Rating: Summary: Lorgin, Lorgin, Lorgin Review: Dara Joy has a good way of painting futuristic pictures in the readers mind when she describes the planet of Avaria, Lorgins homeworld. One evening I was coming home from work, there on the horizon, a full moon is rising. I imagined 2 moons rising at the same time and thinking to myself, "Lorgin come take me away toooo!" I could not wait until I got the kiddo in bed and run off to bed myself to read this book. Anyone who loves romance novels, should pick up this Futuristic series that Dara Joy writes. Knight of a Trillion Stars, Rejar and Mine to Take, in that order. You will be LOVESTRUCK!
Rating: Summary: This is the one that started us to reading Dara Joy Review: Meet Lorgin and Deanna. She's having more than a bad hair day. It could be worse, like meeting an alien. Hey, she's a sci-fi buff like everyone else. Enter Lorgin. Its instant and it works. Her characters make you want more. Lorgin's brother, Rejar. The sensous feline. His Mentor, Yaniff. Wacky/Omnipotent. And Traed. An enigma worth a second, and third look. Lorgin and Adeann as Lorgin calls her, is the start of a wonderful series. Each connected and fascinating. The fire between the lovers is funny, sometimes touching, and the romance HOT.
Rating: Summary: Great Book Review: I really enjoyed reading this book. Lorgin was quite a character but Deana was more then enough woman for him. She had spunk and sass, and Lorgin was often lost. Simply awesome
Rating: Summary: Humorous, Sexy, but... Review: ...it was a little too sexist for my taste. Oh, I enjoyed the book in some of its parts. The humor was wonderful and kept me giggling through the reading...the suspence was grand, the intimacy was hot...but the 'hero' was a large, domineering, sexist male. And the heroine did indeed let him do it to her. I grew quite frustrated and irritated with his treatment of her and her submissive mannerism. So although the book was funny and well written, I do not think that it deserves five stars. At least that is my opinion. I've no taste in men like the hero.
Rating: Summary: Knight of Trillion Stars Review: Oh My Goodness!!! This book is all that. I was into the book, that got completely drawn into the story. Different Worlds, differnt times, and different characters. I laughed so hard at some scenes. I didn't what the story to end. If this book was every make into a movie, I'll be the first one in line for a ticket.
Rating: Summary: Detestable book!!!! Review: Here's the story, weak-willed, spineless modern heroine meets domineering, chauvanistic alien in a very feeble attempt at a sci-fi/romance blend. Aside from the brief flash of humor that has the heroine bringing an alien to Worldcon, there wasn't anything to recommend this book. He tricks her into marrying him by some ancient tradition of his people, and then holds her to it. And she buys it!He drags her against her will to his world, and tells her that she can't leave. And she buys it! He changes her name. And she tolerates it! He dominates her, supresses her, refuses to listen to her point of view, or her opinions, or her desires, or even her choice. And she puts up a token resistance, and then gives in! The whole thing is full of platitiudes that closely resemble the "A woman's place..." attitude, and this supposedly modern woman, Deana, placidly swallows the whole thing, hook, line, and sinker. God, it was so revolting! I'm sure that if he told her to clean house in high heels and pearls (ala Donna Reed) she would do that too. All in all, this book is a definite no no for anyone who was born after 1930, unless, of course, they missed the femenist movement completely. Perhaps Ms. Joy slept through it?
Rating: Summary: Light, Funny, Sexual & Romantic Review: If you want a quick read to take you out of this world, funny & utterly romantic this is for you. Lorgin is stong & sexy, Deana is a little dumb & slow but you'll get over it. The interactions between Lorgin & Deana gave me goose-bumps. Not to mention the rest of the cast. If you want to get into a romantic mood read this.
Rating: Summary: A BOOK not to be missed! Review: I have read a lot of romance books, but this one has to be one of my favorites! I have read the second in the series, which is hot as well, but this one will always be my favorite! I went out and bought this as well for my best friend who read it all in two nights! A wonderful fntasy story, with a lot of sizzle and romance, very unpredictable scenes, especially the love scene as they were riding off on their journey was so awesome! The writing is smooth and easy to read, plus the story and characters are unforgetable! You'll love these brothers and Joy will wisk you away to a wonderful world where true love is found...and made.
Rating: Summary: Absolutely enchanting! Review: I got this book yesterday ...and it was amazing. I was able to get Knight of a Trillion Stars and the next two books in the series (Rejar and Mine to Take) all at the same time. Suffice it to say that I'm not going to get much sleep for a while... I stayed up to 1:30 yesterday (well actually, this morning) to finish Rejar. I read both Knight and Rejar in an all nighter yesterday and plan to finish reading Mine to Take tonight. (I got so involved with Mine to Take that I was slightly late for work this morning!) I highly recommend these books to anyone, and plan to read many more of Dara Joy's books in the future.
Rating: Summary: Good start of series. Review: I had wonderful time to read this book. It is really funny and really imaginative. Brilliant fantasy romance. And the male characters... Lorgin, Rejar, and Taed, they are different in characters and very charming in different way. If you already read this book, you know what I'm saying. If you haven't , just try.
