Rating: Summary: Book Review on Nothing But The Truth Review: The book Nothing But the Truth by Avi, is a very funny book. In the story, there is a boy named Philip Malloy who goes to Harrison High in Harrison, New Hampshire. Philip is a good athlete until he gets a "D" in his English class but he is still a good athlete. He gets kicked off of the track team because of his low grade. To get out of Miss Narwin's class, Philip causes trouble and he gets kicked out of class for being a so-called disturbance. Miss Narwin sends him to the principal's office. So then the principal calls his parents saying Philip was causing a disturbance in Miss.Narwin's homeroom and he refused to listen. Then he is suspended for two days in a row. After Philip is suspended, everyone hears about it. It becomes so famous that the news reporters, radio stations, and due to an AP press release, people from all over the country begin to take sides on the issue. The book Nothing But the Truth is a great book. I really liked it because of the style. It went back and forth on people's opinions about the problem. It was a brilliant novel and very fascinating. I really recommend this book for adults and kids because I think that the adults would like to read this book to their kids.
Rating: Summary: Nothing But the Truth Review: The book Nothing but the Truth, by Avi, is a good book, because it has some suspense in it. The book is about a boy named Philip Malloy, who is a 9th grader at Harrison High School, in New Hampshire. He has problem with his teacher; the problem is that his teacher Miss Narwin will not raise his English grade. That really makes Phillip mad. He thinks that his grade is "unfair." Since his grade is really low, he cannot try out for the track team. He starts humming in Miss Narwin's class during the morning the morning exercises so he can get out of her homeroom class. He does get transferred out of Miss Narwin's homeroom class. This problem about Philip humming is sent by radio waves all over the world. Now Philip asks for extra work to raise his grade, but Miss Narwin doesn't give him any. Would you like to know what happened? I can't tell you; you must find that out by reading the book Nothing but the Truth. I would recommend this book to anyone.
Rating: Summary: Sumthing to Read Review: Outstanding!! I give the book four (4) stars. Avi never stops giving us some great literature such as Nothing but the Truth. In this story, Philip Malloy, a 9th grader from Harrison High, NH, causes some trouble in Miss Narwin's class by humming to the National Anthem. The problem is that Miss Narwin leads him into a vortex of problems, which he does not seem to be able to escape. She claims that Philip "was causing a disturbance." So many people get involved that it becomes a HUGE problem concerning everyone. In time, Philip says, "I don't want to go back." I really liked this book because of all the suspense in it. I didn't like the style of the story. It was like a first-person view through everyone's eyes. It was told through transcripts, journal entries, and conversations. Anyone who likes books with suspense should read this book.
Rating: Summary: Horrible Book Review: This book was not well writtten, It repeated the same stuff over and over (at least 15 times). The ending was so adrupt. I would not read this book again, EVER!
Rating: Summary: Worse than my writing Review: Can you spell crap? This book is extremely repetitive and reduntant, and many of you may think that I'm "blinded from the theme of the book" for thinking that, and you may claim that the author is just using repetitiveness to prove how the book evolves, but if this book weren't in documentaries, it would be approximately 25 pages. And what the hell is up with the ending? It is so abrupt and spontaneous, and doesn't even conclude the book in any form. I hated this book, but the worst part of it is that it had such potential of being an extremely good book. However, it turned out to be quite dissapointing. Save your money and your time by not buying this book.
Rating: Summary: Interesting Book Review: This book was interesting but it doesn't really have a good ending and it was kind of hard to get through. I like track just as much as the next guy but it doesn't say anything about that except for that he works out a lot and he wants to be on the track team. It was an interesting expireince.
Rating: Summary: NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH BOOK REVIEW Review: THE NOVEL NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH IS A GOOD NOVEL THAT EXPLAINES WHY YOU SHOULD STAND UP FOR SOMEHTING YOU BELLIEVE IN. IT HAS A LOT OF DIFFERENT CONFLICTS. PHILIP MALLOY WAS A REALLY DIFFERENT PERSON. HE WAS DIFFERENT FROM EVERYONE ELSE. HE USALLY LIED TO HIS PARENTS BUT WHEN HE DID SPEAK THE TRUTH, HIS PARENTS DIDN'T BELIEVE HIM AT ALL. PHILIP'S ENGLISH TEACHER MISS NARWIN HASN'T EITHER ALWAYS SPOKE THE TRUTH. MISS NARWIN SENT PHILIP MALLOY TO THE DEAN'S OFFICE BECAUSE HE WAS HUMMING THE STAR-SPANGLED BANNER. THE MEDIA GOT A HOLD OF THIS STORY AND BEGAN WRITING ABOUT THIS COMPLEX INCIDENT. THIS BOOK WAS A GOOD BOOK BUT NOT THE GREATEST.
Rating: Summary: Boy vs.School Board Review: Nothing But The Truth kept me in suspense. I couldn't put the book down. It was the best book I have ever read. The reason for saying it is the best, is this boy gets suspended from school for two days for being patriotic. The boy is left home alone because his parents both work day shifts. The boy was sent to the assistant principal's office by his homeroom teacher Miss Narwin.
Rating: Summary: What an Awesome Book Review: This book was one of the most enjoyable books I have ever read. It had humor and suspense at the same time. It must have took me only a week maximum to read it. I just couldn't put it down. Even if they made a movie on the story i think it still wouldn't match the book. AVI gave great character development. You could almost think their real people. I'll give this book two thumbs way up.
