Rating: Summary: Makes you want to watch it. Review: The book adds stuff and deletes stuff that was found in the series. It made it so you knew what the characters were thinking, but it also mixed up some of the content. The book makes you want to watch the movie.
Rating: Summary: Wonderful Review: I thought that this book was very good. I saw the T.V. mini series but I didn't get to see all of it so I decided to get the book and the book was better then the series. The book and the mini series went well together and the series helped me sometimes in picturing what was happening in the book I think that who ever reads this book is going to love it.
Rating: Summary: The Best Book-- Hands Down Review: I absolutly loved the whole thing. I was hooked when I saw Prince Wendall turned into a dog.I watched the t.v. special, order the book, movie, and music, and I get blown away every time Wolf and Virginia kiss for the first time.I'm only 13,and I know I DON'T know everything, but I do know this. If your as big a "fantasy buff" as I am,and you haven't read this book.Well,You haven't read, seen,or heard anything yet.
Rating: Summary: One of the few books I was unable to finish. Review: I love fantasy and saw the ads for the TV series and thought this was something I would enjoy, I picked up the book. What a mistake! This book is so bad in some ways it is funny. A dog who has turned into a man recks havoc in an NY restraunt, please. However I really gave up on this book when the trolls with foot fetishs appeared. When a bunch of trolls stand around and say that when they have servants they are going to have parties where they change there shoes 10 times an hour and anyone with dirty shoes will have their mouths sewn shut, I threw the book in the trash UGG! This could have been a funny charming novel, but sadly it wasn't. I really wanted to like this book but I just couldn't.
Rating: Summary: Page-turner! Review: I was a little intemidated @ first when I saw the length of this book, but it was well worth the while! Virginia, Wolf, Tony, & Prince are all imagnitive characters who all have a very important part this fun-filled, comical and romantic adventure story. Starting in modern NYC, and traveling through space and time to a far off land of trolls, Evil Queens, and magic of all sorts. This book really is a fairytail for anyone from 9-90! I couldn't put it down & I know you won't be able to either! I'm would love to read more books of this type, please e-mail me w/ suggestions!
Rating: Summary: Mirror, Mirror.... Review: For those of you who were living under a rock or just too involved in your "Gillian" reruns here is a brief synopsis of 10th Kingdom. A wicked queen, evil trolls, a prince that has been turned into a dog, and magical mirrors are just some of the things you will find in this collection of modernized fairy tales. As Virginia and her father Tony stumble upon this magical land they meet up with Prince Wendell (the furry Golden Retriever), and Wolf, the odd but lovable wolf that has a crush on his fellow traveler Virginia. As Virginia and Tony search for the Mirror to return them home, they realize their true mission is to save the kingdom from the wicked queen who seems all too familiar..... Okay Not the best review but I didn't want to give away too much. It is quite enjoyable. If you haven't seen the mini series get that as well it is well worth it. As take note of the forward by Robert Halmi, Sr. It will make you feel like a kid again.
Rating: Summary: Fabulous. Review: I saw the 10 hour mini series on TV, But not all of it. SO I bought the 3 dvd boxset. after watching that i thought how well made it was, i especially liked wolfie. I later on bought the mass market paper back, had it on the shelf for a few weeks but was then ad mitted into hospital, I read 12 chapters in one night. Its one of those books you just can put down, and all the details of prince wendell's sarcasim comes throught even though its just the book. maybe i should have read the book first but im more of a movie girl. Now ive heard rumers that this movie was made for kids, well i am no kid, i am 24 years old but still a kid at heart i guess. no matter what format you choose i earge you to have a look at one, i havent finished the book but i will. tonight.
Rating: Summary: Fabulous story Review: If you liked fairytales as a kid, this is a must-read. The fairytales you read as a kid come to life once more as you run into familiar characters (or their decendants) such as Snow White, Little Bo Peep, Red Riding Hood, Cinderella and more. The characters are realistic and the plot is engaging. I picked this one up at an airport before leaving on a 5-hour flight, and was so engrossed in the storyline that I the flight attendant had to say "Ma'am?" about 5 times before I snapped out of it and heard her. :-)
Rating: Summary: Loved it gotta read it again! Review: Loved the movie but let's face it ten hours! The book was alot more conveninet. one of the things I like best about the book was that we know what's running though Wendell's mind in the moments after being turned into a dog. and the one thing I missed was the frog seane. If you missed the movie then defiatly read the book.
Rating: Summary: A mystical journey through a magical world Review: We often ask ourselves what happened after happily ever after. What happened to Cinderella and Snow White? This book gives a unique perspective on what happened. If you liked the movie you will like the book. You are transported to a world full of evil, magic, danger, and romance. You see as the characters travel around the 9 Kingdoms in search of a magic mirror that will take them home accompanied by a dog that used to be a prince and a wolf. They have to overcome many difficulties including their own emotions during thier adventures. Even people who do not enjoy reading will enjoy reading this book.
