Summary: Stephanie Plum is getting pruny
Review: Like many others, I've been an avid reader of Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series since the outrageously funny "One For The Money." However, the latest Plum caper, "Seven Up," continues the downward spiral of the series that started with "High Five." Stephanie's been doing the bounty-hunter thing for a while; you'd think by now she'd be, if not an expert, at least a little more competent. But no, she still bumbles and stumbles her way along. She's still destroying cars and chasing old people around too, devices that are REALLY getting old. And if I ever read one more description of Bob the golden retriever's bowel movements or one more insult-fest between Stephanie and Joyce Barnhart (finished with Lula zapping Joyce with her stun gun), it'll be too soon. And of course, we have the whole Stephanie/Morelli/Ranger thing going, which is also getting boring, because I predict that in the next book Stephanie will have her little fling with Ranger and then go trotting right back to Morelli in classic romance-novel form (Evanovich wrote for Silhouette for years before beginning Stephanie's adventures). I'll admit right now I will read number eight, because I'm an optimist at heart, but Evanovich needs to shake this series up in a major way--and soon.

Summary: Half and Half
Review: I tried the audio version because I have a long ride back and forth to work. Instead of amusing me, the voice irritated me, especially, when she tried for Joe Morelli. Joe and Ranger are gods to me and one should not make them sound like girls trying to sound like boys. Hey, I'm fussy with my men. So, I bought the book and went on from there Chapter 7. A few good laughs as ususal, more zany characters and the usual cliffhanger. Janet has not lost a fan in me; am just a little disappointed.

Summary: Fun On Every Page
Review: Stephanie Plum is on the trail of Eddie DeChooch. He is an old, shady character and although he is half-blind, going deaf and suffering from depression, he manages to elude Stephanie in one embarrassing situation after another. Then two of Stephanie's friends go missing and Grandma Mauzer is kidnapped. The plot gets a little scattered, but it is all brought together for a satisfying conclusion. The thing I like most about Stephanie is that she seems so human. She has small problems that seem enormous to her. She solves her big problems with bakery items, luck and a little help from her friends. Grandma Mauzer is one of my favorite characters and she has a prominent role in this installment. The sexual tension between Stephanie, Morelli and Ranger continues. JE is doing a wonderful balancing act in keeping these relationships alive and well. Janet Evanovich's books are always a fast read and there is fun on every page.

Summary: 7 UP
Review: This series offers mystery with lots of giggles and laughs. The writer mixes both with great results....a great summer read. Since I lived in Trenton, NJ many years ago and am familiar with her locations, I can only say...she hits the nail on the head! I loved it and can't wait for.....8....?

Summary: Not her best, but pretty darn good
Review: I've noticed -- now that I've discovered the Stephanie Plum series -- that each of the first six books is funnier and better written than the one before. Ms. Evanovich seems to have plateaued with Seven Up, but it's still a great summertime read. By the way, what's with the enigmatic love scenes at the end of these books??? Write faster, Janet! I'm anxious to find out if fantastic reality is as good as real fantasy. (I sure hope so ...)

Summary: Every book just keeps heating it up!!!!!!
Review: Classic Evanovich with Stephanie getting herself in as much trouble as she is getting paid to get someone else out of!! Her love life just keeps heating up with Joe? Ranger? Talk about sex a little rampant and not necessary with such great characters but another can't wait ending!!!!!!

Summary: Another humorous installment, bring on number eight.
Review: How does Seven Up add up? Everything you've come to expect are here: the trademark zany humor, inept bounty hunting, colorful secondary characters, and New Jersey community. Laugh out loud funny, a quick read, a good continuation of the series. Grandma Mazur is a scream, as always.

It is my perverse reader's nature to want Stephanie's relationship with Joe Morelli to be settled. I won't give anything away, but suffice it to say that this book is not the conclusion of the series. I said something to Ms. Evanovich about her annoying proclivity for cliffhangers when she was down here and she laughed. She's found a formula that brings readers back for more. Fie on this cheap trick!

...And bring on the next Stephanie Plum! ' )

Summary: A Winner!
Review: This is the funiest, wackiest, laugh out loud best Stephanie Plum novel to-date!

I could't put it down, and couldn't stop grinning!

Sexual tensions run high - with Ranger making a deal Stephanie can't accept? or can she?

Stephanie yields to pressure from mom and announces her wedding plans to Morelli - and goes along with the over-zealeous wedding plans the family is making - until...

Of course she's tracking her bounty - a slippery trigger-happy senior citizen who keeps eluding her. Bob the dog does his part to add to the humor. Grandma Mazur is in top form.

Add to the mix a couple of guys high on life, or at least high - and you have a top notch adventure.

I very highly recommend this.

Janet - where's #8? Don't make us wait a year PLEASE!

Summary: Completely Hooked
Review: I just read all seven books in about 2 weeks and I am completely hooked, trolling web sites looking for more details and any information on WHEN BOOK 8 IS COMING OUT!! Highly recommended. Fast read, but well written and funny without tripping over the edge into stupidly ridiculous. Good depth to characters, however, too much Grandma Mazur for me.

Summary: her best book yet
Review: stephanie is back, and better than ever in this, the most recent of the stephanie plum novels. the story will keep you on your toes, biting your tongue so you don't tell stephanie what to do, and you'll be laughing out loud at some of the antics pulled by stephanie's family!
