Summary: Nothing but the Truth
Review: I enjoy reading the book Nothing but the Truth. It is a story about a fourteen year old boy, Philip Malloy, who gets suspended from school for humming the Star- spangle-Banner while it is being played on the morning announcements. Read this story to find out what happens when the media gets a hold of this story. And how the "truth" will change lives forever. I recommend this book to everyone. It will make you think twice before you believe what you read or here in the media.

Summary: nothing but the truth
Review: Philip Malloy is a Ninth grader who is mad at a teacher for giving him a D and letting him be ineligible for going out for track. So he tries to get her mad because he is not only in her English class, but also was moved to her homeroom too. Meanwhile, though the rule says that you are suppose to be in respectful, silent attention for the national anthem he hums along with the daily playing of it. When the teacher tells him to stop he ignores to listen. When she tries to enforce the silence rule, Philip keeps pushing it and she kicks him out of class 3 times and then he gets suspended. Everyone outside of school like rents and reporters think that he was doing his for patrism he was just doing it to upset a teacher. Will the teacher get fired for the rule, or what will happen to Philip for not listening to the rule. You are going to have to find out when you read the book Nothing but the Truth. In my opion I think that the book was an ok book but the promblem with it is that you would never expect the ending.

Summary: Nothin But the truth
Review: Phillip Malloy, is a ninth grader who attends the Harrison High School. The book Nothing but the Truth Written by the author Avi. In the book, Phil wants to join the track team. The only problem is that he has gotten a D in English class. At the high school, there is a rule. The rule is if you have low or failing grades, you can not attend any sport activities. Phil thinks Ms. Narwin, his English teacher, is out to get him. Therefore, when the morning announcements are going on and the national anthem is playing he starts singing or humming. Ms. Narwin told him to stop. He did not listen. She told him again to stop and then sent him to the Assistant Principal. This happened again the next day. Consequently, Phil was suspended. Phil's next door neighbor knew a reporter and she published the story of his patriotism. The story went nationwide and people were sending telegrams. This book is good, because it tells you should try to tell the truth, and nothing but the truth, because the result may be bad. This is a good example on how a little story can be blown up into a nation wide story. So I give this book three stars.

Review: Book Summary

In the book "Nothing But The Truth", a kid named Phillip Malloy chooses some wrong decisions when finding out that he doesn't qualify to be on a track team. He chooses to get the teacher in trouble that gave him the bad grade. That is what the book is based on, from this we learn that every one should tell the truth because he lied about the stuff that he got his teacher in trouble. In all Iwould give this book four stars and probably recommend it to all schools that will read a novel. This book is easy to read and the olny bad side about it is that it likes to drag on a little about one subject.

Summary: THIS IS A BOOK THAT YOU CAN READ!
Review: Nothing But the Truth Review By: Jim Suchy

This book is based on a young boy's life. One day he was trying to hum along with the national anthem... Things were stirred up. His teacher tells him to go to the office. He was suspended, and now the newspaper tells all. What will become of this young boy? Does everyone stand by him? Or, does everyone stand against him? Read this story, and surely, you'll find that this is a spectacular documentary novel! Just look at what was said by The New York Times- "THE STORY OF PHILLIP MALLOY, HIS FAMILY, FRIENDS, TEACHERS, AND SCHOOL SHOUTS TO BE SHARED." -They also stated this- "AVI'S IMAGINATIVE AND INNOVATIVE STYLE AND HIS FOCUS ON SUBSTANTIVE ISSUES HAVE EARNED CRITICAL ACCLAIM AND, MORE IMPORTANT, FOUND AN ENTHUSIASTIC READERSHIP AMONG CHILDREN AND ADOLESCENTS" I would definitely recommend this book to be read by everyone. I give it an 8 out of 10.

Summary: The Truth About "Nothing but the Truth"
Review: As someone who does not read often, I was reluctant to begin reading this book. However, I was pleasantly surprised. Ninth grader Phillip Malloy is getting a "D" in English, keeping him from joining the track team. He severely dislikes his English teacher, Miss Narwin, and soon he gets moved to her class for homeroom. In the beginning of the day Phillip starts to hum along with the national anthem when it is played. Miss Narwin tells him to stop and he does, but he repeats the act the next day and the one after that. Miss Narwin sends Phillip to the assistant principal's office and he is suspended. Phillip tells his parents and they tell a friend who is running for a chair in the school board. He makes a speech about the incedent and eventually there is a headline in the newspaper reading: "Boy Suspended for Singing National Anthem."

I won't tell the ending, but it left me speechless. The book always leaves you wanting to read more. It can be somewhat boring at times, but it is worth reading it just for the ending. The book is written with memo's, diary entries, and conversations, giving more of a realistic feel to it. Don't pass this up.

Summary: Nothing But The Truth by Avi
Review: I have just read the book entitled Nothing But The Truth by Avi. My opinion of the book is that it is very interesting and it gives people a look at what some of the teachers put up with in some schools. In this book it teaches a young boy about how lying is bad and how it can get him into too trouble. This trouble causes problems at home, school, the school board staff, and the media. If I were to rate this book on a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being the highest and 1 being the lowest, I would give it an eight. I have learned from this book about telling the truth and I hope you will too.

Summary: Review of AVI's novel Nothig but the Truth
Review: Review of author AVI'S novel nothing but the Truth. The book nothing but the truth did not appeal to me. I felt the story line was unlikely the characters were non-interesting I personally did not find it comical even though the book tried to be. The book mainly focused on only one issue from beginning to end, which I think was the book downfall. It made the story feel as if it was dragging on, and they have stretched what happened as far as it could go yet it went on. I feel that the book should have had more controversy and a much more interesting characters/story line. By, Carlos M. Larson

Summary: Nothing By the Truth by AVI
Review: I really did not like the book Nothing But the Truth by AVI. Well it was my first time reading a documentary book. But I really didn't fine a point to it. The whole book is about one subject. It was about this 9th grader named Philip Malloy that was a great runner. However, he had this teacher named Miss Narwin, which he gave Philip a D+ in English Class. Therefore, that means that Philip can not try out for track so now he does not respect her. Therefore, Philip gets send down to the office by Miss Narwin because he was humming the national anthem. Then all these problems come because they suspended Philip. However, it has a good ending so I would give it 3 stars out of 5 just because of the ending.
