Review: Ben Carson's, Gifted Hands, is a truly inspiring account of a young man's life filled with unbearable trials and remarkable accomplishments. Ben expounds on his life, from a poverty-striken child to a successful medical physician. He makes no hesitation at revealing that the reasons for his success are inspiration of his mother and his firm, unshaken belief in God. In his struggle to reach outstanding success at life goals, Ben faced many odds. The most challenging of all was his being an African- American. He tackled these odds to become one of the most sought-after professionals in his field of this time. His accomplishments and guidance serve as an inspiration to people of all races, genders, ages, and creeds.

Summary: Motivating and Inspiring!
Review: I am currently a student journalist majoring in Communications. When I began reading this book, I was almost ready to give up on my career and my education. This book literally changed my whole perception of my life! I absolutely love this book! Being a young African-American woman from the same type of background as Ben Carson, I realized that if I focus on my faith and my God-given talents I could do anything I want. I strongly recommend this book to anyone who needs a little motivation. I am now enjoying school and reading more inspirational books. My next book will be Think Big by Ben Carson.

Summary: kid with a dynamic mother,who turns from failure to success
Review: I have read Gifted Hands and Think Big and I should say they are very inspiring. I am a university student and reading these books has boosted me in the last couple of weeks since I read them. I have come to realise that I do have God given talents which I do not take time to really see. And I have learned to think big as well. thank your Dr. Ben Carson, you have inspired me to appreciate my talents and use them in my field of study and to seriously see the importance of having God in times of trouble and pain and to ask Him when I am encountered by difficulties, whatever they may be because He will always be there for me, as long as I ask.

Summary: Everyone has a special gift
Review: The one thing that I came away with in reading this book is that all of us have special gifts. We simply need to take stock in our own special talents. Being a neurosurgeon is just one of many things for people to become in this world. As Dr. Carson said, "Its not what you do, it's how WELL you do what you do. Striving for excellence and giving back to your community is the key to a successful life. All honest work is honorable. Money and fame are not the only measure of nobility. This man is to be admired for his faith, endurance, vision, character and integrity. A true hero for our modern times!!

Review: I read this book in the fifth grade, and it was then that I decided to work in the medical field. Well, I haven't graduated from high school yet, but I plan on it. This book was very inspirational and it makes you think. I reccommend it to everyone.

Review: This book, Gifted Hands, is one of my favorite books. I read this book when I was in the 7th grade and then again when Im a junior/senior in highschool. No matter how many times I read this book, I always find something I can relate to. Being an African American myself, I also plan on going into the medical field. I will always have much respect for him. DOC BEN CARSON is the best there ever was!....Oh yea, one more thing, I would rate this book higher than 5 stars, but 5 is the highest I can give it...

Summary: Motivational and Inspiring
Review: This book is my very favorite book! I want to be a neurosurgeon when I grow up and truly enjoyed reading about Dr. Ben Carson's exciting yet somewhat difficult life. I admire the fact that Dr. Carson is such a strong Christian. It made me feel good to know that even though his young life was very hard although through hard work he still achieved his goals. I would tell everyone, especially the people who are young and troubled, how great this book is. I am lucky enough to have a good home life but this book made me realize how hard it is for some people. I thought it was wonderful also how much emphasis his mother put on being anything he wanted. Dr. Ben Carson is one of the best role models anyone could have, in my opinion. I am looking forward to reading his other books. Please feel free to e-mail any quesrions about the book!
