Summary: A Real SUSPENSE Novel that'll DEFINITELY keep you guessing!
Review: The premise alone was enough to make me want to pick up the book -- a single woman who only messes with married woman being stalked by one of her boyfriends wives. As a former victim of adultery, I loved it! But I had no idea just how much I was going to be sucked into this book! I REALLY wanted to figure out the identity of the stalker, and I'm usually great at "whodunit" guessing -- but i kept switching my vote from one character to another. I'm telling you I was caught up! I couldn't put the book down until I found out the stalker's identity. I'ma tell ya...Gloria Mallette fooled me, and I loved it! This book is a real must read!

Review: I'm not one for reading mystery and suspense, but this book was excellent.I didn't put it down until I finished it.Marissa is a successful black woman who had it all except for her own man. She was into married men. She never thought about the consequences until her life was being threatened by someone who wants her dead. You will be shocked when you find out the stalker..and no cheating! Read this book:)

Summary: Just One Woman's Opinion
Review: The book was a good read but hard to not be frustrated with it considering there were no character descriptions, except the apparently poor description of the stalker. To go through an entire book not knowing if someone is tall, short, black, white, thin, or heavy, drove me nuts. I have read a lot of books in my day and never have I read a book where the characters had blank faces. Outside of that I liked how Gloria Mallette broke Marissa down from someone who felt so strongly about her views on dating married men, to her slowly coming to realize that she wasn't as happy as she had talked herself into believing she was. In fact she was down right empty. I also like the underlying plot of the brewing attraction between she and Levi and how ultimately Marissa came to realize that you shouldn't judge a book by it's cover. No pun intended! This book sends a message that not until one is totally honest with one's self can one be truly happy. A lesson for everyone.

Review: Shades of jadesNow at first I couldn't get into this book. I thought about putting it down many times. Because at first I had stereotyped it. But it turned out to be very eventful, intriguing and suspenseful. The threats were very scarey. I related to them especially since I'm single and live alone. I was wondering what was really going on, when he/she became so bold and to go to her private secluded apartment and leave notes and do all sort of damage to her car. I thought to myself, wow! I was on pins and needles trying to figure out what was going on. So many times I thought going to the end and reading the book backwards but I didn't want to miss anything. Marissa character is what can I say, totally off the hook. Yes she was remorseful and felt guilt; after all she felt it not her fault that their women couldn't do what she did for them. Her desire and passion for married men was a mystery to me. But still who would want to hurt her. But when I found out it was her friends lover, I nearly flipped my wig. I was so outdone I did not know what to do. I can only imagine (though I've never experienced it and hopefully never will) how her girlfriend must have felt knowing her fiance is gay. The man who she is about to marry. Wow!!!!! And then for her and her friend to argue over her lifestyle wasn't uncommon. It's a books you must read you won't be able to put it down. I read this book in three days. There were parts I had gotten to when I found myself up past midnight not wanting to put it down. And having to get up for work the next day at 5:30 was beginning to take it's toll on me, but I couldn't put it down. I loved it. Make me wonder though if she would ever settle down and get married. She really had a lot to offer as a person. Excellent, exciting and heart jerking dialogue. I loved it.

Review: I thought that I had solved the mystery in the third chapter. Then I knew who the person was in the 10th chaper. And by the end of the book I realized I knew nothing. I was all off, this book kept me up late and made me get up early. This is a great book the author did a really good job.

Review: i thought "Shades Of Jade" was an excellent read. the story line, and her writing style are excellent. i like the way she allowed her characters to tell the story with their dialog, it really moves the story along and makes it come alive. as i read i could see her characters in my minds eyes. i could see and felt for Marissa, felt her fear. and she fooled me so completely with her ending. "Shade Of Jade" is absolutely outstanding! i am waiting for her next offering.

This one will definitly leave you wanted more. Gloria Mallette has done a marvelous job with this her secound book. Summary: Suspenseful and Romantic
Review: The old saying that you always find love in the strangest place is so true in this boo. Marissa judged a book by its cover and then ended up wanting to read it from front to back. I liked how Ms. Mallette made every character suspicious. You knew it wasn't someone obvious, but then you suspected everyone. I also liked how the romance between Levi and Marissa was intertwined into the suspense. I would never have suspected the character that is was, but I didn't rule him/her out. Although, Marissa had it coming to her, why should she get away with it when "it" was morally wrong. Marissa is no saint, but she also was hurt in the process by a past love, so some of it was justifiable. I was glad Levi came into her life when he did. Everyone woman needs her knight in shining armour and that he was for Marissa. Very suspenseful and entertaining. Goes to show, you never know who you are dealing with these days!
