Summary: Hated it!
Review: I LOVE Sandra Boynton. I do not like Philadelphia Chickens. Sorry! My kids think it's okay. The lyrics are clever, but the tunes aren't catchy. I don't find myself singing along or humming the tune after we stop listening to the cd. As much as I like Boynton's books, with this cd, she just laid an egg.

Summary: Philadelphia Chickens
Review: Sandra Boynton's whimsical illustrations complement the CD of charming and catchy "show tunes". Children can't stop themselves from dancing during some of the livelier songs. Adults enjoy it, too. Part of the profits benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and Juvenile Diabetes. Makes a great gift.

Summary: Awesome, uplifting and fun for all ages!
Review: I bought this book without too much thought because it was by Sandra Boynton and we have loved her prior books, especially "Moo, Baa, La-La-La" which I've memorized from reading to my 2-year old grandson so many times.

Well, the CD is an absolute delight. We frequently put it in while he's playing with his toys. It usually gets us dancing and singing which is quite funny if anyone walks in.

Summary: Can't Stop Singing the Songs!
Review: We love this book - both my husband and I, as well as our 5 month old daughter. A must have for anyone that loves to sing and dance and just be goofy!!!

Summary: 10 stars!
Review: Rather than repeat other reviews that give this book / cd 5 stars, I will tell you this. Last Saturday, my 3 year old grandson took the cd and "washed the floor" with it. It was ruined, of course (title floors) and I was heartbroken, as was he and his sister. I am sitting today, 5 days later with the replacement on the cd player at work. This is an amazing book and cd, worth replacing a hundred times if I have too!

Summary: Wonderful! Fantastic! Inspired!
Review: If Sandra and Michael are reading this: please make this into a live traveling revue! Myself, my husband, and our 15 month old daughter LOVE this Cd and book. The songs are original (Nobody Understands Me), philosophical (Be like a Duck), funny (The Intermission Song, Fifteen Animals, and well, all of the others), and oh so danceable (Belly Button)! When my husband comes home from work--usually stressed and cranky-- he pops in this Cd, grabs the baby and starts dancing. It took him less than two days to know all the words to all the songs. And it's really fun that celebrities sing many of the songs. Eric Stoltz's Snuggle Puppy has become a lullaby in our house (just substitute your child's name for "puppy"). A must have!

Summary: Remarkably entertaining for kids and adults!
Review: This is one of our all-time-best kids CDs. My kids haven't gotten tired of it yet! The songs are surprisingly sophisticated and clever. Cute and funny without being sickeningly sweet. Thank you Sandra Boynton and Michael Ford!

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Great for adults who don't like kids' music
Review: I don't have kids, but when I was a nanny, I loved Sandra Boynton's books because they were cute and clever and (above all) got my energetic charges to sit down for a few minutes. So when I saw that she had a new cd/book combo out, I just had to hear it (purely for research purposes, of course!).

Anyway, this is a wonderful CD for anyone, with or without kids. As one would expect from Boynton, the lyrics are silly and clever, and the songs often have a "twist" (like the sweet, wistful song to a faraway loved...chocolate chip cookie, or the gleeful list of the names of one character's "Fifteen Animals"). I particlularly like the songs that deal cheerfully with some of the less charming aspects of childhood, from sudden temper tantrums (I swear, hearing Patti Lupone screech "Noooo!" in "I Like to Fuss" is worth the price of the cd) to sleepy kids who won't go to sleep.

The music is also great, sampling from (and lampooning) a variety of styles (the new-agey "Belly Button" is hysterical!) Also wonderful are the character voices, particularly the aardvarks (who are having something of an identity crisis).

The only reason I didn't give this book five stars is that some of the slower songs drag a bit -- I could live without "Nobody Understands Me" or the too-sweet "Snuggle Puppy." However, I think this CD will be in my player for a while, and I will definitely be buying it for my friends with kids.

Summary: DELIGHTFUL
Review: This book is great..songs are delightful and pleasant. Kids can follow the words in the book and the music is provided to try it out on an instrument that your child may play.

I came back and bought more for gifts!!!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: enjoyable for all
Review: I found myself laughing at the songs, something you can listen to many times, not the usual Kiddy song that get old after a few plays.
