Rating: Summary: Lorgin is.......Wow Review: I wished I had a bad day like Deana had and found Lorgin at the end of it. This man is everything a woman looks for in a lover. Passionate doesn't cover it. The sex scene's are electrifying. They will make you sizzle when you read them. This book is the first of this type and it magnificent. I loved the way Dara developes the characters and the storyline, feeding you bits of the plot at a time. Rejar, Lorgin's brother is just as sexy, but in a different sort of way. He is purrrrfect. His story is next in the series (REJAR). I loved Yaniff. He's a very crafty old man, who pops up when you least expect him and not where you expect to see him to. Finally Traed. Please Dara write is story next. I have the first 3 books in the series (KNIGHT, REJAR and MINE TO TAKE) and his is not one of them. I'm just about to start Rejar's story and i'm sure this will be just as sizzling as KNIGHT, if not better.
Rating: Summary: A terrible book - as told for the 3RD TIME Review: The first three chapters of this book are great. Stop reading it after that, because it's not worth it. If I could give it zero stars, I would. I won't say anything more than that, because Amazon won't let me without pulling my review (AGAIN).
Rating: Summary: Knight Of A Trillion Stars Review: This was a most excellent book. I enjoyed it from cover to cover, not able to put it down for a moment. If you love romance, humor, and a little action, then this book is definately for you!!! This is the best romance novel I have ever written in my entire life.
Rating: Summary: I absolutely LOVED this book... Review: Dara Joy's superb fantasy romance writing is excellent. In "Knight of a Trillion Stars" she creates characters and places that are vivid and lovable. I've never seen another author that writes better futuristic romance. The heroine, Deana, finds a drop-dead gorgeous alien sitting on her couch one afternoon, and he takes her back to his home planet to complete his "quest." (Note: All the guys on his planet are also drop-dead gorgeous. Makes you want to visit there...*veg*) (Note: His brother, Rejar, -- read "Rejar" afterwards -- is SUCH a delicious kitty...) This book sizzles with scalding little love scenes, and yet the plot is still first-class exceptional. Some of the scenes (especially with Rejar... oh, I just ADORE Rejar...) will have you choking back laughter, and other ones will have you fanning yourself vigorously... I'd recommend this book if you're sane. If you don't read it, you'll never know what you're missing. It's got ALL the elements of a good Romance, not just one or two. A good plot, yummy characters, humor, the works. And afterwards you'll have to read the sequel about Rejar (You'll love him, honest, he's just so delectable... so cute... scratch him behind his left ear...)
Rating: Summary: LOVE IT, LOVE IT Review: I am a huge fan of Dara Joy now! I had this book recommended to me among other ones of hers and I was not disappointed. It was nice to read something different for a change (too much London and Scotland could make you crazy). This book made me laugh and made me not want to put it down. I really enjoyed it.
Rating: Summary: EXCELLENT, EXCELLENT, EXCELLENT Review: What an enjoyable book. With some very funny parts and incredibly sexy scenes, Knight of a Trillion Stars draws the reader into a beautiful world filled with powerful mystics, sexy shape-changers and sparking Charl knights. Deana is a Bostonian sci-fi writer who comes home to find a hot, amethyst-eyed intergalactic Charl sitting on her couch. Turns out he is to be her mate, soul-mate to be precise. Only Deana doesn't believe this right away...This is the first of the Matrix of Destiny series...I'd have to agree with the posts that said Lorgin and Deana were not explored deeply enough and Rejar had a bit too much "play time" in all 3 books. I like Rejar as much as the next girl (who can NOT like a Familiar?) but enough is enough! His appearances in the other 2 books - with the last one promising his role to only intensify - is really getting tiresome. Ms. Joy - I eagerly anticipate Traed's story next!
Rating: Summary: Still smiling....... Review: What a good book! I say that even while realizing that Dara Joy's Knight of a Trillion Stars was not the heavy suspense or romantic novels that I usually read. Her story was light but filled with original and memorable characters. The heroine of the novel, Deanna, begins the story by having the worst day of her life. Having been fired from her job, sitting in some rather 'questionable' substance on the subway and finally having her car blocked in by a car accident (did I mention it was raining...well, it was), Deanna finds herself in a curious shop filled with junk. Propelled by instinct to buy a piece of jewelry that she believes is junk, Deana begins the most hilarious, fun-filled, and yep...erotic adventure of her life. Enter the hero: Lorgin, a handsome warrior from another time, galaxy and dimension, who just happens to be on a quest. Of course, Lorgin must whisk Deanna away with him after realizing that the 'junk jewelry' she bought is in fact an item of grave importance on his planet. But not before doing some rather funny things in Disney World, which roughly translates to the planet Earth for the rest of us. The journey introduces us to some interesting characters as well as varied takes on established characters in fiction. Such as Yaniff: the wizard that resembles Merlin of Camelot, Rejar: Lorgin's sensual and captivating brother (who turns into a cat on occasions) and a host of others. Even though I felt the plot could have used more development, it was a great read. Maybe it was the sci-fi component, or the steamy scenes, or maybe it was the way the author successfully combined humor, action and romance. Whatever its magic, this book definetly rates a five. And even though I read it over two years ago, I still find myself smiling at some of the antidotes.
Rating: Summary: Enjoyable but a little disappointing Review: I have to say I really enjoyed this story. It was funny, sexy, and adventurous all at once. I read a few comments here that stated a certain arrogance in Lorgin. To be honest, I felt all the male characters had a bit of arrogance (try to tell me Rejar didn't with the way he was so assured of his sexual prowess!) but since I am usually a historical romance reader (and there is no one more arrogant than a Medeival warrior or Scottish laird!) I thought Lorgin rather mild by comparison. I was a little disappointed by the character development of the protagonists. I do not feel that Deana and Lorgin were developed enough. Especially Lorgin. I loved the man, but I felt by the end of the book that I didn't know him any better than at the beginning! Most of their relationship seems to be told from Deana's viewpoint so we don't get into Lorgin's mind too much, which is a shame since you get the feeling that he's deeper than he lets on. I also thought there were too many secondary characters and because of this too much focused was taken away from the leads for them. I know way too much about Rejar, Traed and his background, and Yaniff and his meddling. Since the author was already planning on giving Rejar his own book she shouldn't have made him such an important part of his brother's - I felt deprived that I didn't get to know Lorgin. I read Rejar right after this one and already knew so much about him before I opened the book.
Rating: Summary: Wonderful book Review: This was a really good book. I have read it several times now and still love it every time I read it. I have all of Dara Joy's books, and am waiting eagerly for her next one. I found some scenes in the book to be extremely funny. I actually read Rejar beofore this one, and once I read this one, it was nice to see how these 2 met and have more information about the world Lorgin and Rejar are from. Some people may find Lorgin extremely arrogant, and not appreciate his views about women, but you have to remember he is from a different world where things are different.
Rating: Summary: HOOKED! Review: I picked this book up thinking it might be kind of fun, because I had been doing "Art Shows" at SciFi Conventions.... I'M HOOKED. This was SEXY, WITTY, very CLEVER... & unexpectedly INTERESTING. I can hardly wait for the next Dara Joy books... I found the adventure in this book, surprising real, YES, aliens & all. Fast Paced, I couldn't read fast enough, but certainly didn't want to get to the end either. enJOY!
