Summary: Excellent source of inspiration!
Review: I can't figure out why some people would rate this book so negatively. This is an epic story of tradegy and hope. Lisa Beamer is an incredible woman who has experienced a nightmare that we pray never happens to us. Yet she has incredible courage, faith, and strength through our Lord in the midst of this crisis. I can only hope that I would be that strong given the same circumstances. I know her husband is looking down on her from heaven smiling and being proud. God knew how strong she was when he allowed such a tradegy to occur.

This book just tells her story. That's it. Personally, it encouraged and inspired me to be more like her in my faith!

Summary: Atheists and the self-sufficient need not read this one.
Review: All I wanted to do is read the reviews for a book in which I have only read snippets of, and lo and behold a mass of disconnected souls had read and slammed the book shut! I wonder why such superior creatures would be found interested in reading a title directly testifying to weakness and hope when they obviously cope very well in an evil world. Oops, that's right, evil doesn't exist in their world after all, only degrees of discomfort and relative ethics. No absolutes, except in their religious dogma of having no absolutes. No objective truth, no good or bad ultimately.
This book is for only the weak believer in a sovereign God. No one else. If you are curious as to the frame of mind Lisa Beamer is dwelling in after her trial(s), suffice it to say that she is not like you. She foolishly believes in the Jesus of the Bible, and takes refuge in His power and promises.
"Self-help" is the section you are probably looking for, but since you are certain that all the answers come from your inherent wisdom and sufficiency, you should probably just write THE final book yourself.

Summary: Her Own Way
Review: After reading some of the very negative reviews about "Let's Roll" I felt compelled to put in a good word for Lisa Beamer and her book. The book is not GREAT literature, nor is it meant to be. It is a personal story of how Lisa Beamer dealt with the tragedy in her life, and how God was the One who pulled her through, and continues to be central in her life. I did not feel she was being "preachy", but honest and genuine. I do not think that she was looking for media attention, but because of the heroism her husband displayed, I think she was trying to honor him, and honor God. I have much respect for this woman, and admire her courage and faith in God during such a horrible time in her young life. It's a good book, an interesting and honest peek into the life of a 9/11 widow.

Summary: Put this on your Christmas list!
Review: This outstanding story crosses generations and categories of people: parents, grandparents, children, siblings, church friends, neighbors, co-workers. Lisa's deep faith in her religion, family and friends after having lost her husband Todd in the Flight 93 disaster in PA is a remarkable and heartfelt testimony for support for us all. A truly beautiful account! I endeavor to read Abraham's accounts of the Payne Stewart story. It is hurtful and dismaying to read negative reviews...how insensitive! Please read this marvelous book and pass it on. Put this on your Christmas list as a gift to your friends!

Summary: Very inspirational book
Review: I highly recommend this book to everyone. I could not put the book down. I realize that people face tragedy everyday, but I think like most American's the tragedy of September 11th has affected us all. I know that there were over 3,000 tragedies that day. It was my human nature that wanted a peak inside some of the lives that were lost that day. Mrs. Beamer gave me that peak and more. I felt good in purchasing her book knowing that it was another way for me to do something for the surviving children of that day. I think this will be a wonderful tribute for her young children to have. The only memory they will have of their Dad is what can be told to them by others. Lisa Beamer's faith is very inspiring. I did not find the book to be "only for Christians". Lisa and Todd were devout Christians, it was a big part of their lives. I am not religious nor do I go to church. I was not offended by her book at all. If her family finds strength in God that is wonderful and comforting. I just hope that she continues to be strong and to be an inspiration for her children.

Summary: DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!
Review: Self-serving and poorly written trash. Don't waste your time or money!

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: An annoying and self-serving memoir
Review: This book was a totally dissppointing experience. Not only it is written at a 4th-grade reading level (what's up with the overuse of exclamation signs, like an eager child?) but it tries to portray the whole family as perfect and above all because they don't let tragedies ruin their faith and determination to go on. Let's be real! I may be a Christian, but I took offense at how her own interpretation of the scriptures is the "right" interpretation. Nobody should try to impose their faith on others so righteously. I respect her tremendously and suffer for her children but I would have respected her a lot more if she would have kept her ordeal private after the dust settled (after all, didn't she do a zillion interviews?) Nobody deserves to suffer but we are all human and can grieve in many different ways. We can all falter and sink into deep depressions after such tragedies and that does not make us worse human beigns. She made us all feel inadequate with her portrayal of her grief. I found it annoying and self-serving. The only true human spirit in this story is Todd. May he rest in peace.

Summary: Enough already
Review: Lisa Beamer wasn't "thrust" into the national spotlight, as one of the sunny and cheerful editorial reviews printed above suggests ... Ms. Beamer flexed her knees, plastered that vacuous grin on her face and virtually leaped into it. Do we really need yet another "advice and inspiration" book that's filled with nothing but empty platitudes clumsily strung together? Is this what spirituality's become in our post-September 11 world? "Let's Roll" is balm for the bereft.

Summary: Thanks for this book
Review: Last time I checked, this space was to be used for book reviews and not character assasinations. Those who would dare criticize the grief-ridden choices made by those who lost loved ones in our nation's tragedy of 9-11-01 are without conscience.
This book is an open account of an everyday Christian American family who lost their father, husband and friend in 9-11. Lisa Beamer has never represented herself as anything more than a survivor, and she makes it clear in her book that her sustaining strength comes from her belief in a Christian God. Expect to read nothing more and nothing less than this. If she had made heroes of everyone on flight 93, she would be making claim to that which no one knows. She does not in anyway intimate that Todd acted alone, and therefore, does not exclude anyone in the heroic efforts of the crew and passengers aboard that flight. Her book is honest, spiritual, and hopeful. I found it beautiful and respectful to Todd's memory as well as the others of flight 93. I am convinced, given a choice, Lisa, would much prefer Todd at her side than what ever has come her way in the last year+. Her testimony of where her strength is found has placed my own faith on much more solid ground.

Summary: Joanna
Review: I am deeply moved and saddened, however hopeful, in the moments since I finished this book. Lisa's account is a testimony to her and Todd's faith--she invites us into her home and life to experience the events that changed her life on Sept. 11--yet shares her joys and sorrows in recounting the days that followed. This woman has exhibited grace and beauty, which has held fast in the face of terrorism. Her book, well written, gripping, and a tribute to her much-loved husband, is a testament to each and every American who lived and died September 11. Thank you, Lisa, for your honesty, your candor, and your willingness to let me know Todd, one of many American heros about whom I never wanted to hear.
