Rating: Summary: Not the best book! Review: I'm Melanie, a student of Grayson County M.S. I wouldn't really recomend this book to people who like a type of book that escalates quickly. I found that it just kind of drags along. I only read it because it was required by the school. It is very realistic and something of the sort could happen.
Rating: Summary: Nothing But The Truth Review: I'M a 7th grade girl that lives in VA I love the book b/c it can teach you some stuff, and is funny. You should give the book five stars.
Rating: Summary: Nothing But The Truth Review: The novel Nothing But The Truth was an interesting novel. When we started reading the book I thiught it was going to be dull and boring! It turns out I thought that the book was pretty good. I never thought that someone could be suspended for humming/singing the "Star Spangled Banner." I also disliked the ending as well as the beginning. When the Acadamy told Philip to sing the "Star Spangled Banner ," he couldn't because he didn't know the words.
Rating: Summary: " Nothing But the Truth" Review: This book wasn't the best book that I ever read. It was mostly about a boy named Philip Malloy who was suspended from school for singing the " Star Spangled Banner." It did show how the media can over-expose a story and mess up peoples lives. Most of the book was borring except for the ending, which was really interesting.
Rating: Summary: A REVIEW FOR "NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH" A DOCUMENTARY NOVEL Review: Nothing But The Truth was dull and boring at the beginning and the end. I think that it got much more interesting in the middle when the media came into the book. The media made the book feel more alive , not sleepy, like most of it was. Although it is a slow book, it deserved 4 stars, because it had a good message.
Rating: Summary: Nothing but the truth Review: This book was a reading assignment for my class. I liked this book most of the time but some of the time it was confusing. I do recommend this book to people in middle school. This book is about a boy named Philip Malloy and a his teacher Miss. Narwin. Miss. Narwin kicked Philip out of class for humming the national anthem while they were playing it on the announcments. He got suspeded for doing that more times. His parents went to a newspaper reporter and she wrote the story and it went in the newspaper. That is all I am telling.
Rating: Summary: It's horrible. I don't recommend it. Review: First of all, the book started out fairly boring and just kept getting more and more annoying as the plot went on. Phillip sounded like a very very uptight child where everything was his way or no way. He was also REALLY spoiled. I know my father wouldn't run off and tell a press lady all about my little "problem" just because I was disrespectful on singing the national anthem during the middle of class. It was Philip's fault, he should have shut up. Ms. Narwin wasn't all that bad, yet the whole time they talked trash about her. Suspended for singing the national anthem? What school plays the national anthem in the morning anyway? Now we say the Pledge Of Allegiance and have a moment of silence. The book is completely wrong and I do not recommend it to ANYONE! By the way, I would've given it no stars but Avi deserves a little bit since he took the time to write such an annoying book.
Rating: Summary: BORING!!! Review: I think this book was very boring to read. It took so long to read it with our class that I lost interest along with some of my other classmates. I think she should rewrite it again so that it's interesting.
Rating: Summary: Weird, but Nothing But The Truth Review: I thought the book was dull at the beginning. Then it got a little bit better. After I read the book I thought it was really stupid. The book didn't really make any sense at all.I wanted the ending to be a whole lot different.
Rating: Summary: Nothing But The Truth Review: This book was really quite good. It started out boring and dull, but as you got further and further you got into it, the more interesting the book became. Especially when phillip was suspended for humming/singing the Star Spangled Banner in school. Even more interest was gained when the media entered the story and the simple problem of Phillip Malloy humming/singing the Star Spangled Banner, to Ms. Narwin being against patriotism. Although I disliked the ending, it was still a good book and it shows just how much effect the media has on someone.
