Summary: Slightly under par for Evanovich
Review: Although Stephanie Plum is as funny and ditzy as in the past, the book lacked the laugh out loud scenes that I have read in previous books. This book was no disapointment but just a hair less than most of the others. You won't be left unsatisfied by Grandma Mazur,Lula and the other misfits Stephanie has in her colorful life.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Another Great Stephanie Plum Rollarcoaster Ride!
Review: I enjoyed 'Seven Up' every bit as much as all of Ms. Evanovich's previous novels. Every page was delightful, every story twist was had me biting my nails. In fact, when I finished the book, I couldn't face reading any other author - so I pulled out all of the earlier Stephanie Plum novels and started re-reading them! Don't believe the naysayers - get this book!

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Ok Read but Nothing to Crow About
Review: If it weren't for the characters in the New Jersey neighborhood of this novel, a lively, blue collar, quirky ethnic bunch, I would never pick up one of these books. The grandmother especially is a priceless character and probably the sole reason I read this book. These novels also are funny in spots so you are entertained. However, I know no more about lead character Stephanie Plum or her two boyfriends, Morelli or Ranger, than I did 6 novels ago when reading book #1. Evanovich does no character development with these three lead characters. Since these are matchstick characters, I really don't even care which man Plum ends up with permanently. The novel functions mainly to amuse you around a mystery and a romance. The mystery element is as lightweight as the romance element, however. This time it involves an aging hood who Plum must bring in as a bounty hunter. There's a problem because he had, and then lost, some other hood's heart and so there are people other than Plum on his trail too. Frankly, this mystery plot was so lame I didn't even pay much attention to it, looking forward instead to the scenes with the characters from the neighborhood, especially Grandma's scenes.

Summary: Seven Up- series still tickles but not enough fizz
Review: Seven Up is the latest in the Stephanie Plum series. While Seven continues to provide the laughs, the characters appear to be getting rather flat. How much longer are we going to be baited with Stephanie's fickle libido? It seems by now her character should have evolved more. Nothing too serious since this is a light mystery series but shake things up a bit. Seven UP seemed to cover a lot of the same territory as previous books. The plot itself seemed muddled at times and not as finely crafted. (personal favorite- Three To Get Deadly) However, Seven Up does entertain and this reader remains hooked on the series.

Summary: Couldn't put this down
Review: I am an avid reader. Rarely though, do I find a mystery that can continuously hold me from beginning to end. This book does. Ms. Evanovich has written a witty, sexy mystery. Secretly, I hope to be just like Grandma when I "grow up". I can't wait for the next Stephanie Plum mystery.

Summary: Seven Up Lost its Fizz
Review: I read the first 6 Stephanie Plum books in about 3 weeks and was kept intersted although the formula is repetitive. In this book the character Mooner is outdated and there is none of the suspense and tension of most of the first 6 books. Our dear Ms. Plum needs a change of scenery and plot. PULEEZZZ don't have her marry anyone...shades of a network sitcom. I'm hopeful S. Plum's adventures will return to form. At least with Grafton, "Z" is the end...with these, its infinity!

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: disappointing
Review: Not as funny or interesting as any of the others. No character development other than Grandma's libido and the "tension" between Steph and Ranger/Morelli. More of the same, but we;ve read it already. nothing new, and not even a fire in the funeral parlor.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: A Personal Opinion
Review: I have absolutely loved the Stephanie Plum books and was practically on the edge of my chair in anticipation for Seven Up. Unfortunately I did not find Seven Up nearly as absorbing and funny as the others. I can only hope that any future Stephanie Plum novels will return to the previous entertainment quality.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: It deserves a three star rating, but I just couldn't do it
Review: That's right, this book was not nearly as good as the other six. The only reason I did not give it a three star rating is because I like Stephanie Plum and Grandma Majur so much. This book did not have the humor that the others had. Even the romance was slacking. I will not tell you NOT to buy it, just don't buy it brand new. Wait for a used copy, or paperback. I was so anxious for this book, that I ordered it from Amazon.com about six weeks before it came out. And, I will probably do the same for #8.

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: What a disappointment!
Review: I expected the usual laugh-out-loud, quick witted humor that permeated the other 6 books. I didn't want the others to end-I couldn't get through this one fast enough. Evanovich is so much better than this lack-luster effort. I hope the next one is not subtitled "Eight is Enough."
