Rating: Summary: American Backbone Review: Savage's book is an example of the suppressed emotions of many hard working true-blood Americans. He nails down everyday observations of caring Americans that others in this country take for granted. Those long lost attributes of sticking to your guns against REAL issues, social decency, and national pride and vigilance. He pits the whiners and lazy against their own rationalizations to expose their double standards. He brings to the forefront a popular rising of the truly oppressed in this country; those 20% of people that do 80% the work. How the tide is turning for the true workers and defenders of this great country who have taken enough abuse from society and corporations that they are finally beginning to stand firm. Let it be known that a great resurgence of conservative ideals is in motion!!! And it's about time! God bless America, home of the brave and the free. The weak minded should not read this book.
Rating: Summary: What a great point this book makes! Review: This book makes a very valid point. Sometimes the truth is hard to hear. But it's still the truth. Good job Michael! Also recommend a book that drives home much of this same point: "U.S. CUSTOMS BADGE OF DISHONOR" by Darlene Fitzgerald. After reading these two books one can see just what a farce our borders really are.

Rating: Summary: If you've heard the show, you've read the book Review: I've been listening to The Savage Nation for a couple of months, or at least when it came on WABC. It's a very very very entertaining and funny show.In my opinion, Michael Savage is the best radio talk show host in the country - even though I disagree with many of his statements. Since many people have been talkig about the book, and since its the no. 1 best-seller on the New York Times, I finally decided to buy the "Savage Nation" book. I'm at page 40 right now, I think. So far, its been hilarious, and even though its a book, its like listening to his radio show - all the ranting and raving are here in the book as well. But he does go into a bit more detail in the book and fully explains what he means. I would recommend this book to any Savage fan or anyone looking to laugh or to anyone looking to spend a couple of dollars.
Rating: Summary: He opens your eyes to how our america is being destroyed Review: Very good book. for me, it read like a collection of short stories laced with humour (dishonorable L.A. Harris), but you still see the danger in letting the liberals take their ridiculous viewpoints too far.
Rating: Summary: The truth is what you want to hear. Review: Left or right, many tend to adhere dogmatically to one side of the fence. This gentleman is no different than any other person, liberal or conservative, who confuses vehemence for righteousness. This was a difficult read primarily for the surreal leaps in logic, the apparently baseless assumptions (citing other propoganda sheets of equally dubious veracity is not a great substitute for true research or valid debate), and blinkered vitriol make this just another sad addition to the pantheon of publications that put a hardcover on a barroom argument and call it social commentary.
Rating: Summary: Viva La Savage Nation! Review: After reading many of the reviews written here, I have to say that the negative reviewers are, for the most part unable to follow simple logic and reason. That's the only way I could explain the reviews written here which refute the facts presented in the book The Savage Nation. I had been a Clinton-voting liberal for years until a chance flipping through the AM dial brought me to Dr. Savage's message of truth. I agree with some reviewers that his rhetoric is often crude and borders on self-aggrandizing egocentricism. His intellect and reasoning, however, is based on a thorough knowledge of true history and facts, and he cuts through the lie of liberalism with the precision of a razor. Listening to his show and reading his book has completely transformed my political mindset from left to right. I firmly believe that activists such as Savage are playing a huge role in the growing conservative movement taking place in this country. That's why so many liberals try to discredit Savage and his ilk, because the truth they represent is a direct threat to the false ideals that the left hold so dear to their bleeding hearts. I would highly recommend this book to anyone, regardless of political affiliation; particularly anyone who is unsure of where they stand in the political spectrum. The logic of Savage's arguments and the vastness of his historical knowledge blow liberals' credibility completely out of the water, leaving them with no recourse but to label his words as ranting racism. This is a very entertaining and enlightening read, but I would recommend that the non-initiated listen to his radio show first before buying. Dr. Savage teaches personal accountability and responsibility for people of all colors and ethnic backgrounds, not racism. If you give his message more than a cursory glance you will discover this for yourself, if you can follow simple logic and reasoning that is. He has the antidote to cure America. Listen, read it, research the historical facts and learn. The truth will set you free.
Rating: Summary: AMAZING.................LY IGNORANT!!!!!!!!! Review: I have never read anything so racist, sexist, homophobic, and downright ignorant in my entire life. I had the unfortunate experience of reading this book right after "Stupid White Men" by Michael Moore. At least at the end of Moore's book, he gave nearly 20 pages of references and text sitings to support the many views and ideas he conveys from cover to cover. Nearly 200 pages of this whining by Savage offers no legitimate arguments or even realistic solutions to "some" of the problems that we face as Americans today. Savage's work is filled with hypothetical situations based on his many apparent insecurities. Please do not buy this book, I shudder at the thought that my hard earned American dollars are now being used to fund more ignorant hate filled material to spread within this country. I'm sure there is other valuable work out there that can better express the views of right wing conservatives with so much more to offer. If you want to read it, go to the library or try and fish mine out of the trash.
Rating: Summary: A one-day Read Review: From the moment I opened the page until the end - I was captured. First book I read in one-day in YEARS too. Mr. Savage boldly outlines the problems our nation faces and WHY. He challenges US to get involved and wake up to those who want to see the greatest Country on Earth fail - and WHY. When I was finished I wanted to shout from my roof - IT'S TIME TO WAKE UP PEOPLE!!! The only problem I had with it is while we are challenged to DO something, it lacked details as to how. The Paul Revere Society Mr. Savage created may provide more insight. I joined. Time will tell. A MUST read for those of you who like an easy read with umpf.!
Rating: Summary: Brilliant book - and I was a liberal Review: I used to be a rabid leftist before I read this book. I have seen everything I used to hold true and dear debated and cleared up for me. Now I'm a member of the VRWC - why don't all you other pointy headed liberals join me. This book was well written and researched.
