sonya Carson was truly more than a Mother, she was one of his most valued role models.Furthermore, she provided the tools he and his brother needed to be good boys, men and fathers. The obstacles and triumphs he endured through his formative years were precious tools to enable him to become the person he his today. His faith in God, and committment to follow his dreams was without a doubt the key elements to his success. A book for everyone to read.

Summary: Inspirational and Exciting
Review: This book truly inspired me to motivate myself to do better. I felt that if Ben Carson, a poor inner city kid, could bring himself up to the head of pediatric neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins then I should be able to achieve my dreams also. I was also deeply moved by his strong faith in God and how he turned to God to help him. I believe this is one of the greatest books ever written and that everybody should read it.

Review: Gifted Hands to me was a book about Ben Carson,who was loved by people. He has the ability to do the job he wanted to do, his mother was the love of his life. Evertime he had a problem he remembered his mother's words. Ben knew from when he was a boy that he would have a long road ahead of him as a black man.
